9-4-24 Slice of chicken caprese pizza. Delish!
    Anthony S.

9-4-24 Great little neighborhood pizza joint. Plenty of specialty slices available and quite a few tables to sit and enjoy your meal. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. Service was fantastic. The gentleman behind the counter had to be an owner. He was extremely passionate about pizza and offered some suggestions on what to try as well as a detailed explanation on a bunch of different items on display. Prices were reasonable as well. I love places like this. I tried a chicken caprese slice, chicken marsala slice, a regular and a Sicilian. They were all fantastic. Although it was my first time here, there's no doubt that I'll return.

Walked in before heading to work and was greeted with a smile by a female at the front counter. Maybe Josephine? Lots of guys working to fulfill orders. Nice display case of drinks from bottled to canned sodas, Stewart's glass bottles, Snapples-galore and 2 liters fit for any family or party! My slice more than pleasantly surprised me! The dough was not too chewy, but fluffy. The bottom wasn't burnt, and had such a delicious crunch. Sauce was great and I will definitely be back next time I'm working in the area. The dining area is nice and clean, plenty of seating. Included pics of their whole menu! And the bite that I took that had me SOLD!

Employees are very friendly and the pizza was excellent. Our pie was brought to our table and the slices served to us, which was nice. Very clean place with a bathroom. Tables well spaced.

The best pizza on Long Island! The best! Large slices, grease dripping, melted cheese and thin crust. Fantastic. It was nice and hot too. I'm a sucker for a pizza lunch with a soda. Jack's was a recommendation from a dear friend. She has never steered me wrong when it comes to food. She delivered here! When we walked in we placed our orders and sat down. The staff was amazing. Great conversation, smiles and hardworking. They seem to do a good amount of take out as well as eat in. The interior was so clean as well, parking in a side lot too.

More like 3.5 stars. Solid, standard pizza place. I had a large Caesar salad (chopped) with grilled chicken. I asked for dressing mixed in. Dressing was not mixed in. Sigh. Calamari was good. I tried the chicken parm too and it was fine.

It's been years. Nearly 50 since O had a slice of pie here so expectations were high and driven by memories from my childhood. Still located in the same place though it's footprint has doubled over the last few decades, this is still the place where memories are made. Good, hot pies with dripping cheese and sauce. The flop dead on and the spices just right. Not much in the way of decor but that's not what you are here for is it? Grab a pie or a slice, the variety is much wider these days and inhale the smells and tastes of summer in an Italian beach town.

    a pizza in a box

Living in NY sets a high standard for pizza, I get that, but do yourself a favor and do not order a Sicilian pie or slice. The sauce isn't good and the slice is HUGE. I know Sicilian slices are supposed to be thicker, but good lord did I order a sheet cake? The slice is so thick that it can't even fit in their to go boxes or your mouth. Attached you'll see my first red flag for this place: ruined cheese. I can't speak for their other food, but if they can't make a good Sicilian than I don't want it.

I interacted with the guys making the pizza, they were a bunch of jokers who knew how to make their customers laugh and enjoy the moment. Engaging with one person, I was able to share my experience of Barrier Brewery, and he shared his as well. upon leaving one of the workers acquiesced with my decision to have a slice, split in half. That gesture was very kind. I had my fill with pizza for the night, so I did eat the slice that was split into 2 pieces` in order to provide a precise review. That ZA was delicious with a mild marinara sauce everyone enjoyed. I can eat this ZA without it affecting me and this was not a thin crust; it was a regular crust. Honestly speaking, this was an 'mmm' slice. When you bite into it, you go mm because it's that good. Calamari had a pleasant crunch atop a Sicilian style slice. Crust was cooked well and provided a satisfying crunch. There were plenty of specialty slices and rolls available which all looked very good which I'll have to try next time. Guys behind the counter were friendly. They were packed so they seated us at the last 2 seats left at the bar near the host stand. There was an acoustic singer and guitar player adding to the energetic ambience. We were handed the place mats and menus upon seating. Then it took about 15 min to order a drink. Then another 25 min before we could place our food order. The female bartender was attentive to all the parties around us, and people who came in after us seemed to be a priority. The barback finally noticed us and helped us while he was also busting out drinks. He noticed we were trying to get her attention so he stepped in kindly and took our order. We ordered the Grilled Artichokes, the Burger, and Chicken Carbonara. (Wanted the Bolognese but someone had just ordered the last one by 8pm?!) She never checked in for a second round, so we didn't bother after about 20 min we gave up. The Artichokes came out about 20 min after ordering. They plopped them in front of us, no utensils or napkins. I had to ask the barback for some. The busser seemed disgruntled a said they only had forks. Had to flag someone else for napkins, and they brought us a pile of c-fold paper towels, when they usually have cloth napkins as we noticed with patrons who came in after us. My sis-in-law and I wolf down the 4 pieces of artichokes, using our fork and hands to cut into pieces (no knife). Then another 30 min before our mains come out. Couldn't even ask anyone for a food status update, so just tried to enjoy the live music and each other's company to distract from hunger pangs. The burger and carbonara finally show and looks great. The portions were generous. Fries were a little blonde and just underdone but seasoned enough. The carbonara was delicious as well, nice and al dente. We enjoyed our food and chatted. Music was on the louder side but for a Friday night at 8ish pm, that is not uncalled for. The restaurant started to end their rush and the bar emptied out a tad, but the service did not improve. Asked for the bill and to-go containers as soon as I could flag someone bc I knew it would take awhile to get them. Of course when getting the bill things progressed speedily, so we paid and tried to get out as soon as we were done. The staff there was hot and cold. Barback was helpful and everyone else seemed "annoyed" to have to help us with simple requests that shouldn't have to be requested to begin with. Again I understand rushes happen and staff can become overwhelmed. The bar team had to service the bar and some high tops nearby plus make drinks for the rest of the restaurant, so I understand the volume was high, but again the management team should plan accordingly to make sure the diners do not have to feel the lag in the service. Food was good but left a little disappointed from the service.
