Best Chinese food in the area! Very flavorful and you get a lot of food for a great price.

I really wanted to love this place, as the reviews were great and we were from out of town at a college bolwing tournament. Older Chinese gentleman cooking and taking orders but I ordered mongolian beef and schezuan chicken and they both had the same veggies and sauce. Mongolian beef shouldn't have celery, broccoli, carrots, etc in it. They did put the rice noodles in a separate container so that was nice the fried rice was good. As my husband and I talked about it, the food was good but just didn't seem to be what we ordered. Not sure if that is always how mongolian beef is made there? read more

I'm not trying to be rude, but I genuinely don't understand how this place has a 4+ rating. My combination dinner was swimming and sauce, almost at the point ofbeing uneditable. I'm pretty sure the Sesame chicken combination dinner is not true Sesame how chicken, but an orange or sweet-and-sour chicken with sesame on top. The pan fried noodles are extremely dry and have zero flavor other than grease. BEST CHINESE EVER! Always my go-to for takeout. He makes it with so much love, and you can tell. The chicken is never dry and he coats the sauce just the way I like it. The food spills out of the box to the point where he has to staple it shut. It does leak though so watch out for that if you want your car's carpeting to stay clean. I have not had any bad experiences whatsoever and have been a loyal customer for 5 years. read more

Prices online and the menu pictured are incorrect. Ordered lunch combo that showed as $7.75 on their website, but when I showed up it was $11.25. Ordered almond boneless chicken and it stank! Chicken was soggy and that was before adding the "sauce" which was the consistency of water. Also the food had a very strange smell, almost like wet dog. The rice was mostly burnt and the egg roll tasted like I bit into a churro. Never had a egg roll that tasted like cinnamon. Another frequent flyer like many others in the reviews and comments, I've been coming here many years west before COVID, now obviously it is ran a little differently. I believe it has just became easier, more efficient, less costly on labor, and they're still booming. You will see a line in the doorway and outside trying to get pickup orders. If you can't pick up, I believe they do DoorDash and Grubhub, but don't quote me. Everything is always great here, just know what you're ordering so you don't order with the wrong words and get a surprise meal and blame them! They're pretty on top of their system! Park and shrimp fried rice is excellent. Always fresh, lots of shrimp. Sweet and sour chicken is fabulous. I get the sauce on the side so the breading stays crisp. Seczhuan chicken is plentiful just be careful if you say medium or hot because it's probably a little spicier than you expect if you don't want alot of heat. My daughter worked here years ago and would occasionally bring home orders that were never picked up. As a good father, I wanted to provide a good home for these dishes. I accepted the responsibility that goes with harboring the unwanted. Burp. This is how I came to love Wing and his modest carry out restaurant! I have never ordered any of the standard lo mein or traditional noodle dishes. I cannot comment on that. However, Wing does provide something I don't see at other restaurants. I have not even seen it on his menu, it's advertised as a special somewhere within the restaurant. "Pan fried noodles". They are very simple, not in any sauce, a nice oil fried noodle with just a hint of sweet. It's only a few dollars and you get a pint serving. It's great for a snack or an additional side to share. Highly recommended. I usually order a chicken dish. Sweet-and-sour or general Tao. Sweet-and-sour pork I have also tried. All three dishes are good, tender and nice crisp breading. I will say that you will not taste much difference between the general tao and the sweet and sour. The general Tao doesn't seem to be traditionally served how you will find at other establishments. It much more resembles sweet-and-sour, you may think you got the wrong dish when you get home. One tip to avoid irritation: When ordering, be specific on exactly what you're looking for. If you want a combination served with fried rice and egg roll, make sure you state those words, otherwise it will come with white rice and you will not receive an egg roll. I have been irritated before, and just chalked it up as a lesson learned. Wing is a hard working, gentle and kind man. He is usually a one-man operation. There is no dining in. If you call during normal operating hours of business and do not get your call answered, wait a few minutes and call back. CASH ONLY BUSINESS last I knew. Order some Wing. Upon entry, the door was dirty and glass hadn't been washed in ages. This is a carry-out only and the counter area was dusty and dirty. This was possibly the first time I've ever thrown away take out. I don't understand how there can be positive reviews. It was disgusting. chicken was undercooked. The chicken we did eat so tasteless. All the food seems to be bland and flavored the same: Burnt cooking oil. The old burnt cooking oil flavor was in everything fried from the rice to the egg rolls. We ended up using the egg drop soup as a food topper for the dog. This is not a joke. I don't like to see businesses suffer but I think it's time to move on from the restaurant industry. This place is the real deal. It certainly has character. It's owned and operated by one guy: Mr. Wong, who does all the cooking. He has a few teenagers working the counter and phone, all of whom are impressively kind and helpful. The store itself is a classic hole in the wall. Tiny, only serves carry out, and only takes cash. One small whiteboard hangs over the counter advertising the same fried rice special for the past year. But all that matters is the food, and it is amazing. Where to even being? I grew up at 21 and Hayes so Wing Wong was a staple in our family's carry out nights. I have been to hundreds of Chinese restaurants and carry-out joints everywhere from Michigan to Chicago to NYC. I now live in San Francisco, which is one of the Foodiest cities in the US. I can HONESTLY whole heartedly tell you that Wing Wong, this dinky little hole in the wall family owned carry out restaurant in Macomb Michigan is by far THE best Chinese food I have ever had. This is by no means The RItz Carlton, It is hot, usually with no air conditioning in the summer. There are maybe two dine in tables available, the decor hasn't changed since the first day I stepped in the door, and i'am almost positive he still does all the math on a calculator and pen and paper. But it's authentic. Mr. Wing has been running this restaurant himself for as long as I have been alive, occasionally helped by family. His food is his own, There are no recipe books, or commercial guidelines. Its real and oh my word is it delicious. I really hope he shares his wonderful cooking styles with some of his kin and this place continues to operate because I definitely look forward to it every time I'm visiting. My personal favorites include the Almond Boneless Chicken, Beef and Mushroom and my all time favorite General Tso's spicy chicken. All dishes come with a huge portion of rice. The Fried rice here is IMMACULATE. Egg Rolls are on point as well. You really don't get food like this anywhere else. The Chicken is not deep friend so it really keeps an authentic unique taste and texture Truly one of a kind. I have been searching for a place to compare and have not even come remotely close. Legit chinese food. Its like a little hole in the wall chinese place which is one of the things i like about it.i was surprised to see that there is only one man running the place! Second thing i like about this place was the flavor and the freshness of the veggies! Everything is on point, not too salty, not too bland, just about right. One of the last surviving businesses in its strip mall, Wing Wong Chinese Food only takes cash and shows off a hand painted sign only visible from one direction of Hayes that simply states "Chinese Food." A whiteboard above the register states "Special: Pan fried noodles. Delicious!" for at least a year now. It sounds like a mess but it's simply a family owned business that is doing well enough. They survive because of the food, which is delicious and always prepared well. I've eaten here many times and had many different dishes, never have I been disappointed in the meal. From Egg Foo Young to Szechuan to General Tso, it's always good. Time estimates for pickup are sometimes off, as there is only one cook and this is a small thriving business. Almost always the sauce of the take out overflows from the containers into the bag... which is terribly annoying but I've learned to appreciate the fact that in order to prevent this they could just give me less food... or I could drive slower. Best Chinese food I've had in a long time, I've been going there now for well over eight years, never had a bad meal, Mr. Wong is very nice, learned most of his skills in China, and here in United States. I'm very picky about Chinese food but never here. I recommend going to this establishment to see for yourself he does have a large menu and many choices. Mediocre Chinese food, impatient staff. Need I say more? Probably not, but I will. Ordered some carry out from here for a small gathering, we called back twice to add a few more items. When we went to pick up, the staff was very rushed. When we inquired about whether all the items were there since we had ordered them I'm separate calls, we were met with the answer "I don't have time to look, you look it's all there!" Lol. Almond boneless chicken was excellent and you get alot of it. I didn't like the sauce that goes with it though. I'm glad it was on the side. The fried rice was excellent with great flavor, bean sprouts and green onions. Egg rolls are also very good, I ate 3 of them, lol. Hubby didn't care for the plum sauce because he said it was a little too vinegary for him but I loved it! The shrimp foo young was full of shrimp and tasted great. Just needed some salt. I liked the gravy that came with it and would have prefered it over the ABC sauce. Next time I order I'll know what to ask for for. I still give it 5 stars even though I didn't care for the ABC sauce because everything else made up for it. We will definitely be back.
