From the minute we stepped in the door I could tell it was going to be amazing! The atmosphere was relaxed. Perfectly busy for a Friday night! No sticky film on the tables. Our waiter Austin, was great!! He catered to our needs, and even offered to take our picture after dinner! The food was so fresh and delicious, exceptional guacamole and fresh tacos!! The drinks were delicious as well!! Will definitely be returning!!

The food was amazing! My husband said it was the best quesabirria tacos he's had. I also NEED to know what the recipe is for the guacamole. The service was fantastic, we loved our server Jessica specifically. She was extremely nice and we had no issues whatsoever. Overall, a fantastic place!

As a Mexican-American, this is the best Mexican food I've ever had in NY, and possibly my life! (Outside of my mom's kitchen!) The service was great, it was a bit of wait for our food but it was absolutely worth it. You can tell how much care goes into the food, the quality, everything. I ordered the red pozole and it was delicious (and spicy so ask before you order about spice level maybe?) but it felt like home. My partner ordered the combo with the tostadas and one chalupa and he was STUFFED. We cleaned our plates! Truly amazing restaurant and perhaps one of the best meals I've ever had. Can't wait to come back to Rochester and come back.

    Street Corn appetizer... wonderful!

Been back a number of times since my original review... and it has only gotten better... most exciting news was they had Pazole, and it was fantastic. So thrilled, means that I no longer have to drive to Canandaigua when I am craving green or red Pazole. Great service, busy place, but was not overwhelming. I know that they are also now doing some special cultural events, and a drag queen brunch! I gotta get out more often!

Food is colorful and textures are good, but the spice (or lack of spice) leaves something to be desired. Birria tacos were the best thing we ordered from our meal. The three routine tacos were lack luster. The loaded elote dip was colorful, fresh, but the corn was too sweet, not enough spice, not enough cheese, and overall not enough kick. The margarita made with mezcal and the Paloma were decent. Overall a cute neighborhood joint but nothing to pilgrimage to.

    Trust your bartender!

Perfect for a Valentine's dinner or any reason for a night out. Outstanding service, delicious food and overall just a great local place. Our bartender knows us, welcomes us and gives excellent advice about the menu. The restaurant is great for couples or a larger party. Multiple seating options and a very comfortable bar area.

The Tres Leche cake was to DIE FOR! The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because 1. My aunt's enchiladas were sloppy (we ordered the same thing and mine came out completely different) 2. We were almost charged two different prices for our same chicken enchilada dish My boyfriend loved his taco trio I will come back to try something different and sit out on the sidewalk patio! The ambiance was fun and vibrant. The service was prompt for a day of the week lunchtime

Fun place, fun outdoor space. Great service, friendly and up beat even when behind. Food was really amazing, every bite was delicious. A bit busy and loud. But wonderful.

If you aren't a Tiki connoisseur you should still check it out for their unique take at South Asian and East Asian cuisine. The drinks are stellar. Very refreshing and smooth. Gotta remind yourself to go easy on them or you might find yourself very drunk very soon. The food is good. I wish some of the dishes came with the option to have a side of rice instead of ordering it separately. The mood, aesthetic and vibes hit you right including the decor and lighting. Take a moment to look around and above you to appreciate the art and craft mounted on the walls. Even the wallpapers contribute to the Tiki vibe. It's well done. Sean took care of us the whole time we were there. He is so warm, welcoming, patient and ready to give you suggestions from the menu based on what you need. Importantly Sean is attentive and makes sure your specific needs are taken care of. As for Drinks, Mai Tai- 4/5 It was a pretty well balanced Mai Tai. It is a strong smooth drink. Sherrykiller- 4/5 I liked the balance of flavors and how the sours managed to hold their own in this drink. Boomslang Fang- 4.5/5 Another smooth yummy drink. The flavors complement each other. Boozy Shipless- 4/5 Well presented. Tropical flavors through and through which I loved. I was not a fan of the garnish on top at first but it grew on me eventually. Now the food, We started with Sesame Garlic Brussels sprouts. 4/5 for that dish. Beautiful flavor. Well roasted sprouts. Coconut Sticky Rice- 5/5 Perfect rice. Well made. Well presented. The salty and the sweet flavors have wonderful chemistry. The rice was the right amount of fluffy and soft. Mandarin Tea Chicken- 4/5 Very yummy. Chicken was wonderful. I wish it came with rice and had more lean white meat as it seemed that it had more fatty dark meat. Jaffna Shrimp Curry- 4/5 Wonderful dish. The shrimp was well made. Perfectly cooked. The lentils could be more softer. The sauce was beautiful and combined all aspects of this dish perfectly. I'm not sure what leaves they used for garnish. I hoped to see curry leaves in there given the South Asian roots of this dish but alas they weren't there. Nonetheless it was a wonderful meal.

Our table got free shots because one member of the party was celebrating her birthday at Easy Sailor (she also received leis around her neck). Cons: Expensive. Small portions. Food is OK, but not worth the cost. Drinks are VERY expensive. The vegan appetizers are coconut sticky rice, sesame garlic vegetables, and kung pao cucumbers. There is one vegan entrée: Spamfu fried rice. The coconut sticky rice was decent, but not filling. And it's hard to eat it without making a big mess, because they foolishly serve it to you in a small, overstuffed dish with no plate under it. So when you dig into the ball of rice with your fork, you end up dislodging bits of it all over the table. They really need to figure out a better way to serve it. The sesame garlic vegetables were quite good (better than the rice), but also not filling. My wife had the Spamfu, which was a surprisingly small portion given that it's billed as an entrée. The vegan bits of "Spam" were cubes of marinated tofu, and there wasn't much of it. Given that tofu and rice are both cheap, the cost of that dish was pretty outrageous. And speaking of outrageous costs, the fancy drinks were priced astronomically high. The menu is written in a small font and is hard to read, especially given the dim lighting in the restaurant. I had to use my iPhone to take pictures of it, so I could magnify the photos on my screen. The water carafes are impractical. They have very long, thin necks, which means you can't put ice in them -- and they tend to block your view of other people sitting at the table. They don't hold much water, so you have to keep asking the server to refill them. And the water glasses are too small. The restaurant really needs to get bigger (but squatter) carafes that hold ice, and they need better water glasses. If you're not especially hungry and money is no object, then maybe Easy Sailor is right for you. Otherwise, I'd skip it.

The bartenders working that evening were so friendly and informative! It really added to our experience to sit and chat with friendly staff who could talk us through our choices since we were basically completely new to NA cocktails. I tried The Pear Necessities, which was very bright, full, and fruity. My fiance tried the Dark Crystal, which has NA mezcal and bitters -- he really enjoyed it but those flavors are super overwhelming for me, but that just goes to show they have something for everyone flavor profile-wise. We were also super curious about the different types of NA spirits, so we talked to the bartenders about the differences in "functional" spirits, like nootropics and adaptogens. We were offered a few small samples of some of the lions mane derived spirits, which prompted us to buy a few small bottles off their shelf selection to take home. Which, speaking of bottles, they had plenty to choose from. I also loved that AltBar had such a full and engaging event calendar. I'm keeping an eye on their social media pages for their updates for March, it seems like such a great community gathering space and Rochester is fortunate to have this business added to our landscape.

There was street parking available in front of the restaurant and on either side of the street. When we walked in the first thing I noticed was the decor. Everything was beautifully decorated and so welcoming. The bar was to the right and the host stand a little further up. I didn't get a picture when we walked in but there was the cutest orange stand and a sign with an arrow pointing to the host stand. They had live music that night and it was pretty busy. Once we were seated we did wait for some time before someone came to greet us but the person that sat us did bring us water. When someone came over they were very apologetic for the wait and let us know there may be a little delay with the food but was very proactive with making drink recommendations and took our food order before leaving the table. Our drinks were delicious! I got the coconut lime margarita and it was so flavorful. My friend got the espresso martini and she said it was so good. We enjoyed the music while we waited and all of the waitresses would check on us anytime they walked by. We ordered a second round of drinks and I got the pistachio martini and my friend got the crème brûlée martini and both were great. I really like this restaurant because they offer small plates so my friend and I picked a few we both wanted to try. We got the stuffed gnocchi flight, arancini classico, and ahi tuna martini. All 3 were 10/10 on the taste scale. My favorite of the gnocchi flight is the one with pesto. The arancini was so tasty and the sauce that came with them was a perfect pairing. The cilantro crema on the ahi tuna martini was the star of the dish. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience and I'd love to come again to try some items from their dessert menu and on a night with no live music.

They also have a surprisingly large food menu, but we just had cocktails and dessert. Drinks were just OK, but the desserts were great! Definitely recommend the chocolate raspberry cake. My only critique is that the table arrangement is setup more like a restaurant than a lounge and the decor is a bit random. If they made it feel a bit more loungey, I think it would improve the overall vibe.

We thought we'd give Blvd Grill a shot. I would categorize Blvd Grill as a sports bar, as there was a row of TVs above and around the bar showing the games of local interest (Jets and Bills games). My wife and I aren't big sports fans, and we sat at a small casual table along the wall for dinner. The bar area, including high top tables was very busy with people obviously enjoying themselves, but there were plenty of available small dining tables for 2-6 people. TL;DR We were pleasantly surprised. In spite of the casual appearance, the food and drink were excellent. My wife ordered a glass of Riesling, which was semi-dry (I would actually peg right in the middle between dry and sweet) and was very smooth without that slight bite some Rieslings can have. I ordered a Blue Moon on tap. They had a small number of basic and IPA brews available. Not a large, but a reasonable selection. For dinner my wife ordered the Chicken French, which is one of her favorite dishes. She cooks this dish herself frequently, and is quite critical of how this dish is prepared when we go out. In this case, she was very pleased with it. I ordered a pesto cod dish that was on the menu. I found the cod tender and the dish overall very tasty without being overdone in flavor or cooking. As others have mentioned, the food isn't cheap, although on this particular night they were selling wings at $1/ea, but we didn't order wings. The main courses were in the $20-$30 range. Honestly, though, we've eaten at some higher end restaurants recently and Blvd Grill had them beat in terms of food quality in this case. The service was good. Our waitress was a young lady who was courteous and efficient. Maybe the food and service quality vary depending on the day or night, but based on our single experience, we'd definitely visit Blvd Grill again.
