We found this cute little diner that had received great recognition and decided to stop on our way to the airport. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, the décor was really cool, and the service was attentive. Best of all, the food was excellent! If you're in Fort Lauderdale and need a great place to stop before your flight, I highly recommend it. Great food, great atmosphere, and an overall wonderful experience!

Very attentive server, good food, but a little on the pricey side. Cute diner vibes! Worth checking out.

I love Lester's. Any place that's open in the middle of the night and has a long counter is always going to be entertaining. I dropped my wife off at the airport at 4:00 am and headed here to officially start my day. I am always grateful and somewhat amazed at the positive attitudes of people working at this time of the day. My only disappointment was that I ordered hash browns, but got home fries instead. No big deal; I could have been happy with any of the choices. But the potatoes were big and hard and seemed precooked long ago. I also got a Philly omelette with chicken and there was almost too much chicken in there. And that was hard too. I've never had a hard omelette before. So I probably would create my own omelette next time without the chicken. And yes, there will be a next time, because it's Lester's and I still love this place.

This was a late night staple for me in my younger years and I hadn't been back in a long time. Can happily say it's just like a remember! Classic diner food that always hits the spot and the portions are huge! Great anytime of day but a diner breakfast to end a late night out will always be the best.

This really wasn't my first, second or third choice in terms of getting a late night bite. I arrived after a few delays to Fort Lauderdale airport and went to the car rental place but the car rental place was closed so as I tried to kill some time and mull over my options I decided to get some food. We got there maybe around 1 AM on a Saturday morning, and as you can expect it was pretty slow. They were maybe 15 people here chatting lowly to themselves minus the group of ladies in my section who I'm not sure were ending or just starting their night. When you walk in there's two sides - one to the right and one to your left and straight ahead is the bar area with seating. The menu was pretty good. It offered quite a few different options from Greek to Italian to American. There wasn't a ton of options in each category but a good variety of cuisines. The food was simply alright. We ordered: Greek Burger which was topped with melted feta cheese, sliced cucumber, tomato, onion and house Greek sauce for $14.99. We ordered it with a side of coleslaw and that was really good actually. Perfect balance. I needed more of the Greek sauce for it to really stand out. Otherwise it didn't really taste special and I would have went with a different option. We also had the Greek combo which had the baked spinach pie, baked moussaka, baked pastitsio, stuffed grape leaves, served with rice all for 18.99 dollars. We mostly picked around on this place. The spinach pie was a hit! The moussaka we were split on if it was good or not. The grape leaves were solid. The pastitsio we both gave thumbs down to. It felt like it needed some more juice from the meat. It looks like there aren't a ton of late night options to choose from. So you might end up here or one of their other 3 locations across the area. If so my advice is to stick with their breakfast items. Looking at other plates, they looked a bit more pleased with their food than us. After all the food you eat you pay at the end up up front right by the entrance / exit. Theres also a ramp for ADA accessibility and a good size parking lot.

I wish I went to Lester's sooner. I'm a real fan of Diners and this is one of the best! They have real pies, Southern (charm) service and almost anything you could want on a menu. I had a tuna melt with cheddar cheese on the bread, a pickle, and coslaw. We then ordered cherry pie a la model and a black and white cookie. My only complaint was that the pie wasn't warmed up, and the cookie had the hard royal icing and not the soft one. Other than that the food was SO GOOD and it was a fun environment.

I was out late night and was i hungry for some Diner food! Lester's is a Broward Staple and you can always count of it being satisfying. My pancakes were amazing and so were all the other yummy things we ordered. our server was on point and knowledgeable and We left full and happy

If you're looking for a real-deal, time-capsule experience in Fort Lauderdale, Lester's Diner is the 'cat's pajamas!' From the second you walk in, you're greeted by that authentic 50s neon glow and a staff that treats you like a regular, even on your first visit. It's exactly where the locals go when they want a square meal at a swell price. We went all out on the lunch specials. The Soup & Sandwich combo with a classic BLT and creamy tomato soup was pure comfort. The Homemade Meatloaf Sandwich and the Open-Face Beef Brisket were both hearty and 'tasty as heck'--just like Grandma used to make. But the real showstoppers? The Chicken & Waffles and that legendary Beef Brisket Lester's Melt. Absolutely delicious! Great food, jukebox vibes, and top-notch service. If you're in town, don't be a square--make sure to stop by Lester's!

Always on the hunt for a great diner, and Lester's Diner absolutely delivered. Tucked away on its own near a business park (which is always a good sign in my books) this place has all the right retro vibes, from the atmosphere to the menu. The food was even better than expected. The beef brisket was fantastic! Packed with flavor and super tender. The meatloaf sandwich was just as impressive, seasoned perfectly and stacked with a generous double slice of meatloaf that made it extra satisfying. The beef brisket open sandwich (sensing a theme?) was smothered in gravy which was very good. They're also known for their huge cups of coffee, though we skipped it this time. Still, Lester's nails what a great diner should be: comforting food, solid portions, and old-school charm. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I had relatives visiting from out of the country and I wanted them to have a diner experience. It's been a while since I've been to this location and I was impressed. The interior has been renovated and it was clean. It took a little for our server to come to our table after we were seated. We were thinking that this wasn't going to be a good experience but she showed up a few minutes later and thankfully, we didn't have any issues during our visit. I ordered a sausage, egg & cheese on croissant. The croissant looked almost too pretty to eat (you can't tell from my picture). My husband and cousin ordered the Lester's 2-2-2. My other cousin ordered the Western Omelet. They were amazed at the portion sizes. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server and other servers periodically walked by while we were eating, asking if we wanted a refill of coffee. Loved that! Now that we know how nice it is in here, we won't hesitate to come back!

    Rachel S.

The food here has always been excellent. Been coming here over 20 years. Bagels are always fresh and must come from a local bakery. Crispy and fluffy on the inside. I get breakfast every time I come and it never disappoints. One time I thought the waitress wasn't listening and I thought she got our order wrong. It was my mistake to even think that because not only did she nail everything on the order, everything was incredibly delicious! Not to mention cheap! I love how cute the inside is and I always get a nostalgic feeling when I see the giant coffee sign outside at night. Can't beat breakfast all day!

Lester's Diner is EVERYONE'S treasured 3am hotspot from back in the day where we used to congregate after all the bars shut down. I haven't been since 2009 when Sea Monster had it's short lived reopening. 16 years later, we were down in the area and had to kill some time at 9am on a Sunday. Lester's Diner was the first place that came to mind. They were rightfully packed and breakfast is still delish. My friend went with the Gyro & Eggs and I went with the South of the Border Breakfast skillet -- both mouthwatering and still the spot to hit up. Top 10 of the SoFlo staples.

    Kelly S.

This is a classic looking diner that even has counter service. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs, an English muffin, and country potatoes. The boyfriend got a waffle sandwich that was essentially filled with a cheese, egg, and meat omelet. Both were delicious. The service was great. The only real complaint is that the coffee was just meh. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping

For our main dishes, we tried two different types of Benedict: the short rib and the crab cake. Both were excellent, but the short rib Benedict edged out just a bit with its rich, savory flavors. That said, the crab cake Benedict did not disappoint either which they were generous with the crab, and it tasted incredibly fresh. My cousin from Miami recommended this place near Downtown FTL so I had to try it. We went for breakfast, but they are now open for dinner - but certain days/time, I'd double check. It's a cute, quaint, and more upscale deli than I'm used to but that only made me more excited. I was also very hungry. In true Yelp fashion, I looked this place up before we went and from the pictures, the portions looked huge, so my cousin and I split everything. But don't be fooled, we still ended up each getting an entree, and finishing everything. Like I said, hungry. Before I go on, the servers were great, nice, and the culture seems very accommodating because they kept explaining that we can mix and do plenty substitutions with our orders. It was really nice and refreshing for someone who wants to try a little bit of everything as much as possible. I ordered the Grand Schlam - which is like basic breakfast plate: a protein, egg, carb, and side. I ended up getting scrambled eggs, no cheese, the maple sausages, it comes with a Latke, and I choose the tomatoes with the basil oil as my side. Delicious. Eggs portion for the prices, amazing! The Latke was so yummy and perfect size. 2 maple sausages, not too sweet, which I like. And the star was fer sure the tomatoes with basil oil because it was refreshing with the savory egg and sausage combo. We also split the Corned Beef Hash - a popular dish there. It is a very large portion. My cousin finished most of it but only because I had some of it also. It comes with slices of corned beef, and shreds of corned beef on top of the hash, with eggs, and a side. And my dear cousin got a croissant as a side so he could make a freakin corned beef hash croissant sandwich. I mean is he my cousin or what. Anyways, it was amazing. The corned beef was perfectly cooked and not overly salty which was great. Then, we shared a Blueberry Pancake, amazing. Will definitely come back. They have the largest cookies I have ever seen. And I'm also interested in their dinner options too. Lovely gem!
