Oaxacan Old Fashioned and El Mundo
    Ian E.

I stopped here for cocktails before a Saturday dinner reservation at a nearby restaurant. It's a cool place. I can tell a lot of thought went into the setup and a lot of thought goes into the menu. I ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned. The cocktail on its own was good, but it was served with piece of dark chocolate that paired well and balanced the flavor of the OF. I hadn't seen that, so it made for a fun experience. There's plenty of room at the standing tables, so a reservation isn't really necessary. I didn't mind standing at all. The service was solid.

Jade Jaguar has impeccable vibes-- the space is gorgeous, the menu perfectly curated, the service attentive. I came pretty early on a weekday so it wasn't super full but I still had a great time perusing their cocktail menu and appreciating the decor. We tried the Jade Jaguar (of course) and El Mundo-- both super delicious cocktails with a kick of flavors. We also tried the Sonoran smash burger and queso fundido which were SO good. I ended the night with La Estrella because how can I say no to a cocktail topped with sorbet! Overall, a really great experience, and such a great addition to the crossroads!

Get the El Chango. I loved it! We tried a variety of cocktails (I sipped my friend's drinks. I just had the el chango all night. It was amazing!). They made us a passion fruit shot and it was so tasty! Service was awesome. This place is so dang cute. Definitely go. I will be back.

The Jade Jaguar is such a great spot. The bar and drinks alone makes it worth the visit, and I love how much they leaned into theme in a way that feels upscale and actually authentic. Every drink we tried was good, but the Jade Jaguar cocktail was my favorite. For food, the smash burger was our favorite, with the quesadillas a close second. Definitely a place I'll be back to just to sit at the bar and try more drinks. Enjoyable for a date night, happy hour or more.

Came to Jade Jaguar for halloween night and I seriously loved this place! I tried a couple drinks and they were SO GOOD! Did i also mention the cocktail menu is lotería themed?! Iconic. In terms of the drinks, The "Jade Jaguar" is strong but had a good flavor, it's semi sweet since it had melon in it but would classify it more bold, my favorites would have to be "la pera" which is actually made with tepache (a fermented pineapple drink, traditional drink) and it was sweet, fruity but still strong in flavor, and top favorite would have to be "el mundo", it was sweet, and had vodka, mango, and honey, it's 100% my top pick! I have yet to try their coffee based drinks but 100% be back because i've heard so many great things about it! In terms of the staff, everyone was attentive, fast, and made sure we were taken care of! The bartenders did a great job as well on the drinks! The music was also spot on, all in all i would definitely recommend this place!

I feel like the switch to Jade Jaguar was a good decision. The ambiance feels much more elevated and more inline with the mercury room. Beautifully designed space and menus. Drinks were great, apps were delicious and service was amazing as well. Great stop before our dinner around the corner.

Had such a great time! This was my 1st visit. I will definitely return. My family also enjoyed their time as well! The bartenders were great and very accommodating!

This place is giving Tulum vibes which I love as it brings about vacation vibes all year round. The music, small bites, friendly staff and cocktails are all a nice addition. The only thing I would recommend is having a reservation to avoid waiting.

A hot new spot has opened in the crossroads. Jade Jaguar is such a vibe! The Latin music, bold flavors, low lights and lush plants make this a must visit! My tuna tostada was fresh, had just the right kick and was filling and light. Our table enjoyed the bar nuts, chips and quac and a smash burger too. The bartenders were hailed as the best in KC by my friend who is always out on the town. Make sure to check out their socials as they host great DJs and even Latin dancing.

I absolutely LOVED it here!! We didn't have a reservation, but wanted to check it out so we just stood around the bar area and it was fine! The La Pera drink was soooo delicious & balanced 11/10. The vibe was fantastic and the workers were so nice and attentative. This replaced bar medici underneath the mercury room. I never went to bar medici but the vibe here is so much cozier and fun!

Holy...OMG. Come here, come here, come here…read more By some spark of light and luck we start the Valentines Day evening here. Drinks we got: - No Fly Zone - Off the Rails - Mr. Collage - Mescal Espresso Martini I got a cocktail caviar bump which - YES! Appetizer burritos complimented everything. We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to sneak us in, and I couldn't be happier!! You must come here.

I've driven past the Fern Bar countless times, but had never stopped in. Truthfully, I knew next to…read morenothing about it. That changed yesterday, when Diana Condori, the bar manager, was named a 2026 James Beard Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service semifinalist. As we love supporting restaurants and bars that receive that kind of recognition, my wife and I headed to Fern Bar that evening. I was especially curious what exactly a "sugarcane and agave bar" meant. We arrived around 5:30pm and found only a handful of guests inside. After congratulating the bartender who first served us, he mentioned that Diana was working that night and would stop by to meet us. During our conversation, Diana shared that she didn't even know she had been nominated. She woke up Tuesday to a call from owner Bryan Arri, who said he had big news and was coming over. Her first thought was that something terrible had happened--like the bar had burned down. Instead, he showed up with coffee and told her she was a James Beard honoree. Diana is originally from Bolivia and has lived in Kansas City most of her life, with the exception of time spent in San Francisco during the pandemic. She further refined her cocktail craft through local pop-ups in Kansas City under the name Condor's Cove. When Bryan was preparing to open Fern Bar, he reached out to bring her onto the team. The printed cocktail menu immediately reminded me of the Monarch and the Mercury Room--not surprising given Bryan's background at Manifesto and the Monarch. Thoughtful, intentional, and clearly designed for people who appreciate serious cocktails. We planned on having one or two drinks but ended up staying for three, thanks to an outstanding lineup and a memorable conversation with Diana. We tasted: * No Fly Zone - Rum, agave, pineapple foam * Mr. Collage - Smooth, elegant, egg-white cocktail * Three Negroni Lunch - Bitter, boozy, and beautifully balanced * Pendergast No. 4 - Complex and spirit-driven * It's Bananas - Banana liqueur with bright tropical notes * Off the Rails - Creative and well-executed rum/agave cocktail One downside of many cocktail-forward bars is the lack of food, but Fern Bar offers two varieties of mini burritos for $4--just enough protein to keep things balanced while indulging. Great concept, exceptional service, and truly memorable drinks. Check it out--and be sure to say hello to Diana.

The former Mockingbird (aka The View for us "old-timers") has been reimagined into one of the highest quality tiki bars I have ever experienced. Roxy was delighful and crafted fabulous drinks and stories. The seasonal menu changes every few months and current highlights include the "Better to Sea You With" and "Chai and Mighty". The "Zombie " was potent and "Morning Wench" with rum creme, spiced rum, black coffee liquor and cinnamon is the BEST "espresso" without espresso martini I have ever had! I'd say no, but don't let that stop you. I like it better here than Kon Tiki and while I'm still really sad over the loss of Tiki Cat (RIP you unicorn gem of a bar), The Blue Palm is divine it's own unique way. I stopped in here for a springtime patio meet up with friends and was not let down. The cocktails are some of the best tiki inspired drinks in town, and they have a great happy hour to boot. It was the perfect night to sit by the windows and watch the clouds roll in as a thunderstorm approached. The service was excellent. Our server, Jenna, was friendly, attentive, and quick throughout the entire meal, making the experience even better. The food was delicious. We ordered the lobster roll, Braised & Blue pizza, meatballs, oysters with caviar, and the chicken and shrimp yakitori. We also had a couple cocktails- Spicy Paloma and Pineapple Express made with reposado. Everything was flavorful and well prepared, but the lobster roll was definitely my favorite of the night. Between the stunning rooftop views, great atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food, Prime Social made for a perfect evening in Kansas City. I would absolutely come back and highly recommend it for a date night, special occasion, or simply enjoying the city skyline with friends.

We ordered Old Fashioned which was what you would expect. The Suburban Sunset was different and good but a bit syrupy. I finished with the espresso martini which was very good and very strong. For food we had oysters on the half shell that were fresh and hit the spot. Next Yard Bird which is chicken meat balls. The flavor is good but they are mushy. Probably won't get them again. The chicken, steak and shrimp sticks were ok. The chicken had a rubbery texture. The star of the night was the fried lobster bites. Very good. Chicken and beef sliders were good but again the chicken was rubbery. The fries were also very good. The flat iron steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. To me it reminds me of lamb chops which I love. We finished with the 24 carrot truffle which was nice but not great. Overall we had a good time at Prime Social and would come back.
