This was a very disappointing place. Let me start by saying I pass this place everyday on my way home from the gym and today I decided to finally stop. I wish I never did. I went in and ordered a pork roll and cheese on a Kaiser with pepper and ketchup. I also got four donuts being that's what they're known for. When I got home, I opened my sandwich and they gave me one big piece of pork roll that wasn't crisp enough and had no flavor and egg that was half egg and half pepper. No cheese at all. That sandwich, was the worst pork roll sandwich I have ever eaten. On to the donuts. Maybe if they were fresh I would feel differently. However, my experience was that the donuts were stale. What you see is a sausage, egg and cheese on a Kaiser roll. I am so glad I decided to come to this local owned place. The Kaiser roll was homemade, very pleased with the fluff and softness of the bread. Now for the first bite, yummmyyy. It seasoned and delicious (you do have to have ask for salt and pepper). Everyone here was very nice but I agree with some others, I'm not sure I understand the hype with the food. I wouldn't usually write a review but I definitely was very excited to eat here after the reviews and it was a bit of a let down. The person with me got a sandwich and I got a donut. After we reminded the person behind the counter that I had ordered something too, we had our food and it was just not great. Not horrible but also not great. Sub-par food and rude management. I've been to jacks donuts over the years and their food has always been great!! The best!! However, since new owners took over, the prices have skyrocketed and the quality of food just isn't there. This is probably the third time I've been there since it was sold and this morning after my experience I just knew that I would never be back. I walked in and it was obvious the heat wasn't on or broke because it was colder in there than it was outside. The 2 customers in there had coats on and so did the owner. I ordered my food which came out barely warm. I also ordered a coffee roll which was definitely atleast one day old. When I got up to pay, I had a coupon from Clipp magazine and the owner who rang me up seemed very agitated that I wanted to use it and she had no clue how to ring it up. Jacks is a great example of an old school hole in the wall donut shop. They make theme here in house and anything with vanilla is made with real vanilla bean, which I'm sure cannot be said by most other donut shops. We had the vanilla cream delight and the apple filled donuts. Jacks donuts are light and airy and jammed full of whatever you chose for the filling. My apple filling tasted like an apple pie and the vanilla cream delight was whipped perfectly and really smooth. When I brought in a variety dozen of their donuts, my boss took one bite and said "WHERE'D YOU GET THESE?" I proudly boasted about Jack's, as this was not my first, and surely not my last visit. I'm tempted every day as I drive to and from my office down the road. Service is as simple as you'd expect. Nice, quick. Order to-go at the counter or take a gamble that one of the maybe 10 stools at the counter are available. I stopped in around 9 am on a week day and was in and out with my donuts in five minutes. There was a short line that moved quickly considering there was only one young girl running the front. There is a nice variety of flavors, but they are tasty and fresh. My favorites are the Chocolate Covered cream filled. They're rich, sweet, and soft. ALL donuts are 99 cents, a dozen is about $10. Great value for the terrific taste. If you're big on ambiance, fancy dinin', or turn your nose based on looks, Jack's is not for you. If you fancy a good donut and a childhood flashback, give Jack's a try. read more

Since Jack's was sold the quality went downhill and the prices went way up. First thing in the morning there's hardly any Donuts there and they look like they were left over from the day before. I'm expecting to see them go out of business because I live across the street from them and can tell theres way less cars in the parking lot then they used to have.
