I came here on Saturday on 4/20 with a party of 10 ladies for my cousins last night out as a Miss. We had planned this about a month in advance and called to make the reservation early to make sure we could get a table here for that night. I have been here atleast 5 or 6 times for different events, all on Saturdays. It was always a great time, so i recommended coming here for her last few nights out. BIG MISTAKE and I feel so embarrassed to have recommended this place and come and have a horrible night. First off, we were the first ones there besides the bartenders and employees of course. We got brought down stairs in a dirty dingy basement were the bathroom smelled of piss and probably haven't been cleaned in YEARS. As the show started it was OK, as they progressed through the show it got really bad and BORING. Not even 30 min into the show we were ready to leave and bored out of our minds. We felt bad if we had left for the bride to be, knowing if we left there was a good chance we weren't going to get into any other places at 11PM in Boston on a Saturday. So we stuck it out and stayed the show. All they did during the whole entire show was walk around, dance, and lip sing. They would only go to people who were holding there money out, if you didn't have money then you didn't see them. Which is really not OK especially were you are paying a cover to get in. Long story short, it was boring and dirty and cant even believe that they would even bring us down into the basement like that especially for being the first ones there. And not to mention we didn't even get sat at a table, they sat us along the BAR. Through out the night people were hanging all over us, pushing us out of our seats to get there drinks ect. The bar tenders downstairs on the other hand were AWESOME! They even agreed with us, how boring it was that night and what a mess the drags were, they were shocked them selves. And I was definitely shocked for this being my 6th time coming and have never experience anything like this before. I have always had a blast here and recommended it to people until this last time. Which will be my last time coming there unless the manager reaches out to me. At the end of the night we went up to talk to the manager to see if we could atleast get our cover charges back that were $10 a person for 10 people= $100 (biggest waste of money) and the guy told us "shes out back coutin her dough" wow! we asked if we could stick around and wait and he told us "shes gunna be out there for a while you probably wont see her tonight, go on yelp and write a review." I am very disappointed in this place and the night we gave her for her bachelorette party. read more

So it was a rainy night and I was kinda not in the mood for a show, but we went because it was my bff's birthday. Ten Dollar cover, was the cheapest cover i have eva paid in Boston. Cheap entertainment. We came for a bachelorette party... this is definitely not for the faint of heart. Entertainers are extremely talented but do not shy away from dancing on you, picking you out of the crowd, and potentially making you feel very uncomfortable. Last night, 7 good friends of mine and I have traveled from Maine to celebrate my Bachelorette party! Being our first time at Jaques, we did not know reservation was required and asked about seating. From the minute we walked in to the end of the 45 mins of wait time, we had the most unpleasant interraction with the manager who treated us like dirt and had no care on accomodating us at all!!! With no eye contact, she made sure to let all 8 of us know that if we had a problem with the wait time for a table, we can get a refund and go! I was heartbroken to hear that since my friends worked so hard in putting this Bachelorette party together for me!! We waited patiently as we were asked but when we saw her let others go in, I imediately reminded her about our group. Her answer was: "you can stand there and if you don't want to, you can get your refund and leave!" We couldn't believe it! We were in shock!! She was cold, rude and had no care! I asked to speak to a manager, only to find out that it was her I was already speaking to! With that attitude?! Wow!!! We all headed towards the door and as we were getting our money back, she just stood there, happy to see us go with no will whatsoever to remedy the situation!! We promise to never go back!!! Its a shame, as we heard it was a really good show and we were looking forward to seeing it, but with a manager that has an attitude like that, it ruined our mood to enjoy it! read more

I took my sister and her friends here for her Bachelorette party, and they all said that it was the BEST time they have ever had! I recommend calling in advance, as I did, and reserving a table if you are coming in a big group. Regardless, the performers made their way around the room so that everyone was able to interact with and enjoy their wonderful dancing. Their energy and spunk makes everyone want to get up and have a great time, and I have not laughed so hard in a VERY long time. This show is not for the more conservative types, but for those of you who really like to laugh and enjoy some raunchy humor, I highly recommend Jacques. I ABSOLUTELY adore this place! I took my girl Andrea there for her bachelorette party and being the maid of honor, I must say, I did a great job researching an incredible time for her. Keep in mind: this place gets slammed for Bachelorette parties - they're soo popular and for good reason, so BOOK AHEAD. I called in back in March to book her bachelorette party for July, so don't be surprised if they're booked up in advance. Cheap ten dollar cover at the door and strong, fun mixed drinks - cash only bar..cheap beers -- I ordered some mixed drinks, some Corona's and didn't find the drinks pricey. The staff is amazingly friendly and the show is good ol fashioned filthy bridal fun!!! Be prepared for ANYTHING - the future bride's skirt will get lifted, heads shoved in crotches, and totally un-announced lap dances - it's not for the faint of heart or shy individuals. If you are shy, though, try hiding in the middle of a group. Also...If you're a handsome guy, you will probably get a lot of attention ;-) They do allow Bachelotettes and birthday girls/boys on stage and make big of them - it's really great --they end up getting a lot of affection throughout the show ;) I loved the performers - they're gorgeous and talented..just don't be that person who asks for a million selfies with them while they're dancing ...let them do their thing and enjoy the moment!! I went to see a show for the first time last night and had a fantastic time! I was particularly impressed with the emergency exit safety reminders before the show started (of course done in a fun and entertaining way). Memories were made last night. Horrible memories. Having previously been to Jacque's, I was looking forward to sharing a seedy dive bar and old school drag with my friends. $10 cover? Fine. Cheap drinks in small disposable cups? NBD. Dollar Tree Halloween decor from 10 years ago haphazardly stapled to the stage? Quaint. I'll even overlook the throngs of messy bachelorettes creating what can only be a fire hazard of an establishment that has no intent on ever operating anything to code. What I will NOT excuse is witnessing a friend be the victim of racial insults and then be SPAT UPON by the same drag performer when said friend refused to tip her. Performer Fena Barbitall had previously chastised our audience for not tipping her as well as the previous crowd which is tacky, desperate, and showcases her complete lack of professional finesse. I'll even allow for the playful jab at one's race or culture, if handled by a queen who possess the skill to both playfully tease and still make the crowd laugh. Fena Barbitall has none of this skill and has as much business holding a mic as she does lip-syncing Beyonce and wearing anything skintight. My friends and I had previously tipped each performer, including Miss Barbitall, and were sitting in the audience when she came back around. She stopped at my friend, the one she had previously insulted, and awaited a tip. When he politely declined she thrust her up-turned hat into his face and again he declined. She then removed a large feather from the hat and shoved it into his face. Taking the feather from his face, he returned the feather to her. This is when she became totally un-hinged. She immediately snatched the feather from him, berated us with insults, and spat upon both of us. SPAT. UPON. US. We quickly gathered our things while this lunatic drag queen screamed obscenities at us and went back upstairs. I met with manager Kris, who was apologetic and informed us that the performer was already being fired. She offered us a round on the house but needless to say we were done. We are a group of professional actors who were in Boston on a national tour. We all live in New York. We go to drag shows. We ourselves are performers. Never in my significant years of gay bar patronage have I encountered such deplorable behavior at an establishment. The LGBT community already has enough adversity to deal with, but when it turns on its own kind something is seriously wrong. What was once a fond memory of Boston has now become infected with unfounded hostility, crazed hatred, and bigotry. This place is so much fun!! On the particular night that I went, it was jam packed with three bachelorette parties. We had to sit at the bar, which had a little bit of an obstructed view, but the cabaret members tend to float through the crowd throughout their show so this really wasn't a concern. The drinks are CHEAP by Boston standards and quite heavy on the liquor, so you could hardly be disappointed about that. Then the show! The show was FANTASTIC, so much fun. The music has quite a fun range, from songs like TLC's "No Scrubs" to Christina Aguilera's "Show Me How You Burlesque", all of which are lip synced by various cabaret members to a choreographed routine. One cabaret member dressed like Nicki Minaj and pulled it off incredibly! The songs they use and the jokes they make can get pretty raunchy, so leave the easily offended at home, but it makes for such a great girls night - I can see why their show attracts so many bachelorette parties! read more

So, I keep seeing posts about how rude the door staff/security is. I'd like to take an opposing view in this one. Yes, at times, they can be rude and a bit abrasive, but think about it: should one adult have to ask another adult to not stand on the furniture? Should they have to ask the same person or group of people multiple times to please sit down as they are blocking fire lanes and the view of mother patrons? Should they really have to tell the same people over and over again to get off the stage, they are not the star attraction? As a fellow performer, (not at the club btw) I am appalled at how disrespectful some people act when at a drag show. "I've never been to a drag show before, I don't know the rules", you say? If you went to see a production of "Hamilton" how do you think other patrons OR the performers would feel if you suddenly stood up and started dancing or got up on stage?
