Staying at a VRBO while visiting Zion National park and this popped up on my Yelp for eateries nearby. Heck, it was right across the street! There is indoor and outdoor seating but definitely try to eat outside. The view is so beautiful. The menu was pretty varied from tacos, sandwiches, burgers and meats. The drink menu was good too with lots of different draft beers and cocktails. We had the crispy Brussel sprouts -so good! The beer battered shrimp tacos on corn tortilla was really good and came with chips. Do try the "dirty soda"--vanilla root beer, coconut cream and lime. Loved it. The staff was super nice and even accommodated my request for no added salt. Definitely recommending this place! read more

I recently visited Camp Outpost and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, my burger was absolutely delicious, and the fries were perfect--crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fried pickles were also fantastic, especially with the great ranch dip. However, the Mission Salad was just ok. We actually had to reorder it because they initially forgot to add the roasted corn and black beans. If a server had been available, this could have been addressed immediately. Instead, I had to go up to the counter, wait for someone, and then let them know about the order issue. Even after it was remade, there was simply too much lettuce, and for the price, it really isn't worth it. Service-wise, I was frustrated by having to tip before even being served. Additionally, the staff never checked on us during our meal to see if everything was good or to refill our water. I'm torn between a 3-star and a 4-star review because service means everything, especially in this day and age where everything is outrageously expensive. read more

I chose Camp Outpost for our post-hike lunch/early dinner based off of their Yelp star rating. I should have read further, but with intermittent service in Zion, it was difficult. The sausage plate enticed me, and it was decent. Their portions are generous and I was able to share it and a side salad with my boyfriend. Food was overall uninspired, but classic American. Nothing to write home about. We weren't a fan of the table QR code, which had many more offerings than the paper menu. Seat yourself, place your order yourself, then after being served, be forgotten about and never offered more water. The carafe filled our three glasses once, then we were never checked on past our orders coming out. You also have to pre-tip on their website. It's hard to determine how service and food will be before even meeting anyone, so bring cash to leave on the table. With plenty of Zion options, I'd skip this spot. read more

Camp Outpost has a great patio setup and the service was quick and friendly, which made it a nice spot to relax outdoors. Unfortunately, the food itself was pretty underwhelming. We ordered the Slow-Roasted Pork Sandwich, but the meat was dry and the bread kept falling apart, making it difficult to enjoy. We also tried the Camp Burger, which was decent but lacked any real wow factor. Overall, it just felt like an average burger without anything particularly memorable about it. While the atmosphere and patio are nice, the food was bland overall and not something I'd personally come back for. If you're in the area, there are probably better food options nearby. read more

The knife was not sharp enough. If you're going to serve chicken on the bone with the thigh and drumstick attached, please provide appropriately silverware to eat it! QR code only establishment and it is my belief that if you're going to go that route, you should provide free wifi. The receipt automatically adds 18% tip by default. Solid restaurant to get basic vittles in your stomach. For context, Zion doesn't have too much around it, but Springdale has more options within 10 minutes of the park compared to many other national parks. Service at Camp Outpost was great, despite my stomach acting up still from the food poisoning I got eating canned mussel provisions from Patagonia in Arches. Although I spent about a quarter of my time in the restaurant in the bathroom, the majority of the time was enjoying the rustic ambiance. Quiet restaurant with good lunchtime vibes, even during off season the restaurant delivered solidly on its club sandwich, fresh lettuce and tomatoes crunching against panfried bacon and rotisserie chicken. The pork chops were okay, a little tough to chew, but seasoned lightly with chimichurri and tasty. Highlight of the restaurant was probably the crispy brussels sprouts. Too bad my stomach didn't hold onto anything too long. They're open during winter months, which is a big plus! Service is also really friendly here. We came in for dinner and tried the Camp Caesar, Mission Salad, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Strips (kids), and Cheese Quesadilla (kids). They also had a banana muffin out, which we grabbed. Their winter menu didn't have tacos or some other things, which was a bummer. Ordering at the counter is straightforward, and we took a number to our table. Food came out really quickly. The brussels sprouts were probably the best thing we ate. Even our kids loved them. Super crispy, great texture - yum! The kids offerings were okay. Good enough for the kids. The quesadilla was a corn flour one. Their fries were pretty good though. The two salads were also really nice. The garlic baguette that's served with the salads is phenomenal! A quick stop for some lunch at Camp outpost is where you need to go. Had a burger and it was delicious. They also have on their menu a lot of different chicken rotisserie which was also delicious. This was a great spot to visit as it was right next to our hotel and we got a 15% discount because of the hotel. The food was good. The ordering process was stupid. You have to scan a QR code and order from the table. And... asks for a tip prior to getting food or even seeing a server. The descriptions were not descriptive enough for what you were ordering. And since you don't talk to anyone, you can't ask questions. We didn't see a person working until our order went in and she brought us our water. The server was grumpy and no help. Also, the drinks only came in bottles, so there weren't any refills available. A solid option for post hike food that has more than just burgers. We arrived for a late lunch from Zion and there was plenty of seating, indoors and outdoors. You order and then get seated at a table with your number. They have a menu of burgers, salads, sandwiches, tacos, and rotisserie chicken. We opted for the half chicken with potatoes and arugula, which was filling for two people who are not huge eaters; the arugula was mixed into the potatoes. The sweet potato hummus and veggies/pita bread was also quite refreshing and good. There's an hour free parking in a private lot. Had a nice outdoor lunch here before going out to Zion. The view from their patio is gorgeous. Note the parking lot is before the restaurant if it is on your right side, we easily missed it. Parking is not abundant and there is a one hour limit. The service was neither good nor bad. You order at the counter and they bring you your food and drinks. No greeting, no smiles, nobody checks on you. I like that they brought us jugs of water. Ice would have been ideal given the almost 100 degree weather. Food took a while to come out but that's okay. I got their roasted pork entree. The pork was slightly dry and needed salt, but the chimichurri helped with flavor. The kale under it was fantastic!! The grits it came with were okay. It wasn't giving "grits" but more like a dry rice. The burger was good, we ordered it plain with just sauce and it was a good size and the beef was flavorful. We also got the kids chicken tenders and they were actually very delicious and tasted fresh. My one year old daughter loved the fries. Overall it's a nice lunch spot with great views. We had our Christmas dinner here this year while traveling through Zion's National Park. The burger was fantastic. Great cook and flavors and I loved the bun. The fries were a good texture, just served a little too cold for my liking. My husband didn't care for the lemonade, which had a very natural taste to it, but I did. I could see where they were trying to go with the banana bread pudding, however it was way too dry to consume. The peach cobbler was good. Reasons I would make a stop here: the burger and the service. The staff were fantastic and very fun, energetic and kind. They were perfectly present throughout our meal and time there. Great location, great options, friendly service. Modern cafe style -- walk up to counter to order, then find a table. They bring the food out and cleanup after. There are plenty of tables inside the dining room with large windows all around to enjoy the views from within the AC. But there are also nice tables on the patio outside. The burgers were surprisingly delicious... restaurant quality with the flavor of a guilty pleasure greasy bar burger (but this one is not at all greasy). Salads and sandwiches in the party were all great, and after a long hike it all hit the spot. If you're staying at the adjacent Dessert Pearl Inn, there's a little discount. The drinks are a little weak, but not really surprised about that, they still tasted good. Overall, a great find. I'd definitely come back. read more

The food we got: + Camp Burger ($17.95) (4/5): Juicy and tender meat! Also served with super crispy fries which was appreciated. + Brussel Sprouts ($8.95) (5/5): These were ADDICTING. I'm not a huge brussel sprout person but there was soooomething about the way they made the brussel sprouts that made me unable to stop eating them lol. A must try for sure! While it was great, there was a little too much dressing. I'd ask for it on the side. Also there was supposed to be to be cauliflower... I think I saw a chunk of cauliflower that looked like a small chunk of cheese. Also- it was super light on most of the fixings except the greens and quinoa.
