This is a great spot! Middlesex County always treats me well when I'm on the hunt for a quick bite, and this place is no exception. Tucked into a small strip mall, it's easy to find with decent parking available. The food here is exactly how Chinese food should be--delicious and satisfying. The attendants are incredibly kind. I went on Christmas Day (yes, I know, shame on me), but the staff couldn't have been sweeter--they were genuinely happy to serve. The space is tiny, with limited seating for dining in, but that's perfectly fine since Chinese food is all about takeout. I ordered the beef and broccoli with lo mein and the General Tso's with lo mein--both were very good. The takeout packaging was clean, and the price was reasonable--everything came out to under $30, including veggie rolls. They even threw in an extra treat and a free drink! I had an issue with a missing item, and the next order I placed a month later prompted a call before making my food, complaining how GH refunded an item on the last order and that was wrong. They were abrasive and treated me like I stole from them! In the past, I repeatedly asked for extra sauce and they would send one or two. CHEAP. Apparently, they were still stirring about the $9 item that was refunded because they didn't deliver it how it was advertised, with sauce. The meat in every dish was over cooked. Nothing tasted the same. I understood the increase in pricing and was willing to accept that, but the food was not good. The fried rice was extremely pale, bland and undercooked. This is a small place that fits the standard model of quick, cheap, and good Chinese food. Overall when it's on it deserves 4 stars but a few times it has been a little inconsistent and can drop a star. There are better places but this location is convenient and close, so overall I would recommend it for a quick meal. I've tried numerous dishes and have had a good experience most of the times. We spent the day in NYC and wanted Chinese food. Looked up New Great Wok and the reviews were good. When I walked in, I was met by the cutest little girl. Sweet as could be. We ordered standard menus, Lo Mein , egg rolls, ribs, wonton soup, along with a few other things. All was hot and delicious. I'm giving them 5 stars just because of that little girls smile. This is the only place I'll order my Chinese takeout! Food shows up piping hot and my order is always correct. You can ask for less sauce or for items to be spicier and they'll actually do it. Food is flavorful and each dish tastes different from the next, unlike some other restaurants where everything is covered in 'brown sauce'. The vegetables are amazingly fresh and I'd have to say that you can actually order some pretty healthy stuff from them by ordering from the steamed entrees section. I love their shrimp dishes especially since they are pretty generous with the portions and the shrimp are huge! They're cooked perfectly and never tough or dry. This place has great Chinese food! I used to order from China one but after getting from here it's become my go-to Chinese food spot. I've never been disappointed, food is good and always consistent. I also love how they make their dumplings, most places have a really thick dough on the dumplings but these are nice and thin. Their delivery times vary depending on how busy they are but I've never waited over 45mins. The Chinese cuisine place we used closed so I search here on Yelp fpr a new one and came across New Great Wok. They are very close to my home and while many, many years ago my family tried this place and did not care for it - I believe they were purchased by someone new. We've order General Tso chicken - I like it mild, and they always do it perfectly. What I like is I do not have to ask for all white meat chicken - that is their standard for this dish. My husband likes their dumplings and we thought the egg rolls and chicken-chow-mein was very good as well. Delivery person was very polite. My only complaint is that the fried rice is really just white rice with the add-ins. It was a very, very pale yellow with vegetables. There was no taste. Whenever I look at a place that has high reviews like this I always look at the low reviews to see what the problem was. I find that they're normally pain in the ass people and that is the case especially with this place. The food is great , it's hot, and it's not expensive. I got the beef fried rice and it's hard to find a place where the beef is tender the rice is firm and not mushy and the vegetables are cooked properly this place gets all of that perfectly. So my advice is to not listen to the pain in the ass with vegan friends and definitely eat here. read more

We have ordered twice from this place. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Doubt removed. Both times we ordered delivery through GH. Both deliveries were over an hour later than estimated. Both times I called and was told "it's really busy tonight" except after two incidents it seems it's just poor planning than a surprise. I also called to ensure the vegetable tofu soup was a vegetable broth base. I was told yes. It was not. It was chicken broth and made me sick. The pad veggie Thai was also made with chicken broth. Both (vegan) people who ate it were violently sick afterwards. So even though I called to confirm and wrote VEGGIE BROTH - no chicken, our food was made with chicken. NOPE. This is usually my favorite place , but am highly disappointed in my last order. I ordered 4 wings with white rice and gravy. My order is delivered, but without the gravy. I call the restaurant and am told that I can not order gravy unless I order a dish that comes with gravy. I have ordered this same meal before without issue. We were attending an event at Roxy & Duke's, which is a 5-minute walk from this place. I was looking to get us dinner, and this place, McDonalds, and Dunkin Donuts were the only options nearby where we could grab a bite. Being from Manhattan, I was a little skeptical about ordering Chinese food in the middle-of-nowhere New Jersey. Lo and behold, Oh my God! I ordered the General Tso's tofu with broccoli and two pints of brown rice. My part time job is to conduct a 420-friendly LGBTQ-friendly walking/food tour in Manhattan, so I can say with confidence that I know what I'm talking about in regards to food. This was hands-down the best General Tso's tofu I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It was prepared perfectly. The brown rice was unbelievably good. I must have had brown rice at least 100 times in my life, and the only other place it's tasted so good is at Superiority Burger in NYC. The only thing I'm sad about is that I live far away from this restaurant, and the next time I order the same dish locally, I'll be disappointed. We just moved into South Bound Brook from New York, over the last 4 weeks we have tried three different Chinese places including New Great Wok. This place has the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life. I know that might seem like a very BOLD statement but it's the truth. The food is GREAT every time we order not just sometimes like most Chinese restaurants. Just some of the food we've ordered: Plain lomain, boneless ribs, chicken and broccoli, they also have homemade ice tea which is a HUGE plus!!! Not going to order from them again. Was so disappointed tonight. Order took way too long over an hour and a half. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they didn't include the sweet and sour sauce. I order from Great Wok pretty regularly and I can honestly say I'm never disappointed. The staff is very nice and I've never had a mistake with them, also they make sure your address and phone number are correct from the start. Their delivery is fast and pleasant too! Every so often, they've thrown in a free ice tea or a roll and it's something that keeps me coming back. I enjoyed the food so much. It was excellent! Fresh and tasty. I ordered the boneless spare rib tips along with a small pork fried rice. The boneless spare rib tips were perfect . ( No nasty fat on any of them) crisp and juicy pieces. As far as the pork fried rice was concerned. Their was a good fair amount of pork mixed in with the rice along with some typical veggies.
