There's not a solid parking lot for this building but you can park behind the plaza next to it where Coco is located and walk to the front. Very happy to have a Hong Kong style Cha Chan Tang restaurant right here in Edison, NJ. While there are a few places in NYC, its nice to see Jersey finally get one too. The stars if today were the appetizer dishes. The rice noodles with the special peanut sauce was 100% the best and exactly what you'd expect when you order that dish. The squid and popcorn chicken were both amazing and fried lightly but with a great crispy texture. The small pineapple bun with butter was delicious. We actually had it as a starter and again for dessert. While we loved the apps, the baked rice with pork chop and pepper steak rice bowls were just ok. They weren't amazingly flavorful, but they were still tasty with heavy portions so the value was there. We had HK style milk tea and topped off our meal with their special creamy french toast. Overall we left overly full and didn't have to pay too much. Wow Cafe is very affordable and the staff is very friendly and fast to cater to your needs. Torn between a 3 or 4, I gave it a 4 for the appetizers that I got and liked. I didn't get a chance to try the main menu since we weren't that hungry. We got a small pineapple butter bun ($1.99), Rice noodles roll ($5.99), and crispy popcorn chicken ($8.99). They were freshly made and hot when I got it, and I didn't have to wait too long to get it. You can't mess up the rice noodles and popcorn chicken, and they didn't. The rice noodles were chewy and flavorful thanks to the sauce. The popcorn chicken was crispy and good flavors as well. The small pineapple butter bun for $1.99 was not worth it for the price. Small and nothing special. The drink I got was just okay... it didn't feel like it had much flavors. Parking was uh questionable since I'm not from the area. It looked like there was some parking in the front but very limited. We end up circling around and found they had parking in the back lot. Returning back because my friend picked it so I gave other dishes a tried. I still think the rice noodle (cheung fun) is probably the best dish there because of the sauce. I tried their tomato beef with instant noodle, which came out a bit bland and not enough tomato taste, flavorless. Definitely could be better. Not Hong Kong style enough. My dream come true - a HK style cafe right in our area. First - HK style hot milk tea. Nice and strong, great flavor. The tea is 5 stars. Pork chop with curry flavor on spaghetti was also very good. Daughter has been craving for HK cafe food since we came back from Canada. I've read about this place and reviews and been wanting to come here. We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Baked Fried Rice or Noodle with pork chop - Daughter got it with rice. She said that it tasted like pizza melted over rice and she liked that. Chicken leg rice or instant noodles with tomato meat sauce- I chose instant noodles. The chicken leg was nicely fried but it had an after taste that I didn't care for. Hubs said that it was the baking soda. Fish fillet in casserole- Hubs wasn't sure what to expect but he said that the fish was a mystery. It could've been tilapia or swai. The owner/server never came back to check on us for us to ask. The soup was milky and he questioned why. He didn't know if it was from coconut or from pork bone but it tasted bland. He's not questioning if it was done properly but he wouldn't order it again. We also got the following drinks: HK Style Milk Tea with no sugar - daughter liked it and thought it was pretty good. Lemon Iced Tea- this was pretty good as well. Place was empty the whole time we were there. It felt weird to be in there. The dining area looked cute, kind of like a subway station. Service was quick but wasn't too friendly. We never saw her again until we asked for the bill. The owner speaks Mandarin. I was a little surprised because I thought HK cafes are generally opened by people who speak Cantonese. They are located in a building by themselves next to a strip mall and parking is terrible here. There's a couple of parking spots outside the restaurant and then you have to park in the back. It took us a while to decide which parking lot in the back to legally park because they aren't part of the parking lot in the back. They're completely fenced from the back so we couldn't decide which was the best lot. It took us a bit to figure it out. If you decide to park in the back, you walk to the restaurant through this tiny alley that's between the restaurant and a strip mall next to it. Hubs was nervous about walking through the alley because he saw rat traps over there. I'm glad we came here and got to try HK cafe in NJ! This place is one and unfortunately done for us. read more

We ordered the curried fish balls, beef casserole, and peanut butter rice rolls. He loves the fish balls a lot. I loved the rice rolls very much. We were able to either order from the phone or with the waiter. However, we noticed that there were inconsistencies between the paper menu and the digital one. Portion: 5 The portions are on the larger side. We ordered a couple of appetizers and two main dishes. That was more than enough for the 3 of us to share. The toast at the end is a lot bigger than I thought. For the price, I think it was a pretty good deal. Flavors: 5 Look no further if you want some authentic Hong Kong diner flavors! First time trying out this place after seeing all the great reviews. Upon arriving, we weren't sure if we should go in since it was empty for a Friday night. We decided to give it a try anyway... and oh boy, are we glad we did. We ordered baked chicken with black pepper sauce over rice (we saw another posted calling mushroom sauce and looked so good), beef brisket stew/casserole, Hong Long Milk Tea, fried chicken leg, and milky creamy HK toast. Everything we ordered were soooo good. What a nice surprise. What I appreciated the most was that when I asked our waitress if the baked pork chop dish with black pepper sauce is the mushroom sauce dish I saw from another poster, she explained that it is the same dish but it's not called mushroom sauce, but if I want, she can have extra mushrooms added. We said yes to extra mushrooms thinking they were going to nickel and dime us and charge extra. To our surprise, they didn't charge us extra for the extra mushrooms, and it really made the dish much better than if it just had a couple pieces of mushrooms. The rice roll is also good, except it is listed on the menu as pork rice roll, but I didn't taste or see any pork in it at all. The pineapple bun was quite small, definitely much smaller than the bun you buy from a regular chinese bakery. It comes with a thick slab of butter in the middle which actually ended up making the bun taste quite creamy. A bit too much butter for my liking but I know it's the rage in HK. The mango pomelo tea was excellent, not too sweet. The HK milk tea was creamy and delicious. Overall, great cafe with tasty food. I will definitely be going back for the baked pork chop! read more

New HK cafe in Edison! I don't know of any other HK cafes in the area, so this is a nice addition. First of all, the food was quite tasty. I ordered a baked chicken curry dish, which was really flavorful. I also tried one of the fried rice dishes which I really enjoyed. Generous portion, especially given the price. I finished my plate and was really full after... could have easily kept some leftovers. Parking lot is in the back, shared with Coco cafe. The HK milk tea did look expensive. Its a basic drink, so $6 seems kinda high imo. Another complaint is that food took a really long time to come out. Since they are new, I won't reflect that in my rating, but if it is like this later I may have a tough time coming back. read more

This is amazing that there is finally a HK cafe in New Jersey. Driving distance from my home, not so much. However, I dined here once and I'd definitely come back and dine again. Reminds me of being in Hong Kong and dining in those small local eateries that only have a few things on the menu. This small shop has all the local Hong Kong style favorites, from soup noodles to rice noodles to those chicken baked casseroles. Bringing my kids to try home town food is always an amazing experience. The place had things for the kids to look at and was decorated with the home style Hong Kong vibe. The service was great. The rice rolls were good, pepper stake with rice was acceptable, but the spam and the sauce in the Cantonese style instant noodle were way too salty. For a small place, they also dedicated half of the space for company logo customized vending machines that dole out stuffed animals. Question that decision. Small portions and overpriced for what you get. My husband got the chicken thigh and scallions dish. That was decent. This breakfast style place cost $120 which I felt was overpriced for the food. I absolutely love everything about this restaurant! I'm so happy that Edison finally has a HK cafe. Everything I've tied so far is all very good. I was surprised that the ramen dishes didn't have soup in it, but, honestly, I don't hate it. The pineapple bun is a must get! The actual bun is a lot smaller than what you would normally see at the bakery, but the taste definitely makes up for the size. It's a must get! I don't write many reviews but feel like I had to write this review. I can't tell you how excited I was when I learned that a Hong Kong style cafe opened up in town. I've always said that although Edison has so many different varieties of Asian food (Viet, Korean, Taiwanese), we never had any true Hong Kong style foods here. That was the ONE thing that I felt was missing here. I would always have to travel to NYC if I wanted rice noodle rolls, shark fin soup, baked spaghetti/rice so I was absolutely ecstatic when I found out wow cafe had opened up! I ordered a lot of my favorites such as: Curry fish balls, rice noodle with special sauce (similar to the food carts in nyc- IYKYK), shark fin soup, baked pork spaghetti with tomato sauce, and of course HK style milk tea. My honest review of the food: the main entree needs some work. But they just opened so I think they need some time to work out some kinks and hopefully improve. But the HK milk tea, the shark fin soup and the rice noodle were awesome and so reminiscent of HK style cafes I've had in NYC. I'm excited to try the other things on the menu. The ambiance was also cool- they have a claw machine section which is nice to have while we were waiting for our food (take out). Wish there was more variety at the claw machine though. There's also a wall where you can write a special note and stick it up on there. Overall, I feel like this cafe is a great addition to have in town and I wish them all the best. So happy I don't have to travel to the city when I'm craving HK food. Another tip: Parking is in the back of the restaurant and from there you go through a small path back to the front. read more
