Staying at a VRBO while visiting Zion National park and this popped up on my Yelp for eateries nearby. Heck, it was right across the street! There is indoor and outdoor seating but definitely try to eat outside. The view is so beautiful. The menu was pretty varied from tacos, sandwiches, burgers and meats. The drink menu was good too with lots of different draft beers and cocktails. We had the crispy Brussel sprouts -so good! The beer battered shrimp tacos on corn tortilla was really good and came with chips. Do try the "dirty soda"--vanilla root beer, coconut cream and lime. Loved it. Camp Outpost has a great patio setup and the service was quick and friendly, which made it a nice spot to relax outdoors. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty underwhelming. We ordered the Slow-Roasted Pork Sandwich, but the meat was dry and the bread kept falling apart, making it difficult to enjoy. We also tried the Camp Burger, which was decent but lacked any real wow factor. Overall, it just felt like an average burger without anything particularly memorable about it. While the atmosphere and patio are nice, the food was bland overall and not something I'd personally come back for. If you're in the area, there are probably better food options nearby. read more

The knife was not sharp enough. If you're going to serve chicken on the bone with the thigh and drumstick attached, please provide appropriately silverware to eat it! QR code only establishment and it is my belief that if you're going to go that route, you should provide free wifi. The receipt automatically adds 18% tip by default. Definitely felt like a millennial burger joint. You order through a QR code on the table and the prices were somewhat expensive for my taste. I got the burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was good, but didn't blow my mind good, didn't taste $22+ good. Sweet potato fries were fresh, but somewhat bland, needs more salt or seasoning. A quick stop for some lunch at Camp outpost is where you need to go. Had a burger and it was delicious. They also have on their menu a lot of different chicken rotisserie which was also delicious. They had a bit of potatoes and I normally don't like potato salad, but it was really really good cause it was like a roasted potato mix situation going on. Also ordered fries are so amazing and definitely recommend this as a pitstop. They have a quick ordering process because they use a QR code and facility is clean and very close to Zion. Solid restaurant to get basic vittles in your stomach. For context, Zion doesn't have too much around it, but Springdale has more options within 10 minutes of the park compared to many other national parks. Service at Camp Outpost was great, despite my stomach acting up still from the food poisoning I got eating canned mussel provisions from Patagonia in Arches. Although I spent about a quarter of my time in the restaurant in the bathroom, the majority of the time was enjoying the rustic ambiance. Quiet restaurant with good lunchtime vibes, even during off season the restaurant delivered solidly on its club sandwich, fresh lettuce and tomatoes crunching against panfried bacon and rotisserie chicken. The pork chops were okay, a little tough to chew, but seasoned lightly with chimichurri and tasty. Highlight of the restaurant was probably the crispy brussels sprouts. Too bad my stomach didn't hold onto anything too long. They're open during winter months, which is a big plus! Service is also really friendly here. We came in for dinner and tried the Camp Caesar, Mission Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Strips (kids), and Cheese Quesadilla (kids). They also had a banana muffin out, which we grabbed. Their winter menu didn't have tacos or some other things, which was a bummer. Ordering at the counter is straightforward, and we took a number to our table. Food came out really quickly. The brussels sprouts were probably the best thing we ate. Even our kids loved them. Super crispy, great texture - yum! The kids offerings were okay. Good enough for the kids. The quesadilla was a corn flour one. Their fries were pretty good though. The two salads were also really nice. The garlic baguette that's served with the salads is phenomenal! We loved this place so much we came here 3 times during our trip!! The rotisserie chicken was so good, I love how they did the potatoes, all of it. It feels like a good home cooked meal after a long day of being outside and hiking. We came back several times to try the burgers and tacos and tried the seasonal Mac and cheese and peach cobbler. Decided to stop by during our trip and give it a try even thought reviews are quite mixed. I understand some of the reviews although I thought some of them were being harsh. Food- 7 out of 10. Good flavor alone with good portions, it's clear it's fresh food. Ordering online could be tedious as not all food requests/edits are easy options and also if a note is added, it appeared to not to be considered at all. Service- 5 out of 10. You order off a QR code which makes personal interactions with staff minimal which is great if you enjoy that and complicated if you're hoping to ask questions and such. After drinks and food are delivered by a staff member, don't expect anyone to stop by and ask if you need anything else or check in because this was clearly not the norm with any table unless you flag them down. Ambiance- 7 out of 10. Simple and quiet which is nice when you want to sit and get to the point of having a meal. I was disappointed in how dirty their restroom was, lacking toilet seat cover and toilet paper refills. The trash can, mirror, and most visible surfaces were dirty and just overall stinky. This is a turn off for any establishment. In the hour we sat here, I saw many staff members staying busy yet, also with pockets of time standing around that could have been used to have some sort of system to do a restroom reset. Small improvements, like adding some more personable touches from staff and a system to have staff hourly clean the restrooms would make this a great spot. read more

Should have been offered replacement for same price. Overall the quality is there. And in this day and age when everyone is charging extra for fries it is nice to see it come with the dish. A solid option for post hike food that has more than just burgers. We arrived for a late lunch from Zion and there was plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. You order and then get seated at a table with your number. They have a menu of burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos, and rotisserie chicken. We opted for the half chicken with potatoes and arugula, which was filling for two people who are not huge eaters; the arugula was mixed into the potatoes. The sweet potato hummus and veggies/pita bread was also quite refreshing and good. There's an hour free parking in a private lot. The fries were a good texture, just served a little too cold for my liking. My husband didn't care for the lemonade, which had a very natural taste to it, but I did. I could see where they were trying to go with the banana bread pudding, however it was way too dry to consume. The peach cobbler was good. Had a nice outdoor lunch here before going out to Zion. The view from their patio is gorgeous. Note the parking lot is before the restaurant if it is on your right side, we easily missed it. Parking is not abundant and there is a one hour limit. The service was neither good nor bad. You order at the counter and they bring you your food and drinks. No greeting, no smiles, nobody checks on you. I like that they brought us jugs of water. Ice would have been ideal given the almost 100 degree weather. Food took a while to come out but that's okay. I got their roasted pork entree. The pork was slightly dry and needed salt, but the chimichurri helped with flavor. The kale under it was fantastic!! The grits it came with were okay. It wasn't giving "grits" but more like a dry rice. The burger was good, we ordered it plain with just sauce and it was a good size and the beef was flavorful. We also got the kids chicken tenders and they were actually very delicious and tasted fresh. My one year old daughter loved the fries. Overall it's a nice lunch spot with great views. Great location, great options, friendly service. Modern cafe style -- walk up to counter to order, then find a table. They bring the food out and cleanup after. There are plenty of tables inside the dining room with large windows all around to enjoy the views from within the AC. But there are also nice tables on the patio outside. The burgers were surprisingly delicious... restaurant quality with the flavor of a guilty pleasure greasy bar burger (but this one is not at all greasy). Salads and sandwiches in the party were all great, and after a long hike it all hit the spot. If you're staying at the adjacent Dessert Pearl Inn, there's a little discount. The drinks are a little weak, but not really surprised about that, they still tasted good. Overall, a great find. I'd definitely come back. read more

The food we got: + Camp Burger ($17.95) (4/5): Juicy and tender meat! Also served with super crispy fries which was appreciated. + Brussel Sprouts ($8.95) (5/5): These were ADDICTING. I'm not a huge brussel sprout person but there was soooomething about the way they made the brussel sprouts that made me unable to stop eating them lol. A must try for sure! While it was great, there was a little too much dressing. I'd ask for it on the side. Also there was supposed to be to be cauliflower... I think I saw a chunk of cauliflower that looked like a small chunk of cheese. Also- it was super light on most of the fixings except the greens and quinoa. I still dream about this chicken! We liked this place so much we came here two days in a row. The first after a long day in the narrows. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and my partner ordered the pork sandwich. Both were exceptional and we saw a lot of people eating the chicken there which inspired me to go the next day! After a day hiking angels landing we split the hummus which was super fresh and a full chicken. The chicken was super juicy and came with very fresh potato's and arugula. Had lunch here after a long day hiking in Zion National Park. Free parking right next to the restaurant. We had the bacon cheeseburger, sausage plate, and quarter chicken. See the pics for details of food. All were great-although we were starving and anything would be welcome. Sat outside at picnic tables in the 75 degree sunshine. Order at the counter and they bring it out. Had a draft beer, lemonade, and a margarita. The drinks were good except the lemonade which was too sour. Lunches run about $19 each. Staff were very friendly and quick. We'd definitely go back. The restaurant is located about a half mile from the south entrance to the park. They also serve breakfast until 11:00 am. read more

The chicken cobb salad was filling and flavorful with very fresh veggies. It came with some french bread, which was a nice touch. The outdoor patio had great views with unassuming and upbeat music. I dropped a star for the 3% addition to all charges for "increased costs" (see the sign at the register). I in no way dispute what inflation has done to small businesses, or a need to pass the cost to consumers. Adding a 3% charge is less straight forward and less transparent, though, than just increasing menu prices directly by 3%. If they just raised their prices by 3% as reflected in the menu cost, I would not be deducting a star. read more

Very casual, but really good. Parking is available, but kinda limited if busy. No problem getting a table when we dropped in on a sunday around 5pm. Modified table service where you place your order at the counter then they bring it out. Our group had the combo salad (really good), baja shrimp tacos (loved it), camp burger (you can't screw up a burger) and i had the sausage platter (all 3 different links were great, but chimmichurri sauce could have been stronger) + we started with some fried pickles and these were really tasty.
