Excellent service, ambiance ( we chose to sit outside--very cozy with potted plants and overhead lights) made us feel very welcome. Our bartender and server were very welcoming. I wanted to like the food, but it was at best. mediocre. The service was good, and the staff was lovely, but the food was nothing to write home about. Overpriced, yes. Fish was overbatered, the fried were over-salted, and the cole slaw was spoiled. I am sorry to say but this place really missed the mark. I did like Mary, the proprietor, and I did find the staff friendly and helpful, but at the end of the day, I wanted a great meal...and I did not get one at the Sly Fox. I will give it six months and try back...see if the food has improved! read more

I've never seen a bartender with a worse attitude from a group of people tipping her 100% on every round. I'm sure she had something going on but telling a guest they didn't need another shot because it was 12:20 because she didn't feel like making a green tea, so she could go back to her phone is crazy read more

Recently tried this local pub, which we sat outside. The Sly Fox had great service....It's a small family owned business, which makes it even better. The beer on draft was great and burgers were awesome. I got to say the onion rings out did the fries! We got the Carrot cake to end the the night - delicious. The staff was very friendly and personable. We'll definitely come back. Make sure you bring cash but they have an ATM inside. Good food good prices. Support local business. I had an hour to kill and found this nice pub nearby. They have a great menu, lots of fresh food. Had a burger and salad that were perfect. Very tasty, just what I needed for a quick lunch. This what you call a true neighborhood bar! this is one of the best bars to go relax and grab a cold Guiness, the owner or bartender will go out of there way to make sure you are happy. The crack is great here as this Irish tavern is fun and festive with friendly service and a neighborhood vibe. Mind you this is a basic bar so don't expect "signature" cocktails or trending yuppie apps. Mo and I were here for a 50th birthday party and apps were served including mozzarella sticks, O-rings, fries, chicken "fingahs" and mini 'za slices. The food was hot and crispy with four types o' dipping sauces. The inside is simple and clean thanks to a recent renovation. There was also a young bloke there providing live music with guitar and voice doing decent cover tunes. She makes a mean chicken salad sandwich and if you're lucky she will bestow you with one of her signature winks. Sometimes when I am sitting in a pub on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon I start to feel a bit guilty. Shouldn't I be out getting fresh air taking a stroll on the beach or cooking a Sunday lunch or taking a day trip somewhere?? Well the Sly Fox takes away all that needless guilt because this place is airy and bright. It's a small little cozy place but its full of light and looks out over a lovely park across the street. We had a really great time at the Sly Fox. It wasn't crowded last Saturday.. but we were there early.. between 8-10pm. We didn't have any food but spent most of our time playing darts and watching the Bruins. The only cons are that they don't take credit cards (but they do have an ATM machine) and they only have a few beers on tap.. and none of them are anything exciting.
