I asked for an exception in the minimum $25 purchase for delivery my home is literally a 2 minute drive for them. My purchase would have been around $17. She twice said no. I always like a Chinese restaurant with lots of vegetables. They have lots of lunch items, meat of choice, rice, spring roll and soup. I had a spicy chicken meal, my husband had a prawn dish. I was so disappointed in their food! I had previously eaten there several years ago and I remembered how delicious the food was but this time unfortunately the egg foo young and the pork fried rice was so bland! I ended up using soy sauce and salt to add some flavor to the food. Even the egg roll was a bland texture even though the outside was crispy the inside was without any flavor. This was a takeout order and I will admit that the young lady at the front was very pleasant and the food only took less than 30 minutes to get ready. My friend that ordered chicken lo Mein said that she had to add Accent flavor enhancing and soy sauce to the food. She said it wasn't terrible but that it was definitely better a few years ago compared to now. She hasn't tried the beef and broccoli yet but is hoping that it will be better than the Lo Mein. All in all it's not the worst Chinese food I've had but still disappointing! I must admit that as far as value is concerned you get plenty of food for the price. read more

Jade Palace has been my number one choice for Chinese cuisine here in the Melbourne area. Before Covid hit I'd bring friends and family and order from their dim sum menu. I recommend their soup dumplings or fried shrimp dumplings, or fried taro... Try everything (except beef honeycomb ) and if you're there around lunch time, their beef or shrimp chang feng! Because of Covid, they've removed their dim sum menu for the time being... Doesn't mean they still whip up great food! I recommend trying the peking pork or beef chow fun for takeout. The staff has always been great to me and the guests I bring, and I hope things return to normal soon! read more

Consistent excellent service even while dealing with COVID. Food is excellent quality. My favorites are Orange Beef (so tender yet crispy), the sesame chicken is out of this world (must dine in for proper texture), and the Mongolian Beef is really awesome too. Hot and sour soup is some of the best around. The one item that is not to my liking is the fried rice. I have been dining here for over a year now and typically dine at least once a week. read more

It took me a while to find this restaurant but I am glad I did. This is the only place I can get dim sum for lunch or dinner. We had the pork buns, Shanghai dumplings, shu Mai, lotus leaf rice and spicy lo main. All were very good. I am bummed that I waited so long to try it. Super excited we finally have a local all day dim sum, use to drive to Orlando for it. You have to request the dim sum menu. Waitress are friendly. Decor is oriental feel. Very busy place, lots of Asian customers is a good sign too. All the food we ordered was tasty. They should change their vegetarian title to vegetable cuz it has meat in it. I thought that the food was amazing- ordered wonton soup and also sweet-and-sour soup - both amazing. Chicken with garlic sauce medium and also the Singapore noodles medium spicy were amazing. This place deserves more stars than just three. We are from out of town and used to very excellent Chinese restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area. Would come back again in a heartbeat. New Menu, Dim Sum (possibly new management?) They also have a traditional Chinese Menu as well, you may have to ask for it. Finally a Chinese Restaurant that has multiple flavors. Most other chinese places around here seem to only have 4 sauces brown, white, sweet, and a sticky red jello colored sauce. Not this place! The food was really good, I'd say the best Chinese food in the Melbourne area. There are so many chinese take out and buffet places that it's nice to have a sit down menu establishment. Each dish had it's own flavor and the quality and freshness of the ingredients shows, in both presentation and flavor. It's not NY or Chicago Chinatown food, but for Melbourne it's about the best your going to get, and you won't be disappointed. I'm a picky eater... Jade Palace has my attention. Today I got whole fried snapper, Cantonese Duck and Bok Choy in Garlic Sauce... My sister and I ate until we couldn't move. We heard of this restaurant through my wife's Chinese network and decided to take the drive and check it out for a late lunch. Especially pleased that they served dim sum as we normally drive to Orlando for that type of service. The food, service, and staff were excellent, especially talking in Cantonese with my wife. Found this restaurant & happy we did. The service is great, the people friendly & you get plenty to eat. The food is excellent. Loved my bourbon chicken, my wife loved her chicken & broccoli, & we both loved the spring rolls. We haven't dined in yet but we do plenty of phone-in ordering & when they tell you when it's ready for pick-up, they are very punctual. First and last visit. Moving into area and decided to get lemon chicken with fried rice. I have eaten a lot of Chinese food but this was horrible, how they can charge for what they dished up is beyond me. The lightly which it was not was greasy the chicken was virtually non existent the fried rice was boiled rice with some orange coloring and the sauce was orange not lemon. place looked great but if that is the quality of the food I cannot recommend it to anyone. if this review saves someone the grief and money it will be worth it, they don't deserve any loyal custoners. read more

I liked the food and the staff was extremely friendly. Extremely. I thought the flavors on the General Tso's Chicken were really quite good. I asked for it spicy and it was prepared appropriately. Unfortunately, by the time I was eating my to-go order, the breaded exterior of the chicken had become soft and was falling away from the meat. So the texture was not what I would want it to be. Let me begin with, born & raised in NY, so yes...I know GREAT Chinese. What I don't understand is WHY is it so impossible to replicate? I am here now for the first time. 4:30pm. It's got to be 80° in here. No combination plates available for dinner. I ordered fried pork dumplings (if you want ANY flavor, u must dip in the sauce, which I'm not a fan of), pork egg roll (do not waste your time, it's horrible, stuffing is flavorless & crust has a foul flavor, maybe oil needs changing), pork fried rice side dish (beautiful w lots of pork, egg, bean sprouts, onion & green onions) BUT again FLAVORLESS. Resulting in disappointment. So my hunt continues. And before someone tells me "it's the water", the water would only make a slight variation in the flavor. ITS NOT THE WATER, there's a definite lack of Chinese seasoning knowledge. 2 stars for service, apparent cleanliness (see health reports), & decor. PS. So weird to read the bad reviews about this place. They must be doing something right to have been in business these past 29 years. The interior is a bit dated, probably hasn't been updated since they opened in 1984, but it is clean. I've only eaten here for lunch, and there are always 5-8 people here as well. The staff is efficient, and they are very friendly if you engage them. I enjoy the fact that they are no-nonsense and realize that I have a time limit for lunch. While some of the dishes can taste very similar, they have no trouble substituting items if so desired, or making things extra hot and spicy. I enjoy the fact they have a full bar, even though I've not had a drink there. Back in the 50's and 60's every Chinese restaurant had a full bar, now it's only these guys and Red Ginger. read more

I first tried it on the recommendation of a regular a couple of years ago and now I go to dinner there at least twice a month. The food is always excellent and plentiful. There is food... plenty of it... but it is tasteless. Could have ordered any of their 50 plus dishes and they would all taste the same... without salt and flavor. One day when I turn 80, after my colectomy and can no longer eat any food with spice, favoring, I may return to Jade Palace. read more
