I have wanted to try this restaurant for awhile. I'm not sure if they're affiliated with the Jade Harbor in Chinatown but they both have honey beef on their menu. We frequent the one in Chinatown because we love the honey beef and Ho fun. This location is a lot more convenient so we gave it a try. Of course we ordered the honey beef, shrimp Ho fun ( they may call it chow fun) and we also tried the roasted duck and pizza rolls. I think the water was tap water. The honey beef flavor was good but the meat is a bit chewy and we just felt it wasn't as good as the other place. The noodles seemed dry to me my husband thought they seemed a little chewy. That was my first time having roast duck and I liked it, my husband only liked the skin he thinks it's an acquired taste. I still want to go again to try some other things but I definitely prefer the Chinatown location better, again not sure if they're affiliated but they have the same name and similar menu. Also at the end of our meal we waited a very long time for our check. My husband flagged the guy down who said hold on and then we waited another 10 minutes and they don't itemize your bill so I'm not even sure what was.

Our first time back at Jade Harbor in seven years, but it may not be our last visit as we have family friends who have moved into this lower Bustleton Avenue ever expanding Asian neighborhood. It looks the same except for gradual aging of the facility. No dim sum available on a Wednesday late afternoon, so we ordered off the regular menu. The five of us ordered: 1. Hot & Sour Soup - A large bowl for serving the table, full of mushrooms, sprouts, bits of pork and heavy dose of vinegar. It was quite good, but perhaps a little too salty. 2. Salt/Pepper Pork (my interpretation) - Crisply wok fried chunks of lightly breaded on the bone pork with green garnish. Pretty good, but it would have been less work and mess to have it in the form of pork chops. 3. Grouper in Fujianese Sauce - I forgot that Fuzhou cuisine is even sweeter than Cantonese, so these fillets were coated and deep fried into a yellow golden platter, that while very tasty, had some of us concerned about sugar intake. 4. Short Ribs in Garlic Sauce - By the fact that most of this beef dish was consumed before we left, it was the most popular choice on our table lazy susan. Bone in, it was a bit of a challenge to work the morsels of meat off the bone, but the savory garlic sauce and tenderness of the star attraction made it worthwhile. 5. General's Chicken - There may never have been a General Tso in Chinese history, but his namesake dish was well interpreted by this kitchen. Large chunks, lightly breaded and wokked with a nice semi fruity/pepper dark amber sauce, with heavy broccoli garnish, it was an easy tasty choice, without bones or other impediments to enjoyment. 6. Eggplant in Garlic Sauce - Always a favorite veggie dish, this one came with a mix of other veggies. It was soft and pungent and delicious. It was exactly what was expected. Sliced oranges with the bill is always a nice touch. We enjoyed our family feast. The food definitely contributed significantly to our enjoyment.

Won't lie this spot was great to us. We had amazing food and loved the vibe inside. The seafood came right out of the tank in the back which was legendary! I definitely recommend coming by here with a group and stay eatin good!

My third time eating at this restaurant and the food has always been great. I prefer to dine in rather than take my food home. I enjoy the ambiance and the service. I enjoy talking to the servers. Even the other patrons are nice and friendly. It's a very relaxed atmosphere.

Thank you, Pho Saigon, for being closed because if you weren't, I would never have discovered this culinary delight! Cantonese-style dim sum speaks to me on so many levels, especially when the stuffed tofu skins look and taste so good. I found myself sipping up all the soup from these tender morsels, which I have never done with the same dim sum dish at any other restaurant! The shrimp dumplings and shrimp shu mai were also very good. Lots of shrimp perfectly prepared with no shells or sand like other places. I will certainly be back!

My family and I used to frequent this spot whenever we were in Northeast Philly. They had $5 rice platters for lunch special. It included a free soup with the lunch special. It was honestly unbeatable price for the service. However, we visited a couple of days ago. The rice platters were $8 each. They no longer offer free soup. The rice portions was bigger and the meat portions were smaller. My go-to is usually beef and brocolli but they also changed up the cut of meat so the meat texture also went down a bit. I would still go but there are other options nearby.

Parking sucks, But at least the dim sum is good Cheap eats. Take advantage of their $5 lunch rice combos, definitely worth the money

Food was tasty and it came out in a timely manner! We had chicken on the house because the owner was friends with my uncle. Overall experience was pleasant and it was super busy on a weekend night.

The fact that Jade Harbor is open normal business hours on holidays is definitely a plus. I have went to a couple of other businesses "cough"(Wang's House, Kung Fu tea, Wing Stop, etc...) they are close. I don't blame ya closing but I would like to be inform through online. Didn't feel like to dine in so me and hubby opted for take out. The guy at the counter is super quick and nice. If he was our server when we dine in, I won't mind to tip him 25%. We bought Pizza Rolls(2/order), Shrimp Fried Rice, West Lake Beef Soup, and Beef Pan-fried noodles. It was alot of food, and for the price is not bad. Definitely will return for their take out.

While the flavor was clean and aromatic, the kitchen used chicken breast rather than the traditional bone-on thigh meat, which made the texture a bit chewy. We also tried the Szechuan Squid. Be aware that this is more of an "American-style" Szechuan dish -- it was sweet and sour rather than spicy and lacked the traditional peppers or numbing heat. However, the texture of the squid was remarkably soft and tender, reminiscent of an Italian-style slow-cooked calamari, which was a pleasant surprise. To round out the meal, the Dry Fried String Beans with Minced Pork (Gan Bian Si Ji Dou) were a solid highlight. As someone who frequently eats at more 'cleaver-heavy' Chinatown spots like Jin Wei, I found Lee How Fook to be a friendly and consistent spot, but the preparations here are definitely tailored to a much milder palate. If you are looking for that specific 'hacked' bone-in dark meat or a fiery Szechuan kick, this might feel a bit safe.

The stars if today were the appetizer dishes. The rice noodles with the special peanut sauce was 100% the best and exactly what you'd expect when you order that dish. The squid and popcorn chicken were both amazing and fried lightly but with a great crispy texture. The small pineapple bun with butter was delicious. We actually had it as a starter and again for dessert. While we loved the apps, the baked rice with pork chop and pepper steak rice bowls were just ok. They weren't amazingly flavorful, but they were still tasty with heavy portions so the value was there. We had HK style milk tea and topped off our meal with their special creamy french toast. Overall we left overly full and didn't have to pay too much. Wow Cafe is very affordable and the staff is very friendly and fast to cater to your needs. I regrettably went on Valentines with my boyfriend after the Barnes. My food was so bad that my mood was negatively impacted (seriously). Stay away from any of the soups/ramens, the broth is exactly the same flavorless base for every soup. I'd stick with appetizers. I got the worst thing I've ever ordered at a restaurant here: Tom Kha Seafood Soup, it was supposed to be spicy but it was just sweet with no flavor at all. Nothing like any other Asian spicy seafood soups I've had before, lacking any normal amount of seafood (hardly any), and weird uncooked veggies, like huge sliced raw tomato bits. I ate the small amount of seafood out of it and left the rest. It was hardly edible. The scallion pancakes were also the most underwhelming I've ever had. I usually fight for the last piece but me and my boyfriend left half of it uneaten. No flavor or crisp. Seemed frozen and reheated, not fresh. The soup dumplings were the only good thing we ordered and they were just fine, nothing amazing. Additionally, there was a very small amount of them to our order. The Vietnamese beef soup was ok but very below average, nothing good that I'd recommend ordering, same bland broth. I really wanted to like this place and I usually never give out one star reviews, but it was truly bad and the ratings on it are clearly inflated and not reflective of its food quality. Small amounts of bad food for a price you could get much better things elsewhere. I'd rather have gone to Wawa than gone here (and I did after because I was still hungry).
