I true find! My wife looked at Yelp and picked this spot. Great neighborhood place and full of Christmas spirit. I had the Miracle Mouse and it came in a fun glass. For diner I had the chicken and my wife had latkes. Everything came out great and our server was so fun. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. I guess this was Jack Ryan's a while back and I think the "Jack's" name is an homage to him. This place in some ways reminds me of Happy Village in Chicago (it's no longer open) and it was a family owned bar/restaurant in a residential area like this place. Also Happy was owned by a family friend... ok let's get on to it.. The girls wanted to meet for brunch we had seen a few things on SM that we wanted to try.. here's an fyi they are all dinner specials which was slightly annoying oh well. The brunch menu is compact and eclectic. We got an order of chicken nuggets with a Szechuan Sauce it's worth the get. My friend got the BLT Benedict and it was more like a salad but delicious my other two friends got the breakfast sandwich of the day and I got the Hash Burger but I got the egg and bacon on the side I gave it to my friend and she enjoyed it with some other things for a breakfast taco. All in all the food was scrumptious and I'd for sure come back but now we all know about the online specials they are for dinner. We all tried some cocktails from the specials menu, get them they are fabulous and they make their own juices and etc for the cocktails. We waited until the Strawberry Purée was ready to have a Strawberry Daiquiri which was fabulous. Service is fun, helpful and unobtrusive. I will say if you have any questions or have gogos issues I'd call before you come ok. I'm so glad this place is fairly close for a lot of us to meet here. I will for sure be back for more tasty treats and cocktails. The inside has a long dark bar, go around the corner to see the disco ball and lighter wood dining area. They also have outdoor seating a plus. Be Extra Fancy and go to Jack's you will enjoy it This place is a winner... Street parking as it's in a residential neighborhood. read more

I am always impressed by the atmosphere at this bar! The bartenders are very responsive and more importantly keep you hydrated I recently went for drinks and truly enjoyed my APPLETINI (with milk punch) and the delicious fruity rum drink with rice milk transported me to Hawaii I've had some good food year as well including a nice juicy burger with all the fixin options The magic brownies will take you way way back to little Debbie era - it was so good!!! read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this one yet. This place is awesome. Such a great vibe going with the decor, super friendly staff, and great food & drinks. The food is pretty heavy, but wow is it delicious. I recommend everything, you can't go wrong. Besides shots of Malort, they serve some of the best cocktails in ROC. I got their negroni with mezcal in it and holy cow. For a good time, call Jack's. read more

This is a really cool hidden gem that I was so fortunate to stumble upon during my last visit to Rochester. The drinks, service, and food were really well done and I would certainly be coming back on a regular basis if I lived closer. The cocktails were really creative and gave this place some class. The Christmas decorations were also spectacular and really tied the whole place together. Jack's had a really cozy vibe that only a well-run neighborhood dive bar could deliver. I had a hoagie that was unbelievable, when I would usually settle for a garbage plate that late in the evening. Parking around the bar can be tricky - be sure to read the signs posted on the streets (I'm glad I did, I saw tickets being passed out as I was leaving). I was really lucky to stumble upon Jack's while in the neighborhood. This place rocks! read more

Met the girls here for some brunch and was not disappointed! An unassuming little building on the outside, extra vibey bar and dining room on the inside. While I wished the peach mandarin mimosa had a more fruity/less tangy flavor, the strawberry daiquiri was to die for and it made me a little sad that I couldn't buy a pitcherful to take home. I didn't read the menu description thoroughly for the BLT Benedict and was delighted to find that it's more of a delicious salad than a sandwich. Five stars for this dish alone! We met a couple of staff members and each one of them were helpful and kind. Can't wait to come back to experience their other menus. read more

Took 10 minutes to be acknowledged to be seated (there were 3 empty tables). Server was cold and dismissive. Menu is very limited and extremely pricy. Took over 40 minutes for 3 of our 4 dinners to come out. The 4th took an additional 15 minutes. (Simply sandwiches, nothing complicated). There was no explanation or apology for the delay. read more

This place is fun. Nice spot to have in the neighborhood and the staff is really friendly and responsive. The double carbonated g&t is awesome. The only drawback is they took the French fries off the menu! Whyyyyyy?! They also got rid of the popcorn which had weird flavors anyway but at least something snacky. read more

Wow. This place is a local gem. Local bar feels but the food and drink are not your ordinary corner pub. The cocktails are fantastic, some of the best in Rochester, beautifully balanced and marked by the clear ice. Love the juke box and disco ball vibes. read more

Wow, better than I expected. I tried the latkes and the meatball sandwich. I have eaten a lot of traditional latkes in my day but these were very different and very good. A nice crust on the top and bottom with very thinly shredded potatoes in the middle. They serve it with apple butter and horseradish cream, which was tasty but I couldn't taste very much horseradish. The bulgogi meatball sub was also not your typical sub but a very delicious version. They add kimchi to their sub, so I was expecting it to be spicy but the spice level was mild. Kind of a combination place with a neighborhood bar in one room and restaurant in another room. It was a littler loud but the whole place had a nice vibe. All of staff were excellent and eager to help. Very small parking lot but street parking is available. Definitely worth a visit. read more
