I found Jaco through recommendations on Nextdoor and checked them on Yelp. This local, family owned business is awesome. I called Eric who fit me in quickly so I could get a chandelier installed before a gals' party. He came with his brother Chris, they did the work quickly, and the price was a bit less than estimated. The medallion I bought to go with the lamp had some small cracks us to the way it was shipped. Eric put some filler over them so my husband can sand a little and paint over them, rather than send it back and delay the completion of the project. I literally did a dance when I saw the chandelier! Their questions and observations reminded me of some other issues that needed to be addressed. They will be coming back in two weeks to fix those. I'm so glad I came on yelp to find an electrician! I rarely write reviews but I'm so pleased with Eric's service that I had to! Eric was the first person I called for an electrical issue which left us without power in our restrooms and stopped the garage door from working. Although Eric said he was booked for the day, due to the urgency of the work I needed he ended up moving around some of his appointments so that he could come take a look. That's just really going above and beyond in my opinion! We set a time and I asked him to let me know when he would be leaving the job he was currently at. He remembered to do this and even ended up arriving a bit earlier which was nice. Once he arrived I let him know what the issue was and he got right to work. After some troubleshooting he figured out what the issue might be explained everything clearly as he was doing it. He even taught me a bit about electrical theory and showed me how to do some simple work to make sure any outlets I work on in the future are up to code! He was able to complete the job in two hours and even installed a used but working breaker without charging me for the part since he had just pulled it from another breaker. All in all it was a pleasure working with Eric. Amazing service, we had a stove break down and needed a new one. Ordered a replacement at Lowes but learned there are "3 wire" connections and "4 wire" connections, we purchased the 3 wire and went home to check the old stove. Apparently, this stove is "hardwired", something we haven't seen before. After doing some research and figuring out that the installers won't connect this type of connection we went to Yelp to find an electrician. It was then we came across JaCo Electric. Being a Sunday and Mothers Day at that, I didn't expect to actually get a quote until Monday but we did within minutes. We were able to get a ballpark figure of what it would cost after sending pictures of everything involved and planned for the next day to do the work when the stove is delivered. Well as things go the stove didn't arrive until 8 PM, an hour and a half past the delivery window. The next morning I let Eric know that any time works for us and he was able to send someone in 20 minutes. We got the stove hardwired in without issue, quick and efficient. Then Eric himself stopped by and we had a great conversation and some recommendations for the existing electrical. After 2 handymen failed to solve my flickering light problem and power outages in my kitchen, I turned to Yelp to find an electrician. Two of the electricians I contacted never returned my messages. A third said he was too busy to help me. Then I called Jaco, and Eric answered his phone himself! I explained my issue and we set up an appointment. After Eric arrived among the first things he did were to correct what the handymen had done. He advised I replace all the breakers in the panel due to their age and condition. He didn't have the parts with him so we set up another appointment. This time Chris came with him and they had the work done ahead of the estimated time. I asked Eric to replace the overhead fixtures in my kitchen which had to be ordered so he and Chris returned for a third appointment. While Eric worked on the fixtures, Chris installed a GFI outlet in the kitchen. During this process Chris discovered that the main electrical lead coming into my kitchen was falling apart, so he repaired it. Eric said this was probably the source of power outages in the kitchen. I couldn't be more pleased with all the results. At last my electrical functions are working properly and I have peace of mind knowing the breakers are new. My house was constructed in 1985 and the internal cables were too old to handle the newer digital signal needed for high definition TV, such as Cox Contour and High-Speed Internet. I hired JaCo to basically reinstall all new RG-6 cables throughout the house and add new coax and ethernet cable outlets in various rooms. Eric and his brother came and completed the project over two days, and it could've been done in one day if not for a last minute change in the cable routing that I requested. I got two quotes for my project and Eric's prices were very competitive and fair. I added new outlets to 4 room and was very happy with the results. I now have Contour and saw a noticeable improvement in my TV picture quality and resolution. Eric was very good about keeping the number of holes he had to cut in the walls to a minimum and made sure the construction areas were cleaned up afterwards. Just note he does not do drywall repair so you will need to hire a separate contractor to fix the holes he cuts. I would recommend Eric to anyone looking to replace the cable wiring in their homes. Just make sure you schedule him with some advanced notice. He had a pretty packed project schedule and we had to reschedule a couple of times to find a date that worked. Also as a suggestion, when you talk to him make sure you do the following: - identify the room where you would like to put your media hub -- cable modem, wireless router. - identify the rooms where you need new wiring - in each room, what devices (TV, computer) need a cable outlet Overall, Eric was very pleasant and reasonable to work with and he tries to accommodate all your requests within reason. read more

Eric Lectured me for over 40 minutes as he stalled to complained about how long it would take to Install a Motion Sensor Light & Camera before starting the Job as he was charging $75/Hr. He seemed obstinate arguing why he didn't put up the Light & Camera were I requested him to on the SW Corner & the Electric Box on the NW Corner as agreed.yet then did not nd Did NOT do as instructed & it did Not Work!... He spent several minutes calling his Girl Friend & J.W. Friends & took over a 3 Hour Shopping trip then said it was too late to finish and fix the problem demanding I pay him before he left. He also "Accidentally Cut Hole on the NW corner when he was supposed to be working on the SW Corner.. It was dark & he claimed the "The fixture was malfunctioning" vs. his faulty wires... I had an extra Fixture so we changed the fixture out & the camera seemed to work so I paid him...However when I went to turn on the exterior & interior lights at the switch & outlet he ran the wires though Both the the Exterior interior light began flashing off & on... He refused to come back and fix or check it with out charging me & he did NOT put the outlet box on the west side as I requested because he said it was more work than he expected even though he initaliy said he would. He arrived 2 hours late, then took off for several hours to go shopping holding me up all day-afternoon returning so late that he was rushed and preoccupied with other calls and reiterating or trying to talk me out of the work he bid to do, I offered to pay him by the hour and he still was hesitant, dramatic and full of me all the excuses & NOT able to remember what he was to do as he kept talking about the work vs. doing it. I wanted was cooking Dinner & tired of talking as he rehashed it over and over again...When he finally finished the work was sloppy the grommet/seal was exposed & my Dining Hutch Light started flashing off & On at the outlet he rewired & the Exterior Light also was flashing off & on. The only thing that worked was the camera that was plugged in...He overcharged was incompetent and so I went to Check out his Company to find that he was NOT licensed. He Claims to Be a Jehovah's Witness so I expected He Would Be Honest but when I checked him out & Found out that He Apparently he is a Poser who claims to be a Licensed Electrician-Journeyman, He talks & talks but could NOT Install a Functioning Motion Sensor & Damaged the existing Outlet so that it No Longer Functions correctly and left it wiried Incorrectly then Bullied me Demanding his Pay after he said He Underbid the Job then Switched to demanding an Hourly rate as he and still was Unable to complete the Job & or Correct the Problem that he created and said he could Not stay to Fix the Problem becasue he had to Go to a JW Meeting & see His Girlfriend...He said he would only come back to fix the Problem if I continued to pay for another trip charge and give him a Good Yelp Review...It was a Waste of my Time & Money as he apparently had No Clue as to what to do and just charged me to come out and argue...So the outlet and lights didn't work he apparently broke the outlet that initially worked & still charged me over $350 for 1/2 day of lecturing & arguing so I guess I ended up paying him to go away... read more

He was able to assess the situation based on some initial troubleshooting I did, went even deeper to discover it was improperly wired from the last rewiring the house had done, and he fixed it.
