Side salad with house made ranch
    Nicole K.

Diner atmosphere, friendly service, food was good but nothing fancy. The shrimp po boy was spicier than expected which made my mouth burn a bit. House ranch for salad was deelish. My son gobbled down his fish dinner without complaint. Husband got a pork tenderloin sandwich. Giant piece of pork on bread, but no toppings. Not sure if that's what he was expecting. Other son got some dry dusted wings and devoured them! Would probably go again, but might order differently for myself next time.

    Sirloin 12oz & Sweet Potato

My wife and I decided to try out this restaurant because of all the signs around Hocking Hills. I'll be honest, I try not to judge a book by it's cover (most small town diners don't look very appealing on the outside, but the food is usually amazing. This wasn't the case here. I ordered a sirloin steak with a sweet potato. My wife ordered the shrimp skewers. Her shrimp was a bit on the small side and a little salty. She did say that the amount of shrimp made up for the size. My steak was a bit chewy but huge. The flavor was good, but unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations from all the hype and being a "steakhouse". It was just a very good portion. The sweet potato was decent, but again, nothing spectacular. I wouldn't say it was awful, just not what I was hoping for.

The first thing I will say about this place is the waitress (didn't see any waiters), they were so nice and very good. Now, for the food, it good but not great. The prices I would say are fair for what you are getting. The 32oz draft is always a plus but the nachos I would not order, pretty basic and not all that great. The Jacks sirloin was good, my steak was cooked properly but my wife's was not. The steak also did not have a lot of flavor and would need steak sauce in my opinion. The baked potato was good and my wife had Mac n Cheese and fires which was once again decent. I will say the food came out quick and was very hot and our waitress was very good and kind. This place seems to be a local watering hole and I would say you go there for the atmosphere and a good time, food second.

    Very good steak and sides

This is NOT a steakhouse. It is a bar. I wouldn't waste time going here. We waited an hour and half for our food and it was ice cold.

45 minute wait for the daily special and it was not good when it finally arrived. Save yourself some aggravation and eat elsewhere.

The atmosphere reminds me of The Brick in Northern Exposure. That is a plus. However, the food is overpriced.

Food was way overpriced for what we got. Service was good. This place needs a makeover if they are going to charge these prices.

Overall, the food was sub-par, and some of the staff was bothered to have to help. Worst coleslaw EVER!

The waitress was wonderful. The food was overpriced and tough. Prime rib was like rawhide.

They charged $4 for dressing for a steak salad. Cheesecake was $6 per their posted board. We were charged $12. Won't be returning.

Not realizing that outside was covered patio we first opted to sit inside but then we noticed the covered patio and requested to be seated outside and thanks to our lucky stars, the hostess obliged and we got seated outside in the covered patio to enjoy the perfect Memorial weekend weather. We ordered some drinks (not pictured) - I ordered an Espresso Martini while husband ordered a beer, friends ordered a couple of other drinks - a berry smash, a Sauvignon and more beer for the guys. The cocktails were amazing and delicious. We ordered a couple of shareables (Tirokafteri and Colcannon Cakes) as well which were both of course were so scrumptious that we forgot to click pics! So I made sure I clicked pics of as many mains/ entrees I could. A friend and I, ordered fried chicken sandwiches (his with fries, mine with chips, I also asked my brioche be subbed with Sourdough which both our waitress and chef were kind enough to comply), husband ordered a 58 burger, another friend ordered the Italian Chicken flatbread and another ordered a Portobello entree with a side of Caprese salad (added grilled Chicken). The fried chicken was ok, I've had better ones and unfortunately for me it gave me a bad tum as I spent the rest of the day feeling queasy. The husband said his burger was amazing, the flatbread, portobello and caprese were all absolutely delectable. Thankfully everyone enjoyed their lunch including kiddos who had Mac and cheese and a cheese pizza.

Drinks are extra, and there's also a small $1-2 supplemental fee added on, which felt a little odd since it could probably just be included in the buffet price. The food itself is very classic home-style comfort food with lots of options. Nothing super fancy or out of the ordinary, but everything tasted fresh and the buffet was constantly being refilled every few minutes. We also got the iced sweet teas, which seemed to be really popular since almost every table had one. One unique thing -- the entrance and exit are through the gift shop, and you also pay there at the end of your meal, which definitely adds to the old-school country restaurant experience. Our waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the meal, too. Overall, worth the stop for the experience and comforting homemade-style food while visiting Logan.

This place was hopping but somehow everything flowed smoothly. We tried a little bit of everything- chicken and noodles, salad, stewed tomatoes, asparagus, has brown casserole, pie, etc. my husband seemed to really enjoy their fried chicken. They also offer a menu you can order from a la carte. The buffet was so extensive that we ended up sticking with it. I only hold off on the fifth star because some of the food was over salted and/or overcooked (especially the veggies- asparagus, cauliflower, etc).
