After rolling into Zion, setting up camp, and a long swim, we were ready for some grub. A quick scan of local menus led us to Jacks. We saw bar food and beer, plus the clincher--a kids' menu with chicken tenders. Everybody happy. We were surprised by the ambiance, mainly that Jack's is pretty cozy but feels uncrowded. Sports memorabilia representing teams from across the country festoons the walls with TVs galore. There's a robot patrolling to bus tables... Our server, Amber, greeted us quickly and took good care of us throughout, taking split checks and indecisive kiddos in stride. Drinks came out first. I enjoyed my draft porter and my friend indulged in a can of Melvin 2x4. Pepsi products for the kiddos. Ironically, dads ordered the same meal, and the boys each had chicken fingers. The brisket sandwich featured surprisingly tasty beef, moist and cut perfectly for going on a bun. It's pretty filling. I took about half with me. Beans offered nothing spectacular--somewhat runny, but compelling enough to finish. Fries were fries. Chicken tenders looked standard. The boys rated them second out of three on our trip. 3.5 star food. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Round it up to four Springdale stars. read more

This place has bar food. Half the menu is burgers so that is a clue that it's their specialty. They have other things on the menu but I hesitate ordering something that is not their specialty if I have never been there before. I was tempted to order rice bowls but that would be a mistake. Service by Diane was very friendly and efficient. We came with our kids and ordered the chicken tender meal for them. My husband and I ordered burgers and they were delicious. The day before my husband order the J combo which came with pulled pork and brisket BBQ and I was not a fan. I really enjoyed the baked beans so I ordered that again. I would have preferred noodles or pizza for the kids but most places are closed during the off season. read more

Springdale is the town that Zion is in and frankly, I wouldn't recommend any restaurants there. The restaurants are definitely a tourist trap. The food is mediocre to average. But the prices are extremely high. If you find yourself having to be in the area, we thought Jack's sports Grill was decent. The food was OK. The service was good. read more

We ate lunch at Jack's after hiking Observation point in Zion. Parking was super easy even during the holiday weekend. Our waitress was very nice and stopped by many times to check on us. Great food - poor service. I don't blame the server; I blame the restaurant. You can expect good service when the server has tables on both extreme ended of the restaurant. If they were assigned sections, they would do a much better job. I had the Hickory Burger, and it was cooked to order. I did sub the BBQ sauce for Chipotle pepper mayo. My burger was tasty. Overcooked so much that you couldn't tell if it had been cut incorrectly, or just cooked early in the evening and warmed up. Jacks is a sports bar which was streaming college basketball and NFL football the night we went. The inside is a bit underwhelming, but I'm sure the energy is great during peak season at Zion. We ordered the wings, which were thick, with a good crust, and coated perfectly with sauce. However, the vegetables that came with the wings looked sad and wilted, so we didn't eat them. I asked if they had pizza on their menu and the server replied " no but I can make you a quesadilla." That was the first issue. After that I asked to order for my toddler and he said no again and took about 20 minutes to return to start taking our order. You do pay a premium for being right outside the Zion entrance but the portions were more than filling. Jacks was a solid choice, pretty standard food, quick and pleasant service. We arrived in Springdale relatively late and were looking for something nearby for dinner. The hours for Jacks are listed differently depending on what website you look at. We took our chances and it was still open (closed at 9 pm I think, still not real clear what time they close) We were seated almost immediately. The service was very good with our drinks, food, and bill being delivered with minimal wait. I wasn't that hungry and just had a bowl of chili. Overall, it was okay...probably wouldn't order again. My family had pulled pork sandwich plates that came with fries, baked beans, and two different bbq sauces. Stopped in here before we headed into Zion for a friend's wedding ceremony. First positive was they were pet friendly and allowed us to sit on the patio with our dogs. Next we dug into the menu... Nothing too surprising about the menu so we ordered a hickory burger with fries and a mushroom burger with fries. The server returned with our drinks and waters for the dogs, very sweet. We were looking for a place to eat lunch after leaving Zion and Jack's Sports Grill was conveniently located on our way out. The service was great from the start with all the staff greeting us and asking about our experience at the park. Our server Justin was very friendly and knowledgeable, recommending food and beer that we absolutely loved. The portions were large and the food was great. We had the buffalo wings, beef nachos and burgers. All the food was excellent with the nachos and buffalo wings being our favorites. How do you mess up wings and sandwiches? The wings were very heavily breaded and obviously frozen grocery store wings. My daughter's cheesesteak was served cold and the steak was like leather. My salad was 90% shredded lettuce. The grilled chicken was obviously cooked earlier in the day and re-heated - rubbery. Was charged $8 for a can of beer.
