Love love love this place. Went on a Wednesday night and decided to dine in, place wasn't busy but carry out was. The place is always super clean and nice looking. Staff is always friendly. I was referred to come here for their lo mein so happy I do. Got the sesame chicken this time and was cooked to perfect even reheated it the next day and still was so good. The crab ragoons were exceptional only downside is they don't have a sauce to go with it ( I like sweet chili sauce). Will definitely be back. Only thing I will comment on is you only get one bowl of rice which is fine because you get so much meat. read more

I was so disappointed because I heard good things about the food from a friend. The crab Rangoon was over fried. The moo goo gai pan was flavorless and some of the chicken was underdone. Much of the food leaked out of the containers it was packed in leaving a huge mess. The portions were huge but I would have preferred more flavor in the food. This was a very solid choice for the Americanized Chinese i grew up with. They had a tasty Eggdrop Soup that I found flavorful. The Eggroll was good too. I liked the Press Duck, which was very crispy. It could have used more sauce though. My husband's Almond Boneless Chicken was just ok. It was pretty bland, and had a strange sauce. This was our favorite Chinese restaurant for many years and not just because they were only two miles from home. We were sad when we went there a few years ago and saw a closed sign that indicated permanently with no new address listed. We have since tried other Chinese restaurants but always found something we didn't like such as too salty or sort of a bland taste even if they did some things well. By chance I happened to find out that they had moved to this new location so, of course, we had to go there. We were pleasantly surprised when our server instantly recognized us from the other location. After getting an update on the move we were ready to try some of our old favorites. We started out with the Sizzling Rice Soup and it was excellent as always. We also ordered the pan-fried Dumplings which, although we were told they were no longer made fresh at the restaurant, were still quite good. For our main dish we chose Scallops with Pea Pods and found it to as good as we remembered from the old days. They serve a good quality Green Tea at Jade Tiki. Sometimes it is the little things that tell the most about how good a restaurant is. We will definitely be back to try more of our long-lost favorites anytime we are on that side of town. Many Chinese restaurants seem to use way too much salt and the taste of the underlying ingredients is lost. Jade Tiki's chef seems to have a good handle on how to balance the flavors and not resort to to much salt. While many of our old favorites are still offered on the menu, it was reduced to accomodate the smaller size of the new location. A few of our favorites, like Singapore Noodles, are no longer on the menu, and we would love to see them added back. But if you are looking for really good and tasty Chinese food, look no further. read more

I had to go to the ER after eating here and discovering that they include shrimp+ pork into egg rolls. No where on the menu does it state that there is shrimp in the egg rolls. When I called in to the store I was told that I should have let them know that I have a shell fish allergy and they were "sorry." Although they did offer me a new egg roll if I wanted to drive back in to pick it up. Trashed my whole meal because I can't trust that they aren't commingling food and egg roll touched my entree. Eh. It's ok. It wasn't bad at all. I've had bad Chinese food and this isn't it, however it was on the bland side. The crab rangoons lacked in flavor and so did the sauce. The sweet and sour chicken was perfectly crispy but the sauce was more vinegar than anything else. They sent saltines with egg drop soup instead of the crispy things (I don't know what they are, fried wonton perhaps?) lastly not one fortune cookie with my fairly large order. I've been going to Jade Tiki for many years, well before they moved to Utica. Their hot & sour soup is easily the best in Metro Detroit; the egg rolls are very good; and every entree I've had is also above average in quality and quantity. For example, the Jade Tiki Lo Mein is full of chicken, shrimp, roast pork, and scallops. Service is excellent--every time I go in, the waitress remembers me. A very good dining experience! read more

I was a long time fan of the Chinese food at Wing Lung, which was the name of this place before Jade Tiki bought it. Since Jade Tiki moved in, the food has become sub par compared to before. My go-to order is the ABC, and the chicken is always rubbery and hard to cut/chew. The breading frequently feels mushy in between the chicken and the outer crispy later. I'll give 2 stars since the service is great, the soup is good, and the price is right. But since I've given them probably 10 chances on this meal and it hasn't improved, I'll be going elsewhere in the future. read more

If I could, I would give them 0 stars. This is the second or third time I've gotten food from them after recipe changes were made in the past. We order two very simple sweet and sour combination plates to split between 4 people as we don't eat a ton. Everytime I have gotten food from this establishment the food has been terrible, at least over the past 3 years. 9 years ago my wife and i started to frequent this restaurant, somewhere over the past 3 years the quality went downhill, when i called to complain all thet i was told was that was how sweet and sour chicken tastes. No it tasted, old, the chicken was tough, and the sauce smelled like straight up vinegar. Not like sweet and sour. Got food delivered through Door Dash. The crab Rangoon was the best I have ever had...stuffed with crab! The sweet and sour sauce tasted homemade and was heavy on the vinegar which I love. The egg rolls were a little over cooked so just meh, but the Shrimp Fried Rice, Beef and Pea Pods, and General Chicken were excellent and the portions huge. The Jade Tiki has been around for many decades. The original restaurant was in Bloomfield. This incarnation offers the same great food at reasonable prices. The are no better egg rolls in Michigan. The wonton soup is delicious too. The signature dish for me is their almond chicken. It is fresh and made to order. I have been a patron for years and have tried many of their dish. Everything was very very clean, the service was unbelievably polite (almost too polite...), and the portions were huge. They played 94.7 classic rock the whole time which was made for a very enjoyable eatting enviroment. Everyone mentioned how good the spring rolls were (which they were) but the crab Rangoon really stood out very big and full of crab. First time eating at this restaurant. Food was delicious, service was quick and pleasant. Not sure what the negative reviews come from. The lady who served us was polite, attentive, and very pleasant. We had the dinner for 3 expecting small portions that my 2 daughters, my wife, and I would share. The food they brought out could have fed 6 people well and was delicious, the price was what you would expect to pay for a normal 3 person meal. I have got bad food from here for the last time. I ordered broccoli with garlic sauce. I thought it was a pretty standard request. They gave me broccoli in what tasted like beef broth. It was liquid and super salty. Didn't taste like garlic at all. It was GROSS. And expensive. This was not the only bad experience I've had here. You should go somewhere else. Yes, I am a fan. We were very disappointed when the Jade Tiki moved to the new location. The food is the same great food, but no the dining room is much smaller, with no bar service. We now drive the 15 minutes each way for take out service. It is well worth it. The West Lake Duck is akin to "duck meat loaf" and is well worth the trip, alone. The pork fried rice is spectacular! The quantity of food assures that we will always have enough for lunch the next day. The service is quick and with a smile. We have been customers for 25 plus years and still love it. read more
