I am here in town for business and was looking for an alternative to cupcakes to bring to my clients and came upon this establishment. I noticed a woman lingering outside of your building smoking and much to my surprise, she is your employee. What struck me are these things: She ran into the store behind me when she saw me enter the store and DID NOT wash her hands. She came right from smoking a cigarette to serving the food which is DISGUSTING! She also was unprofessional in her demeanor and looked like she just rolled out of bed. I felt compelled to order something because I was already there so I ordered 1/2 dozen donut holes which I threw out when I left because there is no way I am eating here having witnessed the unsanitary conditions. Apparently Jack's Donuts is a fan favorite in Indy. I was working in town and my last day in the city decided to treat the staff in the Indy office to some sweet treats. It was pretty early in the day so I was able to snag a parking spot right our front. There was a pretty good line up to place orders. I had the lady do an assortment for me. She wasn't the most pleasant person to interact with, but got my donuts and bounced. A dozen donuts was pretty affordable, and everyone at work was very happy to have them. So I had to go downtown to handle some bureaucratic business, and of course I was exhausted from jumping through hoops and crawling under red tape afterward and needed some coffee. I searched the area and found Jack's Donuts and thought I could give it a shot. Overall, I was really underwhelmed. I got an iced coffee, and I instantly regretted ordering a large. Their iced coffees are several shots of espresso poured over ice and watered down with tap water (also known as an iced americano....?). It tasted really sour and bland. I really wish I had gotten a latte or a regular coffee, because I saw a couple people get those and they looked much better. I also got a couple donuts (obviously). They had a pretty big selection of very fresh and delicious looking donuts. I chose the Boston cream (my favorite!!) and it tasted just as good as it looked. Yum! I think I might give Jack's Donuts another try. I am a huge coffee snob admittedly, so that's where you have to win me over. The employees were very nice and friendly, and they have an awesome location right down the street from the Circle though. It's easy to walk over there and enjoy a nice donut (or several). read more

I'm happy to have a donut option downtown! If how many of them have opened all over the area is an indication, Jack's is doing well; and this downtown locations seems to be no exception. The donuts are a good selection, and they are an average price. The parking can be a challenge, as it is metered parking on Market Street right across from the capitol. The staff has been helpful, and it really is a good option for donuts for the office. read more

I have ordered at 7 am as soon as they open and been sold stale donuts, and have been told they don't have certain kinds in stock. I'm not really a donut girl. Sure, I've been known to enjoy a fluffy, sticky, cream-filled donut every now and then, but overall I'll take ice cream, tiramisu, or cheesecake any day. His ultimate apple fritter experience was in Puerto Rico, and every apple fritter since has paled in comparison. We ventured into Jack's this past weekend, where there on the counter were (giant) samples of apple fritters. Oh. So. Good. For a donut master and a not-a-donut-girl, these were equally fantastic. Per the donut king, they didn't quite match up to the mythical Puerto Rican standard, but were pretty darn close. Walked in here randomly after going towards the State Capitol. It's pretty big for a doughnut shop. It's spacious. The woman that was working wasn't friendly so it made the experience a little uncomfortable. She seemed annoyed that I didn't tip her on a $1.35 donut and she didn't say a single word except "ok" after I paid. The donut was good. I got a vanilla frosting, jelly filled donut. It was nice and soft. The frosting wasn't too sweet and you can tell they made it themselves. The jelly was ok. Overall it was a good donut. #nationaldonutday madness crept up in the office and my coworkers decided it was time to make a run down to the Circle for a free donut. We got down there and with no free donuts to be found, I remembered Jack's is just around the corner and we decided to brave the masses there. With a line crazily wrapping through the store, we were able to get in and out with a baker's dozen in just under 30 minutes. Our mix included plain glazed, chocolate iced cream filled, caramel iced, and strawberry jam donuts that looked similar to cinnamon rolls. Overall, the donuts were light and airy, and as someone who isn't a big fan of icing I appreciated the amount on the donuts as being appropriately sweet (I'm sweet enough, after all). My favorite was definitely the strawberry jam, and I look forward to trying the blueberry variety on my next visit. Although it was incredibly busy, the staff was super nice and pleasant, moving as quickly as possible while not making us feel rushed while making our decisions. I wanted to redeem 1 of my 2 coupons and the Sales Clerk said her Boss told her not to accept Groupon coupons anymore but yet they still have their lousy coupon deal up on Groupon. Is it fair to review a place on their opening day? It's debatable, but either way, it's important to keep that in mind. A coworker and I were happy to see Jack's finally opened so we adventured over around 9 am to get some donuts for the office. There were no other customers in the store, so we didn't have a wait, which was nice! The girl assisting us wasn't familiar with the donuts Jack's is known for carrying - like their PB&J, and seemed very confused the entire time. Overall, 1) She wasn't super friendly. Instead she seemed scared and confused. 2) She grabbed me a jelly donut, instead of a peanut butter because she was confused which was which. 3) She charged me for 6 individual donuts, instead of the 1/2 dozen price. 4) I got back to work to realize she messed up one of the donuts we asked for, and gave us an apple fritter instead of a cinnamon cake donut. After explaining about 3 different times that I was charged the individual donut price, versus half dozen price - the manager came out and insisted I take another donut for the trouble. It wasn't a big deal in price difference, I just wanted them to be aware so she knows for next time. But it was nice that he tried to correct the situation! Overall, it was a rough experience. But the donuts taste good, and I know it's their first day! Hoping the girls working the counter advance quickly! Damn! I've been hearing about these donuts for months and finally tried them. I saw they had apple fritters in the reviews and I am a fiend for apple fritters. I figured I would get two donuts, but then I saw the enormous size of the fritter. If you put two of them together they would be the size of a human head and they would look a bit like a brain with the two hemispheres and the wrinkly exterior. I scaled back and order just one apple fritter. The apple fritter was fantastic. If you like apples, cinnamon, and anything in the pastry related genre you need to find Jacks! It was huge. I sat outside the shop at their tables and enjoyed the massive treat with my coffee. My daughter had a couple of chocolate glazed donuts and loved those. They have a cooler with milk and water. Coffee, of course. I have only been on weekend mornings and there have been two people working and no crowd, steady flow of customers, but never more than 2-3 in line. read more

I have tried a couple of times, but I am so sad that this just didn't do it for me. The service is always bad. It feels like I am inconveniencing the staff. Yesterday's service was the worst. The donuts they donated for the pride parade were great, they were very sweet but were festive and had the rainbow sprinkles. I love all the Jack's donuts because I have a huge sweet tooth, the only think is, they're very sweet and you need a glass of milk or coffee to combat the sweetness.
