There were issues with the food orders: - Turkey Cuban. This was good but they forgot the pickles. By the time I realized it, I couldn't find anyone to ask about it. - chicken tenders - took 3 asks to get the side of dipping sauce - soup and 1/2 sandwich - forgot the mayo, lettuce and tomato on the sandwich. The food took a while which was ok because everything was fresh but they missed items from my order. When I checked the order in my car I noticed nothing had hash browns. The staff was polite and apologized and went to the kitchen. They shortly returned only to tell me they ran out and that's why they put home fries. I was there waiting for my order and common sense is to just ask. Nope not at this place they wanted to me to get home and just deal with it. When I got home I also noticed they missed the extra order of bacon. If you need to try something new stay away from this place. This was a tough one to rate. I would give its staff 5+ for service and kindness. The food was not great. My niece begged for pancakes for dinner so I took her there on a Tuesday evening around 6pm. The chef was awesome and made her a perfect plate of Mickey shaped pancakes. She loved them. I ordered the patty melt after they were out of the first two things I ordered. They were also out of French fries. (How does that happen?) I asked for some ranch for my sweet potato fries and... they were out. Publix is located right next to them. How can you be out of basics? This used to be the Blue Moon Diner. It was one of my favorite eateries. Hubby and I went for lunch today. The place was practically empty. It looks the same, but I would say it is much brighter and seems spotless now. The menu is similar. The service is still congenial and friendly. We had two favorites: Grouper Francese and Our Signature Crispy Fish and Chips. The grouper was good and lemony, as always. They changed the breading on the crispy fish; it was not the signature flaxy, pankoish style. It was more of a flour batter. Although it was decent, I was not a fan. Bring back the crispy crust. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. Lunch for two including tax and tip was $36. A bargain during these post-COVID eating out times. I really enjoy going to diners because of the variety of food you can choose from. It was my first time here and it didn't disappoint. It was very clean and our server was great. She even sat and talked with us for awhile since it was a rainy day and there weren't very many people there. I ordered the tuna melt even though we were told it wasn't made with albacore tuna which is what I usually prefer. I'm glad I ordered it because it was very good. It came on rye bread and with a side of fries and the fries were delicious. It also came with coleslaw on the side. My friend had a Cuban sandwich that she didn't enjoy too much. It wasn't pressed like a Cuban sandwich is supposed to be and they had forgotten to put pickles on the sandwich. She really enjoyed the fries/slaw that came with it though. I usually love diners because they are holes in the wall but this place was just ok. There was a weird smell in the air like old or mildewy. I was expecting diner ambience but it was a bit more upscale and seemed remolded. Our server although she wanted to be attentive, she asked like right away if we knew what we wanted and after we told her to give us a few moments she waited for 2 minutes came back and asked again and at that point we still were not ready, she came back and asked again. It felt overwhelming. The food was okay. The best thing were my husband's fries. The omelette was okay same with the hash browns as well. We were looking for someplace new for breakfast and decided to try out Cooper Diner. We are glad we did. First, the restaurant is super clean & the staff we encountered were very friendly. Our server kept my coffee hot and was very personable. Cooper Diner is under new ownership and the restaurant definitely got an overhaul. I am hoping as time goes they will add some wall decor to make the restaurant look a little more finished. For the food. I had a NEO - Nova Lox & Onion scramble. It was very good and packed with large pieces of nova. I opted for a bagel - which was a mistake, as it reminded me of a lender's bagel. I was a little disappointed that there was a 1.95 up charge for it. Next time I will opt for toast, a biscuit or English muffin. The hash browns are not the Patty kind and were nice and crisp. My coffee was also very good. My husband had a 3 cheese omelette which he was very happy with and also loved the hash browns. He had a biscuit and said it was very good. Today for lunch wife and I went, we both ordered the 10oz cheese burger, she ordered her's burn it, and I ordered Medium, when I cut it open it was well done, and the asked for lettuce, and it wasn't Iceberg and what they put was little piece's looked like Romaine not my choice for burger. I have had better chicken fried steak at a hospital cafeteria. This food gives me a Golden Corral vibe. The vegetables are watery and have no flavor, I found whole boiled chunk of potatoes in my 'mashed potatoes' and they were so dry I had to choke them down. The chicken fried steak looks like something from a school lunch and tastes just about like that. Please save your money and go elsewhere. Party of 4, the worst dinning experience of our lives. When the plates hit the table we all looked down in disbelief wondering if we just landed on an episode of PUNKED. The quality of food that was served to us I can only describe in my opinion as a teenager cooking for the very first time, all alone, visually impaired with Google instructions. Burger, old squished bun & raw meat. Chicken Tenders so hard you couldn't even bite a piece off. Chicken Parm, beyond burnt chicken that they tried to cover up with tomato sauce. Vegetables, looked & tasted exactly like the Great Value frozen steam bags I buy, which was dumped on the plate with water. Cajun Pasta, was a literally just a plate of plain pasta covered in oil. That was immediately sent back, not eaten & no replacement ordered. The girl just took it and left without a word and of course still tried to charge me for it. As we sat in this empty "restaurant" that was deafening silent we only saw two young staff members who coincidentally disappeared into the kitchen the entire time we waited for the food. So since not one of the meals were actually edible one can only assume they did not have a professional cook that day. Unfortunately the worst part for me was that I was there with out-of-state guests visiting so I was beyond embarrassed for taking them there. I came into this restaurant with my husband really happy to see the new place. I didn't appreciate witnessing the owner talking to her workers rudely. I'm sure she had some type of reasoning but what I witnessed was beyond unprofessional and she was talking to them as if they were her kids and I proceeded to ask one of the waitresses if they were related to the owner and they confirmed there was no relation.I genuinely just felt bad for the workers and I will not be coming back. read more
