I feel the blood & chi are not able to flow up to my brain: thus I also have constant headache, ear-ringing, thinning hair & pale cheeks. My first visit to a chiropractor was about 20 years ago with a crippling injury from weight lifting. Initially I didn't think a whole lot of the practice because it seemed very one dimentional; as in low back gets "this" treatment. Years later I found myself in a gym with a chiropractic office on site and I was introduced to the wonderful world of deep tissue work which has helped me through my back injuries. Gil's deep tissue work has helped me in 3 visits accomplish what I had been limping through for about 18 months. I bulged 2 discs in my lower back that had been pushing on the nerve and causing leg pain varying at times from 3-8 on the pain scale. I have had workers comp approved therapies including an ablation and several epidurals along with paying for some therapies on my own in an effort to alleviate my pain. Finally I got approval for chiropractic and sought out Gil who I knew did the kind of work that got me back up and running from my last injury of the same nature 9 years prior. One visit assured me of my correct choice. I walked out feeling immense relief after having some bound up muscles released and scar tissue broken up. Dr. Gill is everyone's friend and you don't need to call him Dr. He spends the time you need to get better. He listens and will recommend other services if that is what you need. I had a bad problem with plantar fasciitis. I would walk a couple of miles a day but have pain in my feet standing up after sitting or sleeping. I tried may popular internet remedies with little success. Gil found the right treatment and I now walk 5 to 10 miles a day without foot pain. Okay Folks, finding a good chiropractor is right up there wth finding a good mechanic, a dentist, or a date. The process is hit or miss and can quickly becomes costly. I've been to two other chiropractors and wonder how those other two stay in business. The first one kept insisting I buy his "Snake Oil" products, and kept doing these "tests" to see if my body liked different minerals. For example, he had me hold a bottle of vitamins in front of me with my arms stretched out, and if he could not press my arms down, that supposedly meant that my body did not like that particular vitamin. While I heard about similar "tests" it became clear that this guy was just full of his charlatan ways. He was neither effective nor convincing. I am shaking my head as I write this... . And the other, well let's just say, she had the touch of warm jello. She was able to get one "click" from her many futile attempts to help my spine. So I made my appointment with Gil, whom I'd seen several times before. I tried the other two because they were located in Oakland, which is closer to me than Lafayette, but the drive was well worth it. Gil and Stacey's staff is warm, courteous and professional, their office is comfortable, and their clients seem happy as they are leaving-- a good sign!! I had been diagnosed with degenerating cervical (neck) discs in 2007 and experience significant pain from pinched nerves and muscular misalignment throughout my body that this condition has caused. I have issues with my neck, shoulders, upper and ower back. Gil is very intuitive, competent, and skilled. He is able to provide treatment quickly but not hurriedly. I sing the same praises as his other clients when they say that the muscular and skeletal creaks and cracks they have when they arrive, are gone after getting treatment-- I always feel great when I leave the place-- almost giddy.
