I had the Shoals burger and onion rings and my husband had the Shack Attack with fries. We also ordered the pecan pie bread pudding. We were both blown away! Shoals Shack was my personal choice, and I think I out bought the rest of our crew compared to the restaurant they chose. ;) it was so good! This is a small building on the outskirts of Florence. There's a little parking lot but it's carryout only. I was able to place my order online about 20 minutes before we got there. It was easy and you can even make modifications to your order, which is great! The website said my food wouldn't be ready till 1:45 (I think I ordered ~1:15 or so) but we pulled up at about 1:35 and it was waiting for me! I walked right up to the window and a friendly employee asked if I had an online order. I agreed and confirmed my name and the food was mine! Easy peasy and it was still super hot and not at all soggy. I ordered the Bella burger, which is a burger with mushrooms, Swiss, garlic mayo, and fried onion strings, though I asked for no onion strings on mine. I got a side of French fries and a cup of ranch for dipping. My order was made correctly. The fries were pretty basic but good -- hot, crispy, adequately salted. The ranch was delicious ranch and perfect for dipping. Unfortunately one of my fries did have a small, straight, dark hair attached to it. I'm not wildly squeamish about these sorts of things and it was sort of sitting by itself not touching other fries anyway, so I just chunked it and went about my business. This is really my only complaint for the whole experience. That burger...wow. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Perfectly cooked, juicy, a little unctuous but not too much. Soft bun, not soggy, right amount of melt on the cheese, meaty mushrooms in the perfect proportion. And lastly, the garlic mayo really pulled it all together. It was creamy, not overly garlicky, and spread just enough to get a little bit in every bite. I will be hard-pressed not to return here when I'm next in the area. Truly, an awesome burger! Service efficient and really pleasant and helpful. Buffet scrambled eggs were the low point - clearly Industrial powdered eggs - but they'll happily make you fresh eggs or a great omelet. So long as you get good eggs, the bacon, sausage, gravy biscuits, etc from the buffet are breakfast worthy. Else order off the menu, it'll be a good plate of food as well. Probably the tastiest thing about any breakfast in Alabama will be the Conecuh sausage - If you're not already a fan, do give it a try (just order sausage in Alabama, it'll be Conecuh!). Wherever you travel, those local specialties are worthy of your attention.

Burger Depot drink looks to be about a 10 ounce cup, which comes with mostly ice at about 4 to 5 ounces of actual drink for $2.19 if you order it individually. Waitresses were running wide open, trying their best, but just couldn't keep up, even with half the tables closed. Menu was half of what it used to be. I ordered the pasta, it was as good as I remembered but my "toast" was bread with some garlic butter in it, no heat had be applied. Wife said the ribs were as good as she remembered but the sweet potato fries were cold and soggy. Definitely been sitting a while. Very disappointing, when we lived in the Florence area, we ate here 3-4 nights a week. Was always packed, wall to wall with plenty of staff and double the menu choices. Hope they recover and get back to where they used to be, a five star restaurant. Sad to say I could only give three stars this visit.
