I think Jacob's Aquatic Center is a great place to cool down when you're down in the Keys. There are two pools to use, one being a smaller pool and the other is a larger pool with two different sized diving boards and another section with several swimming lanes. Then, there's a splash pad area where the water comes up to an adult's calf more or less. It has several slides, water spraying everywhere, and a bucket that dumps out water at intervals. One section of the play area is designed to look like a pirate's ship. My kids, aged 10, 7, and 7 months had a blast!!! The water is low enough in some areas where my baby was able to sit and splash in the water. My big kids had a great time playing in the play area and then running to the pool to jump off of the diving board and swim some laps. If you get lucky (or go early enough), you can snag an umbrella and sit in the provided loungers. I was able to share an umbrella with another small family. It was big enough where we weren't right on top of each other, but were able to enjoy some shade. There is a snack shop that serves chips, soda, and some hot meals. There's a rule about not bringing in any outside food or coolers. There are also locker rooms with bathrooms. All in all, this place is a great time for kids and adults of all ages! read more

When we did the swimming practice they said "don't touch the floor or wall" and I only touched the wall with my huomeris because I was close to the wall and they gave m orange and my friend got a green and the didn't let her go on the high diving board and they didn't let us swim in the water cuz they got green and for the people that had orange or red were in the kiddie pool with floaties that basically choke us and the water is freezing cold the people that were doing the swimming lessons they didn't even try to help all they said was " just swim to the end" and a worker told a kid to shut up this is by far the worst place I have ever gone to read more

This is a huge super family friendly aquatic center that I've visited over the years. Although it does not have an Olympic size pool it makes up for it with three quality pools. Located just 45 minutes from Miami with hotels in the area. The complex built in 2002 offers swim competition in their 8 lane 25 meter Myrtha swimming pool. An electronic scoreboard is available. Depths are 5-7 feet. A second Myrtha pool measuring 24x44 is a multi-purpose and can be used as warm up/cool down at swim meets. The third pool is interactive for young children and includes a pirate ship and sprayers. The complex also has one 3 meter and two 1 meter diving boards. The entire facility is well maintained with a lot of staff on hand Jacobs has a concessions stand, so it's understandable no outside food or drinks are permitted. There is an entry fee and memberships are available. Local residents get a discount last time I was there which was a few years ago. Jacobs offers amenities such as: * pool lane rental for traveling club teams * USA swim team * masters swim * swim lessons * water aerobic * life guard training * summer camps * scuba classes offered by outside vendor I would absolutely recommend Jacobs to anyone finding themselves in the Key Largo area. read more

This Center is a perfect place for a family fun filled day for all ages! We really enjoyed discovering this place with our little ones. The center consists of a water pad area, kid pool & adult pool. Babies & toddlers can enjoy the water pad area. Older kids & adults can enjoy the pool & diving boards. There were a number of Life guards are on duty within all the sections. There are a good number is Lounge chairs & umbrellas are set up around the pools. So all you need to worry about packing is a Towel, Swimsuits, & Sunscreen. Only downfall is that food is not allowed in the center, however basic & inexpensive food is sold on premises from Burgers, chicken tenders to pizza. We visited on Memorial weekend and showed up at 10:00am which was good because center filled up as it got later and there are a limited amount of lounge chairs. We definitely plan to return next time we come to the keys as this was a fun & inexpensive activity to do the the kids! read more

I went with my husband and 3 kids (7, 5, 2 year olds) they have 4 dive boards to short wants and 2 tall ones. My kids loved jumping off of them. They have lifeguards on duty. Great place to go with the kids! They have an area that's good for all ages. They have small slides And water playground. My kids loved it! Tips: you can't bring outside food. They have food and at decent prices. Simple things like chips, hotdogs etc. They have restrooms and 2 showers (always wear sandals in public showers) They have re-entry which is also nice in case you want to grab lunch elsewhere and come back or if you live or are staying near by at a hotel. Terrible management! It is sad this is the only public pool to enjoy down here because it is so poorly ran. During summer you expect busy pool days, however you would expect for events they would close down the pool. NOPE! They have groups of 80 plus kids come in and still don't bother to mention to paying costumers the pool is at such capacity so they can keep on collecting $ on this particular day the pirate ship kid area was closed all day because it had been pooped in. Do you think they refunded anyone ? Nope! Instead the manager answers with " you do know there is two other pools" I would never recommend anyone to this pool just for the lack of management and pure disrespect. Great community pool in Key Largo. Especially great if you have little kids. There's an olympic pool for adults, which is nice, as well as a deep end with diving boards. Lots of scuba classes also practice here. Then, there's a kiddy pool with a ADA ramp even, and lastly a whole water-themed pirate playground for kids. It costs $10 on weekdays for a day session and $12 on weekends. You can get a monthly, 3-monthly, 6-monthly, or yearly pass for cheaper. They also have a great swim lesson teacher (Brendan) who can teach you for a good price (adult or kids). Always clean and never too crowded. No better way to beat that Florida heat and humidity. read more

Everything you want to do in a pool, you can do here. Diving boards, 2 regular and 1 high dive. 10 or so official lanes with starting boards and electric time board and everything. Wading pool with slides and water features for the little tykes. They even have a special pool with a handicap ramp and a handicap chair made out of PVC pipe. I saw them doing SCUBA diving lessons in that pool. There are lifeguards everywhere, a concession stand with snacks and hot dogs, restrooms and pool chairs. This place is perfect. read more

They told us that my 18 month old could not wear floaties in the pool because of insurance reasons yet no one was in the baby pool playground pirate ship area guarding the kids. The manager came out (I didn't ask to speak to a manager) and told me that they weren't enough kids to watch the baby pool. So I guess 1 life isn't worth it? Really strange. Then she changed her story and said the guards on the other side of the gate were watching from afar. There is a huge playground in the middle of the pool that blocks the view of little kids who may be in trouble. Here's a picture of 4-5 teens not watching the baby pool. And 2 empty guard chairs in the baby pool. The manager came out and started lecturing me. I also noticed during a busy time 4 teens in the pirate ship running around. What about that liability? Knocking toddlers over. Why are kids bigger than me allowed in the pirate ship area? For the cost of entry and the amount of hassling I got over just letting my daughter wear floaters on her arms..just trying to have a good time..this place is not worth it. read more

Went there this past weekend with my family and we had a blast. It is a smaller park, but it did not get that crowded thankfully -- after all there is only so much you can do. They had 3 diving boards (two lower ones and one really tall one), but one was not in use when I went. The lifeguards helped me practice my diving and it actually improved (lol). They also seemed very aware of everything going on which I liked and made it seem safe. I had a cheeseburger while I was there and it was delicious. The bathrooms were nice and clean and so was the pool area. Nice amount of chairs and shaded areas. Great parking. Their prices are more expensive on the weekends but not by much. Only suggestion, have the people collecting the entrance fees at the front be a little bit friendlier. We were not greeted with a friendly "hello!" and we also did not get a "have a great day!" or "see you next time!" when we left. Not that big of a deal, but for someone who has plenty of customer service experience, it would be a nice touch and make the visitors fee more welcomed. read more

Horrible place beware do not bring your kids here! First minute in the park I couldn't find my son that's because they put him in time out. A lifeguard put my kid on time out ! I don't put my kids on time out how could this stranger. When I asked what he did he said he ran. I also overheard the two lifeguards the whole time talk about how they hated the extended hours. I also overheard them make racial slurs against a Hispanic family that was there and refer to another kid as the "weird looking one with the blue shorts". I brought this all up to the manager. He said: "that lifeguard has saved countless lives, I don't care what he says". Thus, the problem at this place stems from the top. Please don't go! read more

Life guards need to chill out, they over due it with whistling for every little thing kids will be kids understand safety concerns but most times they just calling the kids attention for petty reasons. They are not kid friendly at all a bunch of teenage kids ( the life guards). A kid decided to use the bathroom in the splash area pool and they shut it down to clean it up, they initially told everyone that it would only be from an hour to two hours and they will reopen it was only 1pm so we waited 3/4 o clock and the splash area still not open, when asked when they will open they said they not opening it today it takes 8 hours to clean up. Not informative what so ever could of went to another place for the day instead of waiting for nothing! And on top of that you are not allowed to use your own floats either the kid goes in with no float or u borrow a life vest from them which they have about a total of 2 tops lol horrible place not work it. Take your time and money and go somewhere nicer. read more

Nice play to visit with kids if you can't get out to the ocean. Nice size pool, a second pool with diving boards and a small water park. My 8 year old was still able to enjoy it. No coolers allowed and no inflatables in the pool. There is food you can order on site and a few picnic tables. I will NEVER return to this horrible park. The staff was not friendly whatsoever. They are discriminatory to certain patrons and they are to rough towards the children in the pools. The pools are filled with too much chlorine and the lifeguards are so lazy, that they don't allow children to do anything fun so they do not have to get off their posts. The lamest place on earth. Kids can't use the diving board with flirtation and if the parent wants to get in the water so their kid can jump off the diving board without floatation, yea you can't do that either. I'd expect that maybe from a place that didnt charge. Total waste of money. You're better off buying your kids one of those intex pools. read more

We usually go several times during our two-week trips to Islamorada, and it never fails to keep my teens and tween thoroughly entertained since there aren't many diving boards to found these days!
