Perhaps the thing that I like the most is how quickly they can accommodate and scale. While they were working on some cabinetry, I mentioned to their lead the flooring needed some fixes. Boom - their flooring guy is there the next day fixing the bad floor planks at the same hourly rate. They seem to have a large roster of motivated workers that show up on time and do the job to spec. I've had trouble with crews not showing or not finishing the job over the years - but not with Amador's. I was told long ago by family to never hire contractors on an hourly basis because costs can spiral. And before I knew what I was doing as a homeowner I might've been inclined to follow this advice. But Amador's charges a reasonable rate and works with efficiency - so this is how I work with them. I even trust them to let other workers into the house and report on their work. A lot of this comes down to whoever your point of contact is. On the most recent job, that's been Leo, and he is exceptional: attentive to detail, diligent, organized. Other companies were a bit way too much for what my mom wanted to do, although nice to be aware of other options but it wasn't what she wanted and the quote was double to triple what Steve quoted. Steve was able to schedule out 3-4 weeks for our paint job, he called a couple days before to let us know when he'd be out. First day was power wash and walk through of what colors my mom wanted and where each color would go specifically. My mom is pretty agreeable to anything and she was going to let Steve decide but he told her "I want you to be happy with it." I appreciated that, shows he wanted his customer to be satisfied and not just get the job done. Steve's team did everything he said would be done, made sure to cover and mask off everything. Walk through was done and only a few little spots my mom wanted touched up and Steve took care of it. My mom enjoyed talking to his team and they appreciated it as well.
