I stopped in here over the holidays for a hangover remedy. The hostess was polite and directed me to the bar. The waitress was efficient and the food came out fast. Overall, everything lacked seasoning and flavor. I had very high hopes, but unfortunately I was disappointed. Also, the staff seemed very overwhelmed and the place wasn't even packed. I saw several servers yelling at the cooks. The service was okay. Nothing to rave about. The waitress on break sitting next to me ordered a waffle and it looked and smelled delicious. I had order regrets. The ambience is standard diner. It was expensive, so it's unlikely I'll return.

My husband and I ate here and although my expectations were really high unfortunately it was a letdown for both of us. To start with the positive, the servers were very nice although our original server did disappear for awhile after giving us menus. There were only 3 other tables occupied when we were there and she wasn't with any of them so not sure what happened with her. I ordered the eggs Benedict with hash browns and my husband ordered a pastrami sandwich with fries. The food came out within a reasonable time. My eggs Benedict were average, nothing great and the sauce was very thick and the English muffin overcooked so much so that I had a hard time even cutting into it. I couldn't eat the hash browns because of the old oil taste. Not a pleasant taste at all. My husband didn't enjoy his pastrami much at all. They toasted the rye bread making it hard and the meat tasted like it waspackaged pastrami from a grocery store or something and his fries had that same old oil taste to it. Sadly this is definitely a one and done for me but I was glad to have finally tried it after driving past it for years and wondering how it was.

Fastest service ever. Lulu and the other servers were all friendly and attentive. The food was light and delicious. The free refill on the coffee is perfect. The place is very clean and perfectly located next to the bus stop which goes straight to Ft Lauderdale airport. There is enough space in the back section of the restaurant to store luggage and there is also an outlet to charge the phone while I eat == FANTASTIC. The place is quite open with a view of the bustling street outside. I highly recommend !!

We had an errand to run nearby on a Saturday morning, so we stopped by Jack's afterwards. This place is a quintessential diner! It's really large - there is an addition to the original diner. It's quite dingy inside - I have a pretty low bar for stuff like that, but it could use a just a little upgrade! Regardless, there was no wait, so we were seated right away! The menu is huge and filled with diner classics. We opted for the corned beef hash and the French connection. The food was good. It's a diner, so it just has to be filling and comforting. I was regretting ordering the French connection just because the pancake / bread combo was SUPER filling... I managed to eat about 1/4 of the dish before hitting my limit! The service started off friendly enough but then deteriorated. It turned basic and then very, very slow. There was a server circulating with coffee for refills and she seemed to be avoiding our table. I get super twitchy when the coffee levels get too low! All in all, it fit the bill... great spot if you live nearby!

I've had an annoyance with certain restaurants on how they made their French toast for a few weeks now. I visited Jack's Hollywood Diner last night to see if their French toast is as good as I remembered it being a few years back. There were a few people dining inside when I entered the restaurant. I greeted an employee and placed an order for the super French toast which was served with any style eggs (scrambled), Canadian bacon, one sausage link (omitted), and two strips of bacon. As soon as I received my food, I jumped into my vehicle and hurried home so I could feast on my late night breakfast. Once settled at home, I immediately ate the strips of bacon and the Canadian bacon which was tasty. Next I ate the scrambled eggs which was cooked nicely. Added a bit of salt and pepper for flavor. After a couple of bites of the French toast, I immediately realized that it did not taste as good as it did a few years back. Looking more closely, I noticed the bread didn't have an egg batter coating. It was just bread cooked on the griddle. It had such a dry chewy texture that I only managed to eat two slices. This is the third restaurant where I noticed their French toast is not coated in egg batter, but is cooked on the griddle nonetheless. Could the price increase of eggs be the reason? I can't do this anymore and I will not be spending any more money on "eggless French toast".

Nova, bagel, cream cheese tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, pepperoncini's, black olives on a bed of lettuce. Pastrami omelet with grits also.

We were staying on Hollywood Beach and didn't want to start our day with a typical hotel breakfast, so we took the short 10-minute drive to Jack's. If you're looking for a no-frills spot that feels like stepping back into a simpler time, this diner hits the mark. Convenient parking on the side and in back was a good sign. First impression through the door: classic diner charm. The decor is simple but comforting, and the steady hum of conversation from locals who clearly come here often adds to the warm, lived-in feel. Our booth table had a little wobble to it--just enough to remind you this is a real diner, not a polished chain. The menu is packed with the comfort food classics you actually want. I went for the "Bagel All the Way," which the menu describes modestly: four slices of lox, two slices of tomato, three slices of cucumber, one slice of red onion, two pepperoncinis, and black olives served on a bed of lettuce. The menu must have been written by the attorneys setting a low bar--because what arrived exceeded every expectation. The plate was generous, fresh, and well-presented. Bagel options were somewhat limited but decent, and the double side of cream cheese (not even listed on the menu) was a pleasant surprise. Portions are generous--no tiny plates or fussy garnishes here--and the prices are fair for the quality ingredients and hearty servings. The decaf coffee was hot, and magically never empty, thanks to servers who move with practiced ease, calling you "love" as they refill your cup with a smile. It's the kind of place where everyone feels comfortable--families, retirees, and plenty of solo diners. You can grab a quick bite or linger for a while (though expect about a 45-minute limit during season). Want longer go to Starbucks. No pretense, no trends--just solid food, friendly service, and a welcoming, old-school vibe. Jack's doesn't try to be anything fancy, and that's exactly what makes it great.

    2 eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns.

This place is a classic American diner, with cute small booths and bigger booths. You can't go wrong with any of the breakfast choices, they have many and they look amazing. Our waitress was super attentive and you can tell this place has many regulars.

The staff was very nice and the food was good for the price . We will come back for sure

Another brunch spot that we found by luck. Albeit great reviews on Yelp but you never know. It doesn't feel like an old school diner, it IS an old school diner and has all the same charm. We've eaten multiple times since and have not had a single bad item. That aside, the pricing is fantastic. Feels like what we should be paying for things today without all the inflated prices you see at most restaurants. Our servers were great and helped us along the way. Our food fantastic. In particular, I like to get the eggs Benedict. They come out perfectly cooked with a fantastic hollandaise sauce. Overall I highly recommend this spot.

Jack's Diner in Hollywood, Florida, is a charming throwback to classic American diners, offering hearty comfort food, friendly service, and a nostalgic ambiance that feels like stepping back in time. Located on Federal Highway just South of Hollywood Boulevard and walking distance to the Newly Built "Federal Spa" scheduled to open in the spring of 2025. While this restaurant offers a cozy, no-frills dining experience it does keep regulars coming back for years, namely me!!!! The ambiance at Jack's Diner is all about classic diner vibes. The retro décor, complete with red leather booths, checkered floors, and vintage posters, adds a nostalgic touch that immediately sets a welcoming tone. The servers are both friendly and hard working. Jack's Diner has a nice menu with an emphasis on breakfast and lunch favorites. The food at Jack's Diner is simple, comforting, and reliably tasty. The breakfasts are very good and I love the Breakfast wrap sandwiches. Lunch has great burgers and salads! While it's not gourmet, the quality of the food is excellent for the price, with a home-cooked feel. The portions are a good size, so you will get your money's worth, and there's something comforting about knowing you can always count on a good meal here.

Nobody goes to Lester's Diner because they're chasing a Michelin star…read more You come because it's late. You come because you just got off a flight. You come because you're hungry. Or you come because places like this are becoming harder and harder to find. I came for all of the above. Lester's has been one of those dependable Fort Lauderdale diners for years, and I always seem to end up ordering one of two things: eggs with potatoes and a bagel, or a burger and fries. They've never let me down. Their spanakopita is also worth mentioning. Made the traditional Greek way, it's one of those hidden gems on the menu that doesn't get enough attention. This visit, though, I decided to color outside the lines. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelette. The eggs were cooked just right. The peppers and cheese worked well together, but I thought the filling needed a little more seasoning. It wasn't bad by any stretch... just a bit bland for something inspired by a Philly cheesesteak. We also started with the onion rings, and those were excellent. Crispy on the outside, tender onions inside, and exactly what an onion ring should be. My wife went with the chocolate chip pancakes. Calling them "large" doesn't do them justice. These things arrived looking like they had their own ZIP code. They were fluffy, loaded with chocolate chips, and the kind of breakfast that makes you question whether lunch is even necessary. But the real star of the meal wasn't on the menu. It was our server, Olivia. Let's be honest. Waiting tables at a diner may not be anybody's dream job, but you never would've known it from the way she took care of us. She was friendly, helpful, attentive, and seemed to be everywhere she needed to be before we even realized we needed something. I'd come back just for her service. Five stars for Olivia. Four stars for Lester's. Sometimes a restaurant isn't about chasing perfection. It's about being exactly what you need it to be, exactly when you need it. Lester's has been doing that for a long time.

Cons: First thing I did was use the restroom which had a horrible smell and the toilet needed cleaning. The service was good at first then fell off after we ordered our food- which was strange because it was not busy at all. We ordered the screwdriver & peach Bellini to drink. Steak & eggs and the Untoasted breakfast + side of ham. The screwdriver had an odd taste & the ham was extremely soft/squishy/seemed uncooked internally. The steak was not cooked well- but acceptable enough to eat. Our server never checked on us after we got our food which sucks because we needed a few things. A different server ended up walking by much later and asked if we needed help which is when I told her I'd like to send back the ham and screwdriver- both of which I barely took a bite/sip out of. I just told her I didn't like them and she got a bit of an attitude and wanted specifics as to why I didn't like it. I just reiterated i didn't like it and won't be consuming either so please take it back. We finished our food and no one ever came to our table again- while the workers were walking around helping the 5 other tables or talking amongst themselves. After sitting for 15+ minutes with our finished food, I just went to the front and waited for someone to check us out. I don't recommend this place and will not be back.

One of the last few vestiges of original Jewish deli culture in SoFL that remains. Rachel and I shared an "Ultimate BLT" ($17) and a fruit salad ($5). Fruit salad was good, with a nice mix of melon, grapes, strawberries, pineapple, and blueberries. BLT is on a white flour-dominant rye bread with caraway, and I didn't love it--a few slices of bacon. The avocado was smashed like avocado toast. The bread was broken and torn when cut, and the presentation was lousy. As a benchmark, the BLT at Dyan's in Coral Springs blows it away.
