I've gone there multiple times and this was my go to best Chinese food in the area. My gf ordered general tsos and requested white meat (over an online order) She brought it home and it was like fried bread crumbs. You couldn't even chew it. I called and the girl working the phone was extremely nice and she said she would talk to the chef and would call me back. She called me back and said no don't offer them another dish made right. We use the very thinly sliced meat we use to make chicken and broccoli and since it's so thin it burns. They know this and they don't even do anything about it. We spent almost 50 dollars on one meal a side of white rice and edamame. They didn't even care that I said I will be throwing this out. Avoid this place at all costs! Terribly run! Terrible service! It's a bit of a drive from Bucks County (Lower Makefield), but it's worth the time in gas for a good meal. As many others have written, there are no standout Chinese and Japanese restaurants in Lower Bucks and NE Philly. We tried the Dim Sum Factory in Horsham a few times years ago, and good meals each time, but over time it had gotten more crowded, parking became a pain, and due to the crowding, it was louder and not a relaxed atmosphere; so we stopped. Didn't realize until last night while searching for a place for dinner that Dim Sum Factory had other locations. As other Yelpers wrote, this Dim Sum Factory on Krewstown Rd was nowhere as busy hence, a quieter more relaxed environment, with ample off-street parking. We came early, arrived at 5 PM and the place was surprisingly empty but shortly after we arrived others came and by the time we left, I'd say 1/2 the tables were occupied; did notice they do a fair amount of takeout. This is a far smaller-sized restaurant and perhaps the larger share of the business is takeout. That said there was only 1 server handling tables as takeout and she was terrific; cool, calm, and friendly. We did not feel as though we waited a long time between dishes as we didn't order everything at once; we like to pace out our meals. This comes with that negative feel of other places that want the full order, and claim to pace but don't; hence feel as though they need to turn the table on a timer. Nuff about this stuff, let's get to the food it was fresh, beautifully plated, and very tasty. We were very much pleased and will be back now that we have found a suitable place. Just a longer drive, hence we drive for our good meals. We opened with the pork soup dumplings, 6 pieces, we long ago learned how to properly enjoy soup dumplings. Made with care and no skimping on meat or broth in the dumpling. Next, we had the HK-style Shumai, 4 pieces, big pieces at that. We prefer smaller more delicate dumplings. These per the photo are large and the meat is more packed, and more solid than we like; nonetheless, it was a good dish, especially with the dumpling sauce, which gave them a sweater flavor. Next, we had the spring roll, 2 pieces, not usually my favorite, is my wife's, but I will say it was not over-fried and not greasy; all pluses in my book. We then shared the chicken with garlic sauce and added eggplant- this was a hit. All the fresh and interesting vegetables, the textures, and the peppers gave it flavor.... the eggplant was a nice addition. The best dish we had this evening. What a fun time my adult son took me here and we ate a huge assortment of different dumplings until he thought I was going to burst ! I barely weighed 105lbs back then and I ate more then him three times my size but they had such a tasty assortment and it was pretty new to me only once or twice many years ago when I lived in Center City Philly when I last had any Dim Sum Ta nice Chinese place . Ordered takeout from here. Very easy to find and park in a strip off the street. Inside is decorated very cute, would love to come back and dine in. Was greeted as soon as I walked in and my pick up order was ready. Ordered a bunch of things to try. The duck noodle soup with Shanghai noodles was very good! (Be prepared for bones, it is not duck breast!) The pickled greens are a great addition. The Shanghai pork dumplings were great. Soft bun outside. Sweet dumpling sauce. The string beans with minced pork were pretty good, could've used more salt.. Would've loved some pickled greens in there too. Yam pancakes were a great texture and just the right touch of sweetness. When did Dim Sum Factory open in NE? Never know their existence until recently. For whatever reasons, these dim sum places is not flourishing in NE Philly. The two other dumpling/dim sum restaurants on Castor Avenue didn't survive before and after covid. I really do hope this place does. I was really craving for soup dumplings one day and it was the only thing I would eat. Google and found Dim Sum Factory of Krewstown. Order XLB, Shanghai Shuimai, and Roast Duck Noodle Soup. The Pork Soup Dumplings and Shanghai Shuimai definitely hits the spot. It was so good that I barely wants to eat the noodle soup lol. I guess I'm a little biased after eating XLB because the noodle soup didn't taste too well, it was kinda bland. Our take out was really good last time, that we decided to dine in. I'm so glad that DSF is open on Christmas Day. I have to order XLB and Shanghai Shuimai again. Along with Scallion Pancake and Beef Pancake. XLB, Shuimai, and Scallion Pancakes were definitely delicious. I don't know what's that green vegetable they put in Beef Pancake, not scallion or cilantro, it got a really weird taste to them. Hubby order General Tso's Shrimp which he says is ok. I end our meal with Sweet Rice Pudding. Some part of the rice pudding were hard as rock, maybe didn't heat up too well? Found this place when randomly looking for some dim sum. Went on a Saturday, after the lunch hrs, and found it to be empty, yet still inviting. We tried several different dumplings, which were all delicious. It is BYOB, but that didn't detract from the offerings, more like made it more enjoyable. It's in a small plaza with a parking lot so parking isn't a problem. Food taste delicious but we did have to wait awhile for it and service was good. The staff is very funny and friendly. I got take out with pork and seafood dumplings. Some of the soup was lost but the flavor was delicious. The spicy tendon was too salty, didn't finish it. The beef noodle soup was good. While not terrible, the food was far off compared to better, more authentic Shanghai style food I've had elsewhere. I'd give it 2.5 stars if that were an option. A major red flag was when we ordered food, and my family member asked the waitor what they recommend. They said they didn't know, which reads to me as "I don't eat the food here." And for some reason, they didn't provide chopsticks up front. We had to ask for it, which is strange. For appetizers we had the pork soup dumplings (no pic taken) and what I believe were the pan-fried pork buns (not sure the direct English term). We were not provided spoons either. Usually you would use spoons to catch the soup that comes out from the soup dumpling, i.e. when you poke a small hole in the dumpling. They gave us these somewhat big sauce cups instead. Another strange thing was the black vinegar sauce that goes with pork soup dumplings was just sitting in a sauce container at the side of the table. A more authentic experience would give you the sauce with a few slices of ginger on small sauce dishes. Not just leave sauce to sit on the table side. The pork soup dumplings lacked in flavor. They had no taste of ginger and they were not piping hot. Pork soup dumplings should have ginger in the meat filling and should be piping hot. Instead they were somewhere hotter than warm. The pan-fried pork buns are smaller than I've had elsewhere, and were a bit burned on the bottom. The meat filling, like the pork soup dumplings, lacked in flavor depth. Main dishes included the Shanghai Style Ribs and Spicy Crispy Shrimp. The ribs were ok, though they tasted like you could create the same thing at home. The spicy crispy shrimp were pretty good, though people with low spicy food tolerance may want to avoid. Shrimp were kinda on the smaller side though. There is a Horsham, PA location which I assumed opened first before this branch location. But based on this experience, I don't expect anything better there, unfortunately. read more

Dim Sun Factory is another of the local chain of Shanghainese small plate restaurants in the greater Philadelphia area. This one is in the Bustleton part of the city just off Grant Avenue & Krewstown Pike. The dining room is attractive in gray brick and Chinese wall art, while the menu is not the traditional dim sum with all small dishes toted in carts pushed by old ladies, rather everything is ordered from the menu which is both dim sum and regular full plated offerings. We ordered the following: 1. XLB Soup Dumplings, 2. Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, 3. Double Cooked Pork, 4. Cucumber Salad and 5. Fried Pork Chops. Everything was from fairly decent to quite good, with highest grades for the XLB, Double Cooked Pork and Cucumber Salad, and somewhat lesser impression of the Crystal Dumplings and the Pork Chop bring up the rear. The problem there was that it wasn't a pork chop at all, but instead more like Japanese Katsu - breaded/deep fried filet of lesser quality than anticipated. Part of it just couldn't be eaten due to over frying to a dark burn and some cartilage hidden within. Service was fine, although someone needs to remind them that this is Philadelphia, not New York, and wearing Yankee caps during the World Series in 2022 is just not appropriate right now before the 6th game with the Fightin's down 3-2 to the Astros. I've never left a review on Yelp for a delivery order I placed through another app, but this was just too good not too. I was immediately impressed by the packaging the food was delivered in. A thick, insulated bad with the restaurants name and logo all over it, with the items carefully packaged inside ?! I mean, come on! Beautiful. And the dim sum is phenomenal. Finally made it to the dim sum Krewstown location. We tried to go another time when it first opened and it was closed. This time they were open and it was not that busy so we were able to get a seat. The place is really clean and the food was pretty solid. I was pleasantly surprised on how fast the food came out. We got some beef noodles, walnut shrimp, seafood udon soup, beef skewers, and pork dumpling soup. Everything was hot fresh and delicious! I'm so glad this place is so close by, my son loves the beef and noodles and he is usually a picky-eater. First time ordering from here. Was very impressed by the take out, insulated bags with a Velcro closure was a nice touch. Started with crab rangoon which was average tasting and had no dipping sauce. Entree was the chicken with garlic sauce and white rice. The sauce from the chicken was overly sweet but the chicken was tender and tasted good. Have had much better food from Dim Sum Factory Horsham. Ordered Kung Pao chicken it was extremely mild/bland and had water chestnuts in it. No spices at all. Then there was the cucumber appetizer which I thought were the spicy one I've had before at Horsham, it was gross, no spice at all and had too much xiao xing wine and sugar. The cucumbers weren't even chopped up like it was so hastily and incorrectly made by someone who definitely did not give sh*t. First impressions mean a lot. My girlfriend and daughter and I were looking forward to a nice dinner. This would be a one star review, save for the nice decor, along with the food basically being enjoyed. We ordered appetizers along with entrees. The first item to come out was my gf's entree... After 15 mins, I tried to get Mathew's attention, to no avail. I had to get up and find the waitress. At this point, I was pretty upset. I found her and asked, "Can we get our rice?" She looked at me with a befuddled face and said, "Yes", but appeared to be put off/bothered. Jeez! Sorry to disturb you! The service was a disaster! We should have been offered an item or two to be removed from the bill. The bill comes. I hand the receipt with my check card to Matthew. In a few mins, he brings it back sans my check card. I head up to the counter and ask for my card. He obviously forgot to bring it back. I then proceeded to tell him(although he was there for most of the fun!)about our lovely experience. Yesterday I went on a blind date in Philadelphia and took her here for dinner. This place didn't have many main course dishes but like the restaurant's name had so much Dim Sum. Before coming here I thought there was only pork Shu Mai but they had so many different Shu Mai that I was shocked and impressed.
