Chose this place because we were taking a fall foliage ride on the Hocking Valley, Scenic Railway. We ask for a reservation at 5:15 and arrived slightly after disbarking. We were seated immediately in an empty restaurant, and attended to by an obviously new waitress. This is a very small restaurant that is, obviously trying to be upscale. That said the menu lacks diversity and his price for upscale, but it's not seasoned nor served in such a fashion. Given our experience, we would've preferred to return to Logan to the Home Tavern for some really good food. When questioned about the menu, she was unfamiliar with what a caper was and was unable to explain the dish stating she's never tasted it! read more

The food is always good as is the service. It's the nicest place in town to eat or have a couple drinks.

We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation and was seated right away. The wait staff were very helpful, professional, and personable. I ordered the white truffle risotto with salmon and my husband ordered the scallops. Both the salmon and scallops were cooked PERFECTLY! Really impressed! The bill at the end was a nice surprise as we're used to paying a lot more for such quality food. After a long day of hiking Hocking Hills, this was the hidden gem for amazing food we needed! The Rhapsody Restaurant has an incredible menu that left me wanting to try more than one thing. We started with the Mac and Cheese croquettes, which were FANTASTIC! I ordered the lemon pepper snapper and my partner enjoyed the hibachi steak. Everything was great, and our sever was very attentive. I usually hate live music, but the musician was very relaxing. We were very surprised how few people were in there on a Friday night. Came here for our 10 year anniversary and didn't have the best experience. My wife's food overall was salty, she had ordered a rare steak (steak was medium at most) and shrimp scampi with fries. About halfway through the steak my wife had found bits of plastic in her melted butter. I ordered the fish and chips and my fries were cold and my fish was so battered it looked like a fish corndog with a little bit of raw batter inside. We called and they told us to come at 8:15 and we showed up about 30 minutes early and there were probably 6 tables open so they took us early which was much appreciated! We ordered calamari and dinner bread for appetizers. Calamari was good, the dinner bread was good but the cinnamon butter was more like Crisco, no butter or cinnamon flavor at all! Stopped in late after a great day visiting our daughter at OU. We decided to split the Slab salad. Their take on a wedge salad. Loved the blue cheese dressing and the crispy onion bits. My wife had pasta and meatballs and I ordered the bang bang chicken (panko crusted chicken) in a sweet and spicy sauce over a bed of fried rice. Our entrees came out piping hot. The food was very disappointing! The coconut shrimp appetizer was over-cooked and had little flavor. Got the spicy meatloaf which was also over-cooked with a very unique, unappealing flavor. Our server was friendly, but when asked about the menu item, "sautéed vegetables", she first reported "cucumbers," but then reported it was "zucchini" when helped by diner. Item was served and it was flavorless, under-sautéed broccoli.... Had very high hopes based on reviews, but was disappointed veey much with the food. Would not recommend. While on a Hocking Hills getaway weekend with my wife, we decided to give this place a go, in the (somewhat) rundown little town of Nelsonville right on their main square. The town was once home to the famous Star Brick company, and the square's street are lined with them (see my attached picture). The interior is very modern and chic, and a woman playing guitar and singing in the back was a lovely touch to the evening. This restaurant is a culinary institute for chefs and servers in-training. I started my meal with the summer vegetable Minestrone soup... it lacked an overall depth of flavor and was more broth-like than tomato-based but it was fresh and satisfying. For the main meal I ordered one of their signature dishes the Bricktown chicken under a brick. It was served with sauteed spinach and pommes frites (the chicken had a great sauce on it that also paired well with the bitterness of the greens). My wife's special (mushroom and cheese ravioli's) were tasty and filling with a nice cream sauce on top. An unexpected find for the area...I hope it continues to do well and draw people in. read more

Just no. While service was excellent, the food was overpriced and overcooked. A steak ordered medium rare was well done. My burger was TINY. I ordered it without a bun so maybe the bun would have disguised how small my burger was--not even 1/4 pound. The fries that came with the steak were plain and tasteless. Parmesan garlic?? Not even a hint of either. And "business casual" dress suggestion? Straw and excrement covered farmers sat at the bar and were not out of place and were very very loud. Don't bother. read more

Things started out well as we got drink orders and dinner orders in . Unfortunately, our waitress/ bartender brought drinks and salads and forgot about us for an Hour. We watched all other tables being attended to and meals arriving promptly. After asking the host ( not our waitress)to refill water and get more drinks she mentioned it was a wait due to a nine top ahead of us. OK. Thanks for the heads up.....long story short still another half hour for food to arrive. Salmon delicious and hot Ravioli great. Fish n chips. Cold and fries stale . Went to Rhapsody Music & Dining - Nelsonville with my little family and our neighbors excited to experience jazz night. When I asked for seating for our two kids and infant, the manager came out: "It's jazz night. I can't make it any quieter in here." Me: "I'm not asking for you to make it quieter, I would like a table." Manager: "It will be this loud all evening." Me: "I understand that. I just want a table." We get a table. I tell them my husband went to get the car so we could put our stroller in it. 3 minutes later, I am asked to move my stroller because it is visually in the way of the band for other customers. As someone who works with people with disabilities, I believe it is so important to be accommodating to people with wheelchairs, walkers and other modes of transportation that are not always convenient for others. This includes strollers. We were so infuriated with how we were treated, especially as paying customers and Nelsonville residents. This is extremely disappointing. And our kids were phenomenal- no tears, no screaming. They just were enjoying the beautiful jazz music. But we left because the environment was toxic and we clearly were not wanted. If jazz night is not for children, then effing advertise it as such. Rhapsody management was rude, inhospitable and quite frankly infuriating. Do not recommend if you have small children. read more

They have clear signs for entering and exiting through separate doors to keep people from unnecessarily having to walk past one another, employees were all wearing masks correctly, and we had our choice of three outside tables that were appropriately spaced and allowed for lots of fresh air circulation. Excess tables inside had been moved/removed so that parties were seated a good distance apart. Restroom facility was very clean. My family and I went on a pretty Sunday afternoon and ate outside. My sister got the crab benedict, which I stole a bit of and it was AMAZING. My Impossible burger was excellent, but I would have gone just for the fries. Our server was personable, efficient, and kind of fun. Would love to go back sometime for dinner and a cocktail. read more

This was a VERY great choice! Great food and we loved the music! I had the salmon and my husband had the pork chop. The salmon was hot off the grill and I mean HOT! So good! The sides weren't listed on the menu, but it came with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, both of which were delicious. My husband also loved his meal, which came with the same sides. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly seasoned! We tried the seasonal drinks (Irish Apple Mule and Muddy Pumpkin) and they were spot on. But the absolute BEST part of the meal was the dessert: Flourless Chocolate Tarte! OH! MY! GOODNESS! Amazing! We had great service and smiles all around throughout our meal. My husband and I ate here before the Arlo Guthrie concert in December. It is associated with the Culinary school and is staffed by students. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, it was very high quality. We shared had a potato soup, a scallop appetizer, the specialty salad and a beef dish - the menu changes constantly so it won't hurt you that I don't have the exact names. Everything was pretty amazing. The dishes are extremely rich, but quite good and flavorful, sharing our selections worked out great because of the richness. They have a full bar and wine and beer selections. We ate at the bar because we had not made reservations. Reservations are recommended since the restaurant is on the small side, especially on concert nights (Stuart's Opera House). I would allow a sold two hours if you are planning on a full meal. We got there a few minutes after 6, and walked out just a few minutes before 8 for our concert. They were well staffed, but busy, and it is a teaching restaurant, so while the service was good and the food excellent, it wasn't as smooth as say Lindey's in Columbus. That said, the food was Lindey's quality for a fraction of Lindey's prices. (Sorry - not knocking Lindey's which I love, but it's a good comparison for food quality). read more

My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant on and off for about 5 to 6 years. We have enjoyed it every time except today. We had to wait almost an hour for our dinners to come. They misplaced the ticket. When it came the pan seared chicken breast was two pieces with one having a large bone it it when asked they said it was airline breast. I have flown over one million miles and had never gotten a piece of chicken with a bone it it. Then the young lady said that she would compensate us for the delay with a free desert and guess what nothing.
