I decided to stop in because I was in this mall picking up a prescription, and this restaurant is located a couple doors down from Walgreens. I placed my order over the phone from my car. A lady answered and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I went in and my order was ready as promised. I ordered 2 quarts of wonton eggdrop soup with extra crispy style noodles , and a combination plate of Chicken and Broccoli with brown rice. It came with an egg roll. The owner was friendly. They do have booths if you choose to eat in. My soup was ok. The wontons we're good but the broth lacked flavor. My entree was good but a bit oily. The eggroll was a bit dry. I was so hoping to give this place a good review but unfortunately even though the staff was very nice the food was lacking. read more

Only tried the general sos which is my favorite . The chicken isn't quite chicken, crunchy with no meat ... The rice was okay and egg roll was okay if you don't exam it too closely ! Quite possibly the worst Chinese food I have even had! I ordered a vegetable lo mein and a beef and broccoli lunch special .... it came out quite fast got back to the office me and a coworker started eating.... the fried rice wasn't actually fried rice it was curry rice yuk! Nothing special: sesame chicken (wasn't the white meat specified on menu), pork fried dumplings, cold sesame noodles - no scallions, barely enough sauce, and it lacked the soy/peanut tang I like. Decent: General Tso's shrimp (sauce on the side which was a nice touch, tangerine beef - very tender and savory. The counter person, very pleasant. For whatever the reason good Chinese food seems to be a hard find in the general area. Though you could certainly eat here this is your typical Chinese food take out place. I came here for a quick sit down meal and my food was delivered to me in a nice ceramic plate with metal silverware. This was a pleasant surprise since I was expecting the food to be in a Styrofoam container with a plastic fork. I've had this food about a year ago and i wasn't impressed, I figured give it another try. My mistake, it was worse than the last time! Ordered chicken and string beans and the beans were shriveled and old and the chicken was cut julienne and not much of it at all in the dish it was mostly shriveled string beans, tasteless and to boot there was a metal thread from scrub brush they use to clean the pans in my food! Let me start out by saying that I'm Jewish and that means Chinese food is a staple in our lives. Yes, it's funny, but true. I don't generally write reviews, but this time I am because of the person who gave the negative review. This place is under new ownership. The previous owners were not personable whatsoever. Every time I went in there, I also felt the place was dirty and the people just outright unfriendly. The new owners just took over and the place is different, not to mention that the woman who greets everyone, Xing (pronounced Sing), speaks English very well and has the most wonderful personality - no chip on her shoulder like the last owners had. That's a huge change right there. I judge a Chinese restaurant by their scallion pancakes, and for that item, they have hit it out of the park. Having had it for the first time this week, I am in Scallion Pancake Paradise, especially if you get the garlic sauce for dipping. So one dish like that gets your attention, but what really sewed it up for me was their overwhelming desire to make the customer happy. If you want something not on the menu, just tell them what you want and they make it. While you eat the food, Xing is eager to find out how you like the dish. If you think it needs something else or whatever, it gets done to your satisfaction. No nasty attitude, no problems - just good food. I usually had a fixed list of things I eat when I used to go there with the previous owners. WIth Xing's help and her husband's cooking skills, I am going to have a wonderful time experimenting with new dishes and flavors. I hope to follow up with another review at a later time. I expect the Jade Garden honeymoon to continue for a while. My suggestion is to go for the gusto and tell them what you want and how you like it. Was visiting family in warren and decided to order dinner for 3. Went to pick it up and wondered why the bill seemed off. When we got to relatives house and opened the bag realized they had up sold us on food. We asked for 3 spring rolls they made it 9!Each roll was $1.20 so $7.20 added to our bill that we had not asked for. Our chicken and broccoli and was broccoli than meat and instead of coming in a regular quart container came in a plastic container..seemed like less food. But the quart of pork fried rice did come in regular quart container and was correct amount. It's a sneaky practice. No freebies when you reach a certain price point like at our local Chinese place. We've routinely had our Thursday night Chinese dinners delivered from Jade's for about 4 years now and I can't think of one reason why I haven't reviewed them before now! While my intro says it all, I'd just like to add that the food is always consistently made and is of excellent quality. Keep in mind, this is a fast food style chinese restaurant, so I'm keeping my comparison within this genre. The lunch special is a must because for a low price, you get fried rice (optional white/brown rice), soup, and an entre. It's in a convenient location for me, so I've been here quite a few times, and the food is always consistent and at a generous portion. You can definitely share this with another person. Not only is the service extremely friendly and highly efficient, I want to focus a little more on food quality. At first impression, you can tell just by the side soup that the cooks pay attention to detail. The wontons in the soup are a meal in itself - they are tasty, have the most generous filling I've known, and is "al dente" (what's the chinese translation?). And that broth tho!! I've heard in the winter people just come in for the broth. Egg drop soup is just right - not too salty and not a crazy orange color. For all the entres, food is always piping hot, not over-cooked, and always flavorful while not being too salty. If you're thinking of your health, but had to choose some sort of fast food, I would say this is a decent choice (if you get white rice, not the pork fried rice).
