My wife and I came here for a specific purpose of buying a gift card and based on the fabulous reviews of Healy's from our friends, we thought we would stick around for some dinner. It was easy to get here and we found no issue at all with the parking. There is enough space on the streets and parking lots. We were luck where we parked as there was a street fair that day and we would have been trapped if we parked in the wrong area. We walked into the bar (Healy's is a bar) and sat in the area behind. Very simple and rustic. Everyone here is local and knows everyone so it's like entering a party. The place to go where everybody knows your name. (Where have I heard that before.) It took our server no time at all to come over and take a drink order. The staff here is incredibly friendly and make you feel incredibly comfortable. We went pretty standard with a burger and grilled chicken. Everything was perfect. My wife loved the grilled chicken sandwich and I though the burger had great taste and was cooked perfectly as I had asked for. I really enjoyed the fries too. I'm amazed how challenging it is t find places who make the fries that golden crispy brown I totally recommend Healy's. BTW, I am amazed at the one star reviews. Are the kidding. They all have no profile pictures and two reviews, both bad. PLEASE ignore them!!! Kudos to the team and food at Healy's! read more

Cocktails are creative and beers are local seasonal products, sports tv and lotto...ambience you expect from a local pub. After reading a deplorable review about menu prices I felt compelled to defend this family owned restaurant. The price of butter in 2021 was $1.34 and currently is $3.69 in 2024. As a consumer, I expect all businesses to increase pricing with inflation. Menu prices are listed when ordering and reflect the same on the website. If you can't afford the restaurants prices, don't leave a negative review that impacts the livelihood of the employees and owner. McDonald's Chicken McNuggets at are $8. The local deli egg sandwich is almost $10. This woman Pamela needs to wake up, disgusting she has the nerve to ask for a refund for a meal she clearly ate. Very disappointed. Been going here for years and recently 2 days before Thanksgiving. Lunch 2 days ago on November 27, 2024 with my sister. Here is what we had: a turkey burger a Southwestern salad with chicken added, an onion soup, a tea and a lemonade. Total bill: $71. Why: The $13 salad that I remember is now $18. The added chicken which was an extra $10 is now $15.00 The turkey burger which was $13 is now $17 The onion soup which was $6 is now $10. A lemonade is now $6 and A cup of tea is $4 Plus tax and tip. $76 in all. Because of the bill I didn't even want to leave a tip, but I did, however not the usual 15% or I would have left. I CANNOT AFFORD $76 FOR lunch for 2 people from my local pub. We'll be eating soup sandwiches and salads at home from hereon in. And tuna or PB&J and homemade soups. Additionally the menu on the internet in certain places shows prices on the old menu. I am really disappointed and looking for a $25 refund from the manager who has my phone number. The Consumer Price Index is down for September and October 1.2% on meat, fish and poultry. I would urge restaurant owners to take this into consideration for their pricing because people like me are going to be staying home. This is RIDICULOUS. read more

Visited Healy's a couple times and each time met with a rude staff. No body to help us get seated, just told to go sit over there. The waitress was nasty with a bad attitude, the food was oily and too much sauce, not healthy food to order. When we complained about the bad food, the waitress argued. Only great things to be said for this gem of a pub where everybody knows your name! I came in the day after July 4th to be surprised with the amount of customers eating & drinking and enjoying life. My first visit here to eat and as I listened to all the people eating around me, the conversations were all about how delish their meals were. I'm not a salad eater however after 4 days of BBQ I felt the need for green. Ordered the Greek salad and added blackened chicken to it. What can I say, it was like your first kiss on a first date. Crispy, fresh garden veggies, homemade dressing that made my tongue throw a party for my mouth blackened chicken sliced perfectly into thin strips that was cooked to perfection, yes juicy (not dry) like most chicken you get blackened. The best part was the flavor from the ingredients in the blackening rub. I asked about it and was told it's made in house. The taste was just like being on Bourbon Street in the big easy. I am now officially a salad craver! The brews on tap poured icy cold in frozen pints. The ingredient that made this visit complete was the bartender who served me at the bar. She could read your mind and anticipated everything I was going to ask for. Service with a smile, genuine hospitality, she works Monday, Wednesday & Friday (forgot her name). I can't wait to go back. Solid bar/restaurant in Greenlawn, Long Island. You have your standard Tavern fair, along with some nice daily specials. Can't go wrong with the burgers, wings, skirt steak, etc. A few outstanding items are their turkey burger and their fries (if you like them crispy). While the inside has not been renovated in a while, their kitchen has! They brought in a new chef who has fantastic new creations and absolutely improved this place! Every once in awhile when I'm in the neighborhood I love going to Healy's, food is always great however our waitress last night not so .....From the minute we walked in she seemed harried when we asked for a quiet table. I asked her if there were any cocktails she would recommend she informed me that the she "only drinks wine". After I placed my drink order I noticed on the bottom of the specials menu a selection of suggested drinks, would've been nice if she had pointed it out earlier. To be honest, the food is pretty middle-of-the-road. The burger I had was ok, the wings were adequate, but not great, and the kids' meals were all ok. However, the staff is super nice, accommodating, and genuinely polite. We stopped in on a rainy day, wanted a burger, a beer, and something for the kids and we got exactly that with no frills. Was there right before pandemic. The food you can tell was all frozen . Burger was overcooked . (Twice) drinks were weak bartender was not pleasant. It was pouring rain outside and some older man with a cane walked in soaking wet to get some dinner and the bartender said they were no longer serving (it was 9pm) and sign said serving till 10 . She would not serve him I was so disgusted I almost got up to help the man as he walked out into the rain but my husband said let it go. And when he left the woman started laughing about it!!!! Healy's is a great little locals style watering hole located in Greenlawn, it has some pretty decent food as well, it's a nice place if you want to get away from he standard crowd at a restauraunt and want something more along the lines of good bar food, with some decent steaks thrown in as well. Came here with a groupon. We spent a little bit more because we ordered an extra round of beers. Then the waitress charged us tax on the FULL amount of the original check. I use groupons for restaurants all the time. Tax should only be calculated AFTER the discount is applied. Also, we read on their website that there were happy hour specials going on. When we got there we requested a booth. Happy hour special was not honored because "we had to sit at the bar". Very shady business practices going on here. Would not come back. I am a repeat customer. Love the home town feeling in this place. First a must is to try the Irish nachos. Very different but they are a special only. So hit or miss. We did ask the waitress of he could make them once when they were not offered on the special and the chef was able to prepare it for us. Second as a dipping sauce to anything you get you must try the pesto ranch sauce mmmm so yummy I dip everything in it. I have always had great service but I go so often I know to usually seat myself and the waitress will come with the menus soon after. Love this place. I came in here on a whim and I was very pleasantly surprised. This is a no nonsense traditional American pub, with exceptional food. No frills, just really good. The wings were crispy and cooked perfectly with a traditional (and very, very good) buffalo sauce (but they have all different kinds of sauces). The baked clams were cooked to perfection, seasoned properly and had a healthy amount of clam. Now about that burger. I had the Wagyu Burger with cheddar, fried egg and applewood smoked bacon and coleslaw cooked medium rare. That thing did not stand a chance. Gone in 5 minutes, never to be seen again. Had another good experience at Healys the other night. Gastro Pub Burger from the specials menu was excellent and perfectly cooked. The fries were crispy and delicious, also perfectly cooked. These simple things are super frustrating when screwed up. Healys pulls off simple pub food very well. As a neighborhood place, with decent food and reasonable prices, few can compare. Past winners have been General Tsos Pork SHanks, Southwest Salad w Buffalo Chicken (add onion strings and ranch for a full blown feast!) and any Burger. Me and my wife went here for there burgers which we heard good things about. We walked in the door and stood in the opening of the restaurant for about 6 minutes the bar tender looked at us a couple of times with no acknowledgement. Finally the waitress walked over and said sit wherever you'd like. We sat down for about another 8 minutes before we ever got MENUS! Or drinks. Took another 15 minutes to take our order. Once we got our food my wife's burger was wrong and over done, they basically dropped the food and ran away no asking if we need more drinks anything else. The waitress walked by once as she was walking asked if we wanted more drinks we said yes and she was gone, she brought drinks and again just a drop and run. Now i can understand this behavior from a packed out restaurant that was very busy. There were literally 3 other tables seated, none of them seemed to be getting any better service then we were receiving. Now as 2 young professionals we go out to eat often and i consider myself a very generous tipper, and a definite repeat customer but not for this poor and lack of service and that what these places dont get, your not just selling food your selling a experience I work about 5 mins from this place and will make sure i tell everyone to stay far away. read more
