We came here for our anniversary and our server was so sweet and nice he told us it was the table directly next to us anniversary too! We met them and had a great night discussing how we all met. I did not have a long times to visit to Piitsbourgh's downtown area, so I decided eat in hotel's restaurant. This place is located inside of Doubletree hotel near Pittsbourgh airport where most of hotel are located. Their power lunch is really cheap and pretty okay to me. 1/2 sandwich, soup or salad, drink all togeather was only $6.50. What deal of the meal for the lunch. I ordered 1/2 chicken panini and potato soup, and both of them was tasty not bad at all for price of $6.50. If you stay near any hotel or motel near Pittsbourgh airport, stop by for cheap and nice lunch at Jacksons. read more

I suspect that the majority of the guests who eat at this restaurants are guests from the Hilton Hotel, in which this very establishment is located. At least that's why I ate there, and while I don't necessarily regret choosing this seemingly fancy diner that evening, I don't plan on coming back in the near or distant future. The food was fine, and I do feel bad that I squished the tiny bug which ran across my salad plate. The waiter was nice (unlike another reviewer here I did not have the luck of being served by an attractive waitress) although not terribly speedy when it came to clearing the table or bringing the bill. As a Houston native, this place is not bad for rural Pittsburgh. Place has great ambiance, great service, and good food. I had the salmon which was light and extremely tasty. Came for the Prime Rib special on Saturday night. Was not disappointed. Service was great. No wait for a table. We split the Wedge salad between us two, and it was enough. Prime rib Queen size tasted very good, and was plenty filling. The caramel flan was delicious as well. $$ read more

This restaurant is a cut above and certainly the best in the area, lively crowd in the bar and quiet dining room when you want to read. I recommend it highly. I travel frequently for work and always look for a high quality restaurant that can meet my dietary needs. Many restaurants don't try, but it's very important to me. So I was very pleased to find that Jackson's in Southpointe not only serves great food, but is eager to meet customer needs. I typically need to ask for the chef to cook my food separately with several changes. At Jackson's the chef not only accommodates my changes but makes the dish more special than I ask for by creating an equally tasty dish I can eat. It is rare when you find a "real chef" who can create a wonderful meal from scratch based on your needs. The waitstaff are equally helpful and efficient, and surprisingly remembered my dietary needs on the second visit. Needless to say I frequent Jackson's when I'm in town. read more

We have been to Jackson's twice now and have been lucky enough to have Martin as our server both times. The first time we went, we just dropped in because the place we wanted to go didn't have availability. We consider ourselves lucky to have found it. We went tonight for our anniversary and were just as pleased. Both times we got the tasting menu. The crab cake there is so very delicious. No filler. Just delicious crab meat. The chopped salad was really good and I really enjoyed the white French dressing they use on it. I have gotten the Filet and today I got the scallops and while both were delicious I preferred the filet. The tasting menu gives you a choice of any appetizer, most entrees, salad or soup, and dessert for $55. To us that's an amazing price for the amount of food you are getting. We will definitely be going to Jackson's more often and requesting Martin. He just makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I like that you don't feel like they are rushing you out. Oh and Martin brought us two glasses of celebratory champagne! read more

I met my grandparents here for dinner tonight and we were extremely pleased with everything from the service Zack gave us to the tasty courses we chose. Zack was a brilliant waiter who was knowledgeable of the menu and very personable. I had the Wood Fire Grilled Scottish Salmon. It was the perfect amount of food. My grandmother had the Berkshire Pork Chops. Her serving was huge as she was only able to eat one of the pork chops. Luckily for my grandfather, that means he has lunch to take to work tomorrow. He ordered the Angel Hair Pasta and added 4 pieces of shrimp. He claimed his meal was delicious as well as he cleaned his plate. I would definitely recommend this Jackson's location and I would also highly recommend asking for Zack to be your waiter. read more

The waitress was awesome, but unfortunately the food was so poorly prepared that she removed 3 out of the 7 dinners from our bill. Swordfish was not cooked, could not be cut with even a knife. Noodles with the scallops were so overcooked they couldn't be eaten. They were understaffed in the kitchen for a very full restaurant, and we expected to wait... Which we did for nearly 2 hours, and yet the food was still not what's expected from a slightly upscale restaurant. It's our family's last visit there. read more

AMAZING food and very cool atmosphere! Their newly renovated bar and lounge give you a cool city club feel without the long drive into Pittsburgh. This is exactly what me and my friends have been looking for locally. They also have a awesome outdoor patio with live music every Friday during the summer that we absolutely LOVE!! We worked with Benedetto Biondo to reserve the room, select the menu, and work out any other necessary details. He was fabulous to work with. The menu options were very classy, yet accessible - the perfect thing we needed to bring together our two very different families. Like probably most of the patrons in here on a Monday night, I was staying at the Hilton next door. I got to the hotel at 8pm after flying all day and then driving from the airport so I didn't really feel like venturing out into an unfamiliar area for dinner. I sat at the bar, which had a couple TV's on. I was quickly greeted by a rather attractive bartender who welcomed me and took my drink order. When she returned with my glass of house Pinot Noir, she asked if I needed a dinner menu. A minute or two later she brought me a dinner menu and told me about the specials. The Pinot wasn't the best glass of wine, but decent enough. A few minutes later after I closed my menu, another bartender (a far less attractive male) stopped by to see if I wanted to order or just hang out for a while. I really appreciate service that's attentive like this without being pushy. I was hungry so I ordered, but he probably would have been cool if I'd sat there all night sipping my wine. And I suppose I can't fault the guy for not being the attractive young lady who'd originally been serving me ;) I started with the Shrimp & Chorizo Chowder which was excellent. I'd put it on the "must have" list for anybody dining here. I had one of the specials, the blackened monk fish, as my entree. It was also quite good, but perhaps slightly underdone in the center. I'm talking just barely though and it was a thick piece of fish. The roasted garbanzo beans and potato puree were excellent as well and complimented the seasoning on the fish quite well. They also brought me a basket of bread which was probably overkill but both varieties I tried where a nice compliment to the chowder. I had a second glass of wine, this time a Cab. The bartender commented that the Pinot wasn't his favorite either as he brought me the second glass. All in all, for what I was wanting that evening it was just about perfect; just on the edge of getting 5 starts from me in fact, which I never do. I don't know when I'll be back in the area and I'm usually not one to stay in the hotel for dinner, but Jackson's just might tempt me to do so next time. My mother and I came to Jackson's for dinner on June 9th, 2021. We were seated outside and placed an order for a glass of wine and a cocktail. After waiting nearly 25 minutes for our drinks, the waitress brought them out and delivered them to the table behind us. During that time, I kept an eye on the customers who received them and noticed that they had taken a drink out of them before sending them back to the bar. The waitress took them from their table and then came to us to apologize for delivering our drinks to them in error. She told us she would get us new drinks from the bar. My mom had a suspicion that they were going to bring the same drinks back to us, especially due to the long wait for them initially. She followed the waitress inside and sat down at the bar to observe. Sure enough, she witnessed the bartender pull out a new glass and start pouring the wine into a new glass. Keep in mind, the customers who initially received these had already drank from them. Upon seeing this, my mother came to inform me that we were leaving. When we came inside to exit, the manager asked her rather rudely what the problem was. In utter disbelief, my mom explained what happened and we stormed out. I highly recommend that NO ONE go to Jackson's since they have no regard for someone's health during a pandemic by doing these unsanitary things. read more

The food was decent, but not for the price. Had the bill been cut in half I would have few complaints. The calamari was chewy and there were some wilted pieces of lettuce in the salad. The salmon came out bland though moist. I am not generally picky but when we spend $200 on dinner for 2 this is just not what I expect. read more

Good food and a nice place for a sit down lunch.

The food was very good. Don't go here if you have anywhere to be in a few hours, however. The service lacks in regards to the waitress decided she wanted to bring the bread and tapanade (along with the cheesy bread) after the appetizers/soup/salad, as that was her plan. Said she had "a method to the madness." I wanted my bread like other restaurants, when I first get there. She was good with refilling the water frequently. The shrimp and lobster mac n cheese was great, as was the shrimp/lobster bisque. Salads were tasty. Then it stopped. 1.5 hours and still no entree. People came and seated beside us had all their food and finished, doggy bag ready to go, and we were still waiting for our entrees. We asked waitress for check and to stop everything. Manager did come by and was very kind, offered to give us the food to take with us if ready, did not have us pay for anything, and apologized for us having a bad experience. We did see that the chefs in the back were busy the whole night, but perhaps they need more staff on certain occasions. Would like to go back but just am concerned my evening would be spent waiting...and waiting. read more

Ok we will sit inside - but after 15 minutes of zero service - we left and on the way out counted 14 open tables under the awning. I had a wonderful time. Ate here twice while staying at the hotel nearby. Not like a lot of places near hotels. If Hilton could figure out that this model keeps people in the hotel, rather than leaving, paying for a ride, to find good food, they would keep travelers there and capture that revenue. The service was excellent. Not real big but accommodating. The menu was small but diverse. I would normally order fish and then move to lamb or steak. I ordered the burger on a whim. It was fabulous. Cooked perfect medium rare. I do not like French fries but they suggested the Brussels sprouts. Great choice. With a light balsamic reduction it was so awesome. My burger almost got cold The burger both nights was absolutely perfect. The brioche bun was the same. Very reasonably priced and worth every penny. 12 bucks Wow.
