We're in the area to visit friends, and was introduced to Juniper Grill as a recommendation. That was an excellent recommendation as we thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. Their menu offers a good selection for both Lunch and Dinner. Deciding what to order is a challenge as we wanted to try more than one dish! The inside seating areas is elegantly decorated, and offers plenty of seating. The staff was very cheerful, and made sure all of our needs were met. My husband and I typically avoid chain restaurants but this one was enjoyable. They are known for their tortilla soup - which was tasty and cheesy and not overly spicy. We split the quesadilla appetizer which had delicious carmelized onions and melt in your mouth brisket. I enjoyed the crabcake salad as my entree.. only complaint is that the crabcake was pretty small in size. We were seated in the back room which was fine but the actual restaurant seemed more cozy. I made reservations and requested a booth. We were seated promptly in a booth - and that is the only thing that deserves a positive rating. Waiter/Service: The service during our visit was disappointing. The server didn't maintain a professional demeanor and seemed more focused on joking around than providing attentive service. The order was taken incorrectly and waiter didn't have a sense of urgency to correct it. There was also poor attention to our drinks (just water!) and refilling. We also noticed guests at the table next to us becoming visibly frustrated as they waited for their food, which was eventually all brought out at once, then was immediately boxed/bagged and the guests immediately left. Overall the lack of professionalism and attentiveness made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Food: (1) Romaine Salad with Salmon: Requested the dressing on the side due to a food sensitivity. Salad came with dressing, and the server admitted he forgot to note it. It took an uncomfortably long time to receive a replacement salad, even considering that it's served warm. When it finally arrived, the presentation was extremely disappointing ... the lettuce and salmon looked like they had simply been tossed onto a new plate with no care. This was meant to be the birthday‑girl's dinner, which made it even more frustrating. (2) Grilled Mahi Tacos: This dish used to be one of my favorites, but the quality has noticeably declined. The pineapple salsa was missing entirely and was loaded with a tomato salsa instead. The first taco tasted overly fishy ... I understand it wasn't caught yesterday, but it was clearly not fresh. The second taco wasn't as strong in flavor, but the fish was tough instead of light and flaky. The newer sweet corn side was not enjoyable and was cold when served (not sure if it's supposed to be cold), but it ended up being most of my meal since the tacos were inedible. After seeing how poorly the salad mistake was handled, I didn't feel motivated to bring up the issues with the tacos and corn. This also wasn't my first disappointing visit as I had a similar experience in November, but this most recent one was bad enough that I felt compelled to share this review. Will not go back. Do not recommend. Poor service. Poor food quality. read more

The food here was amazing! We booked a reservations and it was so easy to come in and get seated. The staff were friendly and had great recommendations. The place was well lit and spacious. We ordered cornbread to share at the table and it was super delicious with the sugar coating on top. I got the crab and shrimp enchiladas with fries and it was delicious. It is an up charge to substitute any sides that does not come with the dish. The table got the chicken dish with mash potatoes and shrimp tacos with rice/beans. My parents and I tried the Juniper Grill for the first time. The atmosphere was great and we were seated almost immediately. Where we were seated we could see them cooking in the kitchen which was pretty cool. I got their vegetable enchiladas. Filled with Zucchini, Grilled Corn, Asparagus, Roasted Pepper, Fire Roasted Tomato Sauce and Monterey Jack. Topped with Guacamole, Pico de Gallo & Chipotle Crema. It came with a side of drunken black beans and brown rice. I licked my plate clean!!!!! So good and loved every single on of the vegetables they chose. Pretty disappointed in myself I did not try them sooner and will definitely be going back soon to try something else. We started our meal with a brisket quesadilla. 10/10 There was some issue with entree availability after we ordered and we didn't find this out for a very long while, but the manager was proactive in dealing with the issue satisfactorily. When our third choice for an entree finally arrived, it was quite good. The short ribs almost melted in the mouth. The asparagus was also very tasty--they said cooked over wood. Having eaten at Juniper Grill previously, I was looking forward to a quality meal. Unfortunately, if you're seated in the booth closest to the door, you should get up and leave. We waited at least 20 minutes before our waitress came to our table and took our order. The drinks came relatively soon after placing our order, but it was at least 40 minutes before our salads were brought to our table by someone other than our waitress and I had to ask the person at the front desk to provide us with silverware and napkins. It was at least another 25 minutes before someone other than our waitress brought our cold dinners. At this point all we wanted was our check so we could go elsewhere for dinner. So all and all, $90 for an inedible dinner was a total disappointment. read more

I have been here a few times over the years and always had a decent experience. I came here for dinner tonight with my family after making a reservation for 3 people for 5:45. The restaurant was busy but not crazy for a Saturday night. We ordered 2 bar drinks and 2 appetizers and thankfully ordered our daughter's kids meal at the same time or else she wouldn't have eaten. The drinks took longer than expected but were good but the appetizers were not that great and the service was extremely slow, not because he was appeared overly busy but he was just very inattentive to our table, which was directly next to the server station. Our waiter took our order around 6:15, a burger and fries and ribs and smoked sausage. The waiter came by one time to get me another drink and then we didn't see him again until we flagged him down at 6:50 asking about our dinner. No drink refills, no checking in to let us know the food was coming, nothing, despite the server and at least 2 managers passing our table repeatedly. Something definitely happened because after we flagged him down, our server grabbed a receipt/check from the server station behind us and ran to the kitchen and it took him another 10 minutes to tell us our food was coming right up. At this point, we were clearly upset and asked that our food be boxed to go because it had been over an hour. It took another 10-15 minutes to get our food to go and our bill and it was clear they were making our dinner on the fly. While our inexpensive appetizers were comped, none of the managers bothered to come over to our table and frankly, comped appetizers weren't enough considering we still spent $90 and didn't even eat our dinner in the building. There's plenty of better places in the area with much better food and service for the same price and we won't be back again. read more

Juniper Grill is a great spot for lunch / dinner. The restaurant has a nice layout with standard interior and 'patio' seating. There's a also a nice bar top area with TVs so could be a great spot to watch a game. The menu had a good mix of options as well as some unique seasonal specials. We went with two from the main salad options which were excellent. Both the Rotisserie Chicken and Avocado Salad and the Rare Seared Ahi Tuna Salad are big enough to satisfy most but a sharable or soup could help if you're really hungry. The service was friendly, fast, and professional which is always a plus! I look forward to future visits and trying some of the other menus items as well as some of their cocktails. One of us ordered salmon, one chicken, one brisket and two of us ordered the shrimp and crab enchiladas. Jim was our server. He was right on with our orders. The restaurant is divided into 3 main areas. One dining area then a bar area then another larger dining area. In my opinion the shrimp and crab enchiladas were the best selection.
