Honestly, this place had the most unique appetizers. But they were so delicious and exactly the type of flavor you'd be looking for on a night out. Their beer deals were fabulous as well. My favorite thing I had was their chocolate peanut butter apple crisp. It was the best twist ever on a traditional desert and had me craving more. The peanut butter crispy parts were the best. So not only were my meal experiences fantastic, but the staff had me feeling warm and fuzzy inside! As corny as that sounds, their friendliness made me feel at home and so welcome! We had really good service from our waitress she even solved our wobbly table problem she was very attentive . Wings were crispy and good but we ordered buffalo but they weren't spicy at all. My wife ordered fish tacos on the small side for an entree but she liked them enough. I had prime rib dip sandwich cooked right and tender maybe more salt and pepper needed but fine the cup of fries was disappointing. I mean a small cup of fries and they are like the bottom pieces of the ones in the fryer. You get more fries at a fast food place then what I got .My son liked his Chicago salad and he liked the complimentary chips and dip each table gets. We like Jackson's. We have probably eaten there half-a-dozen times. The food has been consistently fresh and delicious. Their salmon on a plank is cooked to perfection, tender and oh so tasty. Salads are crisp with a large assortment of dressings. Wait staff have been knowledgable and attentive. Every dining experience has been positive. Prices are a little high, but well worth knowing that your meal will be a good one. I highly recommend a visit to Jackson's. read more

Had a really good lunch there. Service could have been better though. Place was kinda busy in the restaurant part and not that busy at the bar. It seamed that the bar personal were doing something else besides tending bar? Not sure but they weren't around much so ordering anything extra would have meant a longer stay. Hate to do it, but I have to. Food here is horrible, beer was flat, and the restaurant didn't seem to be clean. Notably, they even messed up a kids menu grill cheese. Came here for the first and last time last night around 6:00. Menu online looked good and saw they had happy hour on sundays with 6$ Tito vodka drinks which I thought was a plus . We sat at the bar for about 5 minutes without being offered a drink , bartender had no knowledge of any of the beers on draft . And when we had asked what it was like he responded "I've never had it " . Me being in the restaurant business would have replied " would u like to taste it ? " my boyfriend just randomly ordered the beer anyway( which was not good ) and I ordered my 6$ titos drink. We order appetizers and then he decides to show us the happy hour "food menu " . Appetizers we're okay . The hot wings were more sweeter than hot . The spicy lobster egg rolls were actually good . We then decide to look at the menu for dinner and asked the bartender "how is the steak sandwich ? " and he replies " I've never honestly had it " it's good steak ". Okay , so we decided to just find out ourselves ... the steak tasted like cardboard . The "steak fries " were potato wedges with oil and cheese on them . The bread was the best part . Besides the bartender not knowing anything about the menus or even pretending to know about it, the food was not good . We pretty much paid 19$ for some good garlic bread . I have come here often but I prefer the Happy Hour offerings. I am not adverse to paying for a great meal but I think the pricing is a little high for the restaurant offerings. In comparison, the Happy Hour specials are great- more than half the usual pricing. And they make great burgers and salads- and specially-priced drinks that can't be beat. Still for my husband and I, even at Happy Hours, can run up at $90 bill at the bar. But worth it- we enjoy the food, great drinks and a fun atmosphere at the bar. This is a nice local place with great atmosphere, and good food. The service was also very good. The one problem there prices are out of control, there trying to get rich on every check. Many restaurants label themselves to be 'family restaurants' but in 2014, Jackson's takes this into a whole other realm. The dining room is covered in framed pictures of the most regular customers as sort of an homage to those who help keep the place beating, and the staff really does treat you like family when you're in there. The food is moderately priced, and is good everytime. Happy hour specials on certain standout appetizers like pulled-pork nachos and hot wings (with a lot more meat on them then most places you go to) along with some of Long Island's best craft beer selections served by a waitstaff that knows exactly how to pitch it. Been to Jackson's several times, and was always disappointed. My wife refuses to go because the food is a disappointment. My son and I decided to give it one more try. I was looking for just a burger and beer. My son didn't want to go, he said " everytime we go there the burgers are cooked well done an the fries are horrible." He was right, we order MEDIUM-RARE, they were so well done, my son's fell apart like charcoal crumbles. I don't complain, but will never return. This is a coven tent neighborhood place where one can enjoy a drink and burger. I've tried their food before and it was mediocre at best. My husband and I find it convenient as we live in the area so we come for the happy hours. The mussels I scampi sauce is great. Burgers with fries are good. Although I get the happy hour special TIto vodka with cranberry juice my husband always orders the full-priced jack Daniels and ginger ale. So why the slow bartender service. In my opinion they lose so much revenue because the bartender is not attentive enough. My husband is always frustrated. We always feel ignored. We almost always just leave in frustration. read more

Love this restaurant, love the food, love the vibe, love, love, love. Some of my personal favs are the iceberg wedge salad, the Thai lettuce wraps, cedar plank salmon (omegas you know), and the coolest - burnt Brussel sprouts. Well I saw the restaurant online last week and the menu looked very interesting so I made a reservation for tonight. I was really looking forward to the evening. When we arrived at the restaurant the lobby was packed. We soon realized that the owners choose a Saturday night to allow the girl scouts/brownies to have their cookie sale in the lobby. There were small children everywhere making an already crowded lobby and bar area a big mess. Once we sat down, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was very attentive. The food was ok. I had the Thai lettuce wraps and my husband had the steak tacos. Both were very good. For dinner my husband requested a medium rare steak that was medium well, I asked for well done fries that were soggy. Not a bad restaurant for a family, but if my kids were young it would be too pricey. Definitely not the atmosphere for a nice Saturday night dinner. It is doubtful that we will return. read more

I love Jackson's! The food is creative but familiar. I love anything in the pulled pork/brisket family (southern or Midwest style), so they hit the spot with that. Ate there yesterday which was a Sunday, early afternoon. My wife and I were there in time for brunch but the brunch menu was limited & didn't appeal to us. My wife had one of the specials which included lobster, shrimp over a garlic risotto. She loved it and it was a generous portion. I went with the marinated skirt steak which was highly recommended by our server. She said it was the best around. I had it with fries. Fries were ok. Skirt steak did not disappoint. Ok so here is the scoop. This place is good for one thing and thats catering. They have a nice room. The food totally sucks and has zero flavor. If you sit in the restaurant which i find myself in because of work meetings and a client likes the convenience of this location it is loud, loud as hell. Omg is it loud. Holy crap and i usually like a loud live crowd but something about this crowd turns me off. The clientele maybe. I don't like eating here. Food totally is always bland, and i never ever like my dish. Never. Now i never pay either so its all good on that front lmao. But if you need a place to throw a party and don't care how the food tastes it will accommodate you perfectly. They try to be too New York City but the chefs arent New York City Quality. The owner is a chef which is usually a red flag. Unless you are Wolfgang Puck or Tom Colicchio. You can find better in the area. I am updating my review as of 7-7-17 another thing i must add to this review is that they do not offer any standard beer such as Corona, Heineken, Amstel etc. Its too much with these dark ale type beers. Disappointed with last visit. Consistent decrease in quality over past couple of years. Changes in menu(using lesser quality fish/meats), service and overall experience. Just recently attended a Beer/food pairing for St Patrick's Day. Not only were there no decorations & no fun music but the wait service was awful!! I had planned a family luncheon for my husband's 50th birthday. I arranged it a month prior with the manager. The day before the event I went in to discuss the beginning of the luncheon as I would be arriving with my husband after the other guests. To my surprise, the restaurant claims to have received a call from me cancelling the event 2 days prior. (With a snowstorm the day before) they had already rebooked the room. The manager became defensive and stated 'What is the big deal, just push your party back a few hours!' With less than 24 hours I had to find a local restaurant to accommodate 30 people. Please consider this unprofessional behavior the next time you consider booking here. And realize if your party isn't large enough, it will be 'cancelled' to accommodate a larger event! read more

Ordered a burger and sweet potato fries and the fries were burnt, yet soggy, and the burger, while ordered medium, appeared like it came out of a package without being cooked at all. We came here regularly every week on the same day for 3 months straight and were disappointed with the buy backs from bartenders. The service was extremely hospitable and they knew what they were selling. No problems answering questions about menu items or the awesome cocktails they offer. I also attended a Xmas party who had the food catered by them. Again it was awesome!!! I would definitely go back and want to check out there other place Morrison's in Plainview. nothing to write home about. generic boring bland food. for those that like that, and there are many, the portions are small for the prices.

This was a VERY mixed outing. Some hits, some misses. As far as food, two of us ordered burgers medium. One was cooked perfectly, if not a little on the rare side, the other was terribly overdone. The jambalaya was a success. The pesto sauce on the zucchini linguini was quite watery and lacked enough pesto flavor. It was FAR too dark in the restaurant, with many patrons needing to use their phone flashlights to read the menu. And there are no cocktail prices on the menu, so if you care, you'll need to inquire with your server about whatever you're thinking about drinking. Generally, our service was good, but the food was far too inconsistent to recommend. Also, the menu online is out of date, so don't even bother checking it for pricing and selections before you go.
