I get that this is students. I was lucky enough to get a good haircut here so I wanted to get my…read moreeyelashes permed and colored too. Guess what, my lashes didn't perm at all, not even a curve. I lay down and basically the student put on the perm solution too early or did it poorly, no worries the instructor comes in and fixes it because they don't want to overprocess my lashes they don't leave it on that long that's fine. The student proceeds to do a poor hand massage and poor neck massage, that's fine, again learning. She then takes forever to clean up my eyes why because she applied the dye very poorly which required so much clean up that when I got up I still looked like a raccoon, that's fine, learning. I get up, my lashes didn't even curve. Not even a little bit. I'm upset obviously because I just spent 1.5 hours on this table to look EXACTLY THE SAME. The instructor comes in too explain what happened and again I get it but you didn't give me this explanation before I laid down? No disclaimers no nothing. She said okay my advisor isn't here but we want to make this right we want you to come in again and fix this. So NICOLE calls me this morning and is like I'm so sorry blah blah blah I was like okay I'll schedule my next appt, the instructor had mentioned complimentary. She's like no most we can do is 20% off, I was like alright please kindly leave me alone than.

Came in for a 60 min facial followed by a haircut. This is my first time coming to an Aveda school…read more Facial- relaxing and good flow. i wish there was more shoulder massage but it was professional and enjoyable. Haircut- i wanted to get a trim, long layers, and face framing strands. I loved my haircut but it took much longer than i expected. I saw the reviews and people have said it took long so I made sure to have an ample amount of time, I was just starving haha. I appreciated the students for being so diligent and careful with the service. Instructors definitely knew what they were doing and checking the haircut. Would I come back? Yes i would. For the price, its for a good cause, and close to where i live!

This is such a great barber shop! I have been getting my haircut here since 2016. It used to be…read moreRofflers and was owned by Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown was a great owner and fun to talk to. He would sometimes cut my hair and give a tutorial to the students when I would come in. A year or two post Covid I came in and saw that the layout had changed. Mr. Brown told me he was retiring and he had sold the shop. I got to meet the new owner. I read online he owns it and this former instructor that used to work there named Lauren advised that Mr. Findley ( maybe Finley) Is also part owner. He owns a barber shop here in Austin. The newer owner goes by the name Coach. He is a great guy and is always fun to visit with when I go in. Coach has built on the business and fundamentals that Rofflers had and made the new business Impact Barber College more modern. They have big fans in there and big bright lights. I'm guessing the bright lights help the students cut better. Coach has also added cross overs. These are stylist that come to impact for further training to get their barber license. This added the shop others services such as facials, nose-ear waxing. They also offer straight razor shaves. My skin is to sensitive to get one, but they are nice when getting a straight razor shave on the neck. I've meet some of the instructors. There is Tabitha and Elaina. They are nice and always fun to talk to. The students have all been great to talk to also! I've seen many students come and go the past almost 9 years and wish em all the best. The price went up from 7 to 11 dollars a cut. That's not a big deal, it's just that times are changing and they gotta pay the bills also just like all of us do . A standard barber shop charges around 40 to 50 a cut so this is still a good value. Even places like Supercuts charge around 30 a cut so coming here is worth it. In the 9 years I've only had like 2 bad cuts but hey there are students and in 2 weeks it will grow back. I get a high fade, with a 3 on top and a 4 in the front. The bad cuts weren't the students error, I just hadn't been thorough in what I asked for. Sometimes coach puts me with newer students in the back as I guess I have an easy cut. These newer students do a good job also. The shop has a TV and they play games on the weekends. Stuff like football and college sports. We all love sports here in Texas so that's nice to get a cut and glance over at the game. The students are great and you can tip them. I usually tip 50% and use Venmo or Cash app. It's almost 2025 many of us don't carry cash anymore. Sometimes if they do a good job I'll also go next door and get them a coffee at monkey nest. There are other regulars I see at the shop. This place is great and I would recommend 100% coming here. I usually go in the early mornings on weekends. Saturday is my day of choice as it's busier on weekends and if you go early there are more available barbers with a lower wait time to get a cut. Thank you Rofflers and Impact Barber college for the past 9 years! As long as the shop stays open I will be coming here...and I don't see it going away for a very, very long time.

Said he loved helping young struggling guys on their path to respectful gents! All this was prioritized before even discussing the barber content. It was plan to see Coach was a genuine guy from the friends and family present. Ended that day feeling very grateful, definitely a day well spent! Visit # 2 A student of mine had mentioned, cutting hair was something he liked to do! Since he was my student, I, also was aware he wasn't doing his best in school. So I reached out to Coach, who's answered quick, saying bring him for a mentor day! After seeing everything Coach did for this kid, I was emotionally blown away. Coach's students treated him as equal, making this young kid feel confident and safe! Got to know him, let him sit in on class, a free cut that had him feeling great. And to top it off, gifted him clippers, shook his hand, and told him straight. He's got a scholarship to attend there, after his eligible birthdate! -- since then there has been more visits, and our young friend is doing fine! Thank you Coach and Students for going beyond what's asked and/or assigned!
