    Spicy Stuffed Jalapeños
    Joshua A.

Just finished hiking Zion and needed a spot to replenish my appetite. I wasn't starving but was absolutely ready to eat. Saw this Tex-Mex place nearby and thought sure why not. Nothing too crazy, but they have multiple solid entree. I ordered the stuffed jalapeños as appetizers to start and I don't know why but I expected to be breaded. Let's just say I did not read the description. Still good, but phew it was seriously spicy, so come prepared. The jalapeños came out so quick even the person serving us was surprised, no complaints there. It came so quick I didn't even get beer yet. For the main I went with the 3 for $23: chicken enchiladas, al pastor tacos, and the wagyu tacos. None of them disappointed. The standout was the crunch the veggies had in the tacos, it really elevated the whole bite. Going in, I wasn't expecting San Diego-style tacos, and that's the right mindset to have. These are Tex-Mex tacos done well on their own terms. Ambiance was really chill when we got there we beat the crowd and it had a relaxed, laid-back vibe. By the time we left the parking lot was completely packed, looked like there wasn't a single spot available. Glad we got there when we did.

We enjoyed a dinner and drinks during our visit to the area. Solid food and amazing, friendly service. We opted to sit at the bar which was so the right choice. We enjoyed the vibe. Food was outstanding. Drinks were delish!

Really tiny parking lot, so you are better walking there or taking a shuttle near. We got the last space even at 5:30 pm. Popular restaurant. We got a table outside. The white sangria sounded good but didn't have much flavor. The swordfish tacos - tasted fresh with pineapple salsa in corn tortillas came with black beans, and rice. My husband got 2 enchiladas, beans, salad - filling. The Chocolate Bundt cake with molten chocolate and hot fudge and peppermint ice cream wasn't the best tasting one we have had - no rich chocolate flavor. Michaela, our server, was nice.

Cute place in Springdale. The weather was nice so we sat on the patio. The food was okay, oddly our favorite was the pasta and not the traditional Mexican fare.

Great food, beautiful artwork, slow service and overpriced. This is one of the nicer restaurants in Springdale, but $140 for two is too much! We did order chips-and-salsa, two beers, chicken salad, and two Ono fish taco plates. I do like the amount of indoor seating and they had a beautiful outdoor seating area that wraps around the back side of the restaurant with a grassy area and fire pit as well.

Not outstanding, but better than average Mexican. I loved that they had one creative dish with sweet potato and mushroom tamales. Looks like they used to have a vegan cream sauce, but sadly I didn't see it on the menu this time. Margarita tasted weak, but actually packed a punch.

Visited the restaurant as my boyfriend and I stayed in Springdale for the weekend! Bit & Spur has such a nice vibe, decor and lights. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was very nice and checked on us frequently. I really loved the blueberry lemonade, it was so tart and not too sweet. My boyfriend got the prickly pear special margarita and also liked it! Chips and salsa plus guacamole was very good and hit the spot. Chips reminded us of Chili's! My boyfriend got three different tacos (1 al pastor, 1 wagyu beef, and 1 tequila chicken) and I got two of the vegan tacos. We both agreed the rice and beans were very good. The only thing that's missing is that my boyfriend didn't go crazy over his two tacos - wagyu beef & the chicken tequila weren't his favorite. The wagyu beef was a bit greasy, and the chicken was a little dry. BUT - he did enjoy the al pastor tacos! He said he would've preferred three of the al pastor tacos, but obviously it's our first time so he wanted to try them all. My tacos were good but spicy! I think including a note about slight spice would be good because the heat built and I'm not sure what was spicy about them. But I loved the corn tortillas. Overall this place was good. I'd come back!

Bit and Spur -- stopped here for a quick dinner on our last night in Springdale and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Food: We started with chips and salsa that had a surprisingly spicy kick, followed by the roasted poblano mac and cheese, which had a fantastic blend of flavors and richness. My wife ordered the wagyu beef tacos and really enjoyed them. Everything came out fresh and well-prepared. ‍ Service: Our waitress, Shilo, was awesome. Super kind, efficient, and clearly juggling a lot of tasks with a smile. Aesthetic: The restaurant has a warm Tex-Mex charm with cozy indoor seating and great outdoor tables, perfect for taking in the Springdale evening atmosphere.

We were staying at Flanigans for the night to visit Zion and didn't want to drive so we walked 1 mi each way (kinda far but thats ok). Wanted to get food and cocktails to end the night of hiking. They had a fresh watermelon margarita special that night so I got it. Hubby got meatloaf, I got the shrimp pasta with capers, my son got the tacos and we got taco salad to share. Servings are good for sharing, guess we were starving. To end the meal, we got the brownie creme brulee. So yummy. At least the walk back helped coz we ate too much! Nice Tex Mex restaurant

Great food and cute atmosphere for a meal after exploring Zion! Really enjoyed my tacos and the kind service. The only thing lacking was the taste of the margarita. It tasted like orange juice to me. Otherwise, a great spot that I recommend!

Probably everything I have to say has already been said in other reviews... The chips were fresh & crunch - we devoured 2 bowls (and probably could have eaten a 3rd). I went with the chipotle chicken pasta dish. My server warned me it was creamy & heavy, so I knew what I was getting myself into. But it was also SOOO tasty. I honestly wanted almost everything on the menu, and was sad we only went here one night! We sat on the front patio, which was very nice. I have a feeling the back has better ambiance, though.

I think this is the most happening restaurant and bar in the vicinity. There is a popular speakeasy and brewery in the area but this restaurant seems like a main stay for the resident restaurant workers and visitors. I adore that they feature Utah made spirits and beers. There is a main restaurant seating area and a "bar" area. The bar area requires a snack/meal to be ordered. (Utah law). We shared a yummy corn side dish that doubled as dessert! Others ordered chips and salsa.

The waitress explained that their menu switches over to lunch at 11:30. That's certainly one of the latest I've ever seen! At any rate, we were happy to wait the extra 10-15 minute wait for the kitchen switchover. At this point the place wasn't too crowded at all all, and just as promised, we were able to place our order at 11:40. Garlic Burger ($18) - This is a huge plate of food with a mound of fries and one gigantic burger. The burger starts with a soft bun, lightly toasted on both sides, which is then piled up with onion and plenty of piquant pickles, making the burger extra tangy. There's a weak creamy mayo/mustard mixture that soaks the veggies, followed by a giant half pound burger patty on top. It's slightly pink in the center, but is somehow dry. It doesn't have much of a grilled/char flavor, nor much of a beefy flavor either. The patty is large but disappointing in flavor and execution. There's a pitiful spoonful of garlic on top of the patty. It such a small amount it's almost indistinguishable in flavor and texture - in fact, I didn't even know there was any garlic until I deconstructed the burger. That's a very poor showing for a burger with "garlic" in the name. On top of the garlic is a thick slice of melted cheese, more mayo/mustard, a small bed of shredded lettuce (complete with shreds falling out all over even before being brought to our table), and a couple of tomato slices. There's plenty of mayo/mustard sauce for the sandwich, enough to overcome how dry the meat is. The sandwich comes with a choice of regular or sweet potato fries, of which we went with the former. They are standard food service battered fries, not fried long enough to give any coloring to the exterior, making them extra pale and soft. We asked for a side of fry sauce which we found to be thin, watery, and drippy. (2/5) Pork Tamales ($22) - This dish comes with a side salad, which came immediately to the table. It's a pretty large portion for a side salad and includes plenty of romaine, full cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, charred corn, olives, and a pile of shredded carrot in an extremely tangy and slightly sweet dressing. The dressing is both way too acidic and way too watery for my tastes. It's so overdressed that a large puddle of dressing remained after finishing the salad. The tamales aren't very good either. They are doused in a green chile sauce that's only added after being blasted in whatever cooking appliance they use. The masa feels woefully under-steamed. It's quite coarse in texture and is hard, dry, and crumbly. It's so hard it's almost crunchy. The tamales seem to be pan fried on both sides, or perhaps broiled in a salamander for far too long. The green chile inside isn't even that flavorful, making the tamales a bland disappointment. There's a bed of shredded pork underneath the two tamales. The pork is not as far gone as the tamales. It's a little stringy and dry, but still retains at least a minimum amount of moisture. The pork has a pleasing pink/red tinge, but isn't smoky whatsoever. The overall profile doesn't display much in terms of spices, and the flavor of the pork itself isn't my favorite. I have a feeling that this is microwaved food service pork rather than being made in house. On top of everything is a chile verde sauce. It's again not that flavorful, with more acidity than anything else. There's absolutely zero heat - it's one of the most mild green chile sauces I've had. I feel like the dish could be improved a little if they simmered the pork in the green chile to help layer the flavors more. Unfortunately they are clearly cooked and assembled in a modular manner to save on ingredient cost. On the side is brown rice, actually cooked with green chile, and tender black beans that are appropriately salted. (2/5) Tip: If most people are sitting on the patio, I recommend not asking for an indoor seat. We were basically ignored by the waitress after we got our food since we were the only customers sitting inside. Also, get here earlier for fastest seating. By the time we left half past noon, the place was bustling with the entire patio being full of patrons. Oscar's Cafe serves huge portions with mediocre to bad quality. It's definitely a quantity over quality type of place and seems to be catered towards people who are scared of flavor and spices. I certainly would not return. Bathrooms - Single unisex room in the restaurant itself, but there are more in the mercantile area.

Then the coconut shrimp - crispy on the outside, tender inside, with that sweet coconut flavor that pairs amazingly with the dipping sauce. Such a tasty twist. But the star for me was the chimichurri ribeye steak - cooked just right, super tender, and the chimichurri sauce brought bright, herby freshness that cut through the richness perfectly. One of the best steaks I've had in a casual spot like this. Everything felt fresh and housemade, portions were generous, and the vibe is chill and welcoming. Funny thing is that it's such a small request that can easily be taken care of immediately. Okay the highlight was the wild game meatloaf which was also the saving grace because I normally don't like meatloaf and this one was really well done.
