I have been to Jackson's three times and twice I.have felt like I was getting kicked out on a Saturday night at 10:30. The chairs go up on the tables and I get to smell bleach as the floors are washed. Please note that I'm still eating at this point. I understand everyone wants to go home, but, because this is the second time this has happened, I feel compelled to write. The food is good, but, not that good. Dissappointed....We started with the apps... dumplings,soup ,salad and wings all was going great till our dinner came out ..ribs were fatty and dry as if there were prepared some time ago ..and that Saturday prime rib special was as tough as a piece of meat can get..I'm not one to make a scene but it bothered me that I wasn't questioned why no one ate there meals and I chose not to take anything home. I had my 50 th birthday party at Jackson's. Harry( the owner) was terrific. He helped plan the party with great suggestions for the menu. He obviously knows his stuff. All the food was excellent. The guests that had never been there before, couldn't stop raving about the food. The private party room was perfect. The staff had all my decorations up and in place before I arrived. In addition to the excellent food, the drinks were awesome. I highly recommend Jackson's for dinner or a private party. Harry went out of his way to make it perfect. read more

Jackson's is top notch. Went to Jackson's on Friday, 11/6 for dinner with my 2 children and my girlfriend. I got the Striped Bass special (freshly caught) which was out of this world. Absolutely exploding with flavor. I've been to Jackson's well over a hundred times, but this meal was so extraordinary, it drove me to leave this review. Jackson's always has great appetizer specials, including the jumbo Bavarian pretzel. Their happy hour (happens twice a day, 4 to 7 and 9 to 10) is great. Our office Christmas dinner was on Sat Dec 9, 2017. What a terrible experience mostly due to a very rude & nasty waitress. We didn't get her name, but she has a bleached section of hair in the front. She made it very clear she had absolutely no desire to accommodate us! There were about 25-30 of us & we were all spoken to rudely by this waitress. We're all at the office today sharing our experiences with her. The bartender didn't have a functioning blender, no Malibu Rum! If you got out of your seat at any point to go socialize at the other end of the table you were yelled at by this waitress! She wanted us to stay seated in our designated seats & not to move! WTF??? We're all calling her Cruella DeVille!!! There was an extra appetizer brought out that had 3 buffalo wings on a plate, she took that away. We were supposed to have the room till 11pm. We were getting rushed with our food ridiculously. Turns out, they decided to kick us out by 10 because of the weather. We had an ice cream sundae bar for dessert. That was a joke!! You got a half of a scoop of ice cream with the worst choice of toppings I've ever seen!! They also cleaned it up & took it all away in less than 10mins, so if you were busy talking & didn't pay attention then you didn't get any dessert at all!!! We asked her if she could take our group picture & she was clearly annoyed at having to do that one favor for us. We all left there very disappointed in the whole evening. Hadn't been here in awhile and surprised at how crowded it was given the mediocre food and service. Seemed to have a large happy hour crowd. We previously had a couple of nice meals here well over a year ago. The two of us sat at the bar - not once did anyone wipe the bar down (even though the people before us had eaten there). It was sticky and had drink spills all over it. The two bartenders seemed completely overwhelmed and were very slow. Ours didn't seem to know how to use the order management system to place our dinner order, asked us to repeat our order and name several times and simply looked like she was miserable being there. We were served my husband's salad with our entrees which was weird. Usually when ordering a steak the Caesar salad would come first we thought? My cheese burger was pretty good but the fries were greasy, undercooked and unappetizing. My husband's steak was not very good - just didn't seem like a quality piece of meat. And his "steak fries" were nothing more than an Idaho potato, sliced into spears and cooked in the oven for very little time. The onion strings were greasy and not crispy. We have had much better meals at this price point and will go elsewhere in the future. Places like Old Field in Greenlawn, Chop Shop in Smithtown and Main St in Northport blow this place away. Normally we would have stayed and had a couple more drinks after we ate but we were so turned off by the depressing atmosphere that we left. Still tipped 20% since it's the holidays and didn't even get a "thank you" or "have a nice night" or "happy holidays" as we walked out. read more

I used to come here as a change of pace, when I was tired of my regular joints but now this place will become one of them. The char grilled steak sandwich is what dreams are made from. Sandwiches in garlic bread never let me down. Last night I had the cedar plank salmon which I enjoyed very much. I'm not a huge beer guy but they have a pretty good selection of craft beers. Thursday nights is trivia night and that can be fun. The bar staff is very friendly and the manager seems like he's a cool dude too. Looking forward to having more meals here. read more

LOADED NACHOS!!!! must get! they are so delicious, my mouth is watering right now as i am typing this review. i also tried the lobster roll on the butter biscuit, the lobster was good, the biscuit was so dry, it crumbled all on me. I love this place! Have been back many many times after going for the first time this past New Years. They have an awesome prix fixe menu available nights. Awesome beer, tap and bottle options! Blackboard in the dining room lists all the offerings they have that day or week. Drinks are always on point and worth the price. On some nights they have a guitarist by the bar which is nice and cozy. I would have gladly given it 5 stars but service can be spotty depending at the time you come. Sometimes you feel rushed and sometimes you feel right at home. Otherwise food and drinks are always delicious a must try! read more

Havent been here in years but decided to try it again. We were really hoping it was going to be great as we really like the menu. A visit on a Saturday night the place was fairly busy but the noise level is very high. Conversation at a booth isnt easy because of the noise level. A bowl of chips and a black bean dip was brought to the table by a very friendly server. It was good. Appetizer special described as soft pretzel with garlic parmesan crust wasnt as described. It was a very good pretzel, but a plain salt pretzel served with a good cheese sauce and marinara sauce. Yes, marinara sauce. I asked why it was served with marinara and was told because it has garlic parmesan crust. It was salted and the marinara didnt go with the pretzel. Note to management : Lose the marinara and replace with mustard. When the bill arrived this pretzel was $13. Too high for a salted pretzel. An entree of a bar steak sandwich was good, nothing great but it was good. Baked potato was also good. Entree of marinated skirt steak was not good at all. It was tough, chewy and tasted more of burnt smoke than steak or marinade. Side of spinach was not fully cooked. Mashed potatoes were good but the entree needed to be sent back. Instead of another steak jambalaya was ordered. It took over 20 minutes to get the replacement dish. Jambalaya was pretty good but considering the wife was completely done with her meal by the time I got an edible meal overall it was a disappointment. read more

Terrible service! Apps & drinks were not bad, entrees were terrible. We ordered sangrias, pretzel, french onion soup, brisket sandwich & fried chicken sandwich. I ordered the Fried chicken sandwich with macaroni and cheese, waitress said coleslaw and pickles came on the side & that it was a breast of chicken. We got our meals my sandwich came with fries and nothing on the sandwich. It was doused in buffalo sauce- they should call it a buffalo fried chicken sandwich- not what i was expecting. I had to ask someone else for dressing. 25 minutes after waiting for our waitress to appear, we complained. She blamed the kitchen and said sorry, nothing else. Never offered to wrap the mac and cheese & coleslaw or even comp something, maybe a dessert since it was vday. $100 bucks wasted honestly- we will never go back there. I was not very Impressed tonight I've been here several times in 3 years and consider it a place to go for drinks and apps. The drink special (vanilla pineapple creamsicle martini) was great. The Thai chicken lettuce wraps i usually love were disappointing this time. A poor choice of lettuce (iceberg) to use for wrapping and it was wilted and browned. You know those little white paper soufflé cups you get at mc Donald's to put ketchup in? That's the amount of cole slaw you get with the hamburger. Kitchen - when you use spinach in a dip you need to cut the stems off - that's basic 101 . And if you think the service is slow it's because one of the waitresses is hanging out in the ladies room - literally just standing around. I traveled to recently Long Island for a business trip, and was fortunate to find Jacksons. One of the great parts of traveling for my job is the chance to try local beers from around the country. For sure, Jacksons has a great tap list for beer nerds like me, and a tasty food menu too. On this night, I was lucky to find a group of people organized at the bar playing a board game. I was content to enjoy my Reuben, but a friendly bartender named Brittney encouraged me to play, and they all made me feel like a local. Can't say that I've had more fun, especially with a group of strangers, in all my years of business traveling. Thanks, Brittney! First time eating at Jackson's, family wanted to give it a try. Seated within 10 min. Very loud atmosphere, hard to have a conversation with people just sitting across from you. Our server, I wont mention his name, either had no teeth or his dog died earlier in the day because they did not smile one time or ever came over to our table during our 2 hour experience to ask if we were enjoying our meal or needed any additional napkins, soda etc. Food was just ok, nothing special. This restaurant USED to be very good. Service is terrible which is a real shame because the food is pretty good. The last time we were there was BEFORE covid and the service was terrible. Two weeks ago we decided to get take out, food was good but they did not give us the salad dressing for our salads (honestly it happens). Decided to go there for dinner tonight, we walked in and were the only ones waiting. We were told 15 min wait...no problem... after that 2 different parties came in who told the host that they had a reservation his response to both parties were "were running behind its going to he about 15-20 mins" again not crazy out of the ordinary. We were finally seated...as we sat there I watched about 2-3 employees who honestly did look like they were working hard move around the floor. I also saw 2 tables that looked like they also were getting frustrated with the service. 12 mins in and still not one person came over to our table I decided I was no linger going to spend my $$$ there and me and my family got up and left. I was going to just leave but as U was leaving I noticed who I thought to be the manager (dont know for sure) stock male, red Hawaiian type shirt & glass standing in front typing away on his phone oblivious to what was going on in the restaurant. I approached and informed him of what took place. Hes response was we are under staffed. Sorry but at 6:30 on a Friday night that is unacceptable not to mention this isnt the first time Iv had this problem. He had an extreme "I dont care" attitude and yelled at me as I was leaving as if it was my fault that I was making a complaint against the restaurant. Maybe the reason why the service sucks in this place is because of him. I honestly do hope that they can over come the service issue because the food is good and I would go back. So left there and webt to Prime Burger Bar down the street...service & food was excellent, I highly recommend going. read more

Jackson's is my family's new favorite. Their skirt steak is nothing short ofspectacular. Frankly I'm conflicted in what to have everytime. Craft beers to match the delicious starters. Came here for my Mother-in-laws birthday party with a group of 11. Food was decent. The burgers were done well. The skirt steak was tasty as was the fish. Service was lacking though. We felt like the forgotten table in the extra room. I never knew who our waiter was and the wait between courses were just too long to explain away. A solid three stars. read more
