In May Teresa shaved him too close in his anal area and the next day it bothered him so much that he gnawed at it and turned it all bloody. Of course Chris, the owner, took no responsibility. Then in June, 8 days after we picked him up we pulled a cotton ball out of his ear that Teresa left in there! Chris said, "things happen" Nope, negligence happens! These 2 incidents were completely avoidable and when I tried to switch groomers Chris mentioned that her staff would be nervous about grooming him. She said there is now a cloud over my dog!!! She made it sound like I was the problem. Teresa was the problem!!! Negligence was the problem!! Stupidity was the problem!!! As soon as I pull into the parking lot, he's already whining to get out of the car and in to the facility, and he just can't wait to go back in to the play area. (He doesn't even look back at me! Hahaha.) Backing up a bit, I really liked how the staff did an initial assessment of our dog before letting him attend group plays. They assess every new dog, and group them by personality, not size. This is really important, as dog behavior is based on attitude and personality, not size. So we can feel confident our dog is grouped only with dogs that will play in similar ways, and be safe. The facility is quite large, having three separate group play areas. Every group play area that allows outside access (weather permitting). And as the weather warms up, they even turn on the splash pads for dogs who like to play in the water. Wags also offers grooming, boarding, and training. We are planning to put our dog in to the training now that he is very comfortable being at Wags. And eventually, suspect we'll need to use the overnight boarding. The staff are all wonderful and love dogs. I feel very comfortable leaving my dog in their care.

The metal bathing tubs flexed which caused my dog to move around. The metal tub wasn't really large enough for his 75 lbs. Worse, the water wasn't a constant warm as it should be. There were two spigots, one for cold and hot. I ignored the cold one but the hot one wouldn't stay warm. It kept going cold. I cut short the bath and just rinsed him. Another person bathing her dog next to mine had the same issues. I will not return here.

I'm still hoping to better understand: -Where the matting was on both dogs and how severe it was -Why such a short shave was chosen without checking first -And to request that I be contacted before any future decisions like that or a sanitary shave I had my two dogs groomed here on March 26 and had a mixed experience, but what's most disappointing is the lack of communication afterward. To start, I understand that my Great Pyrenees had some matting since she's newly adopted, and I do appreciate that the groomer took care of her. However, I was surprised at how short she was shaved and would have really appreciated a call before making that decision. For my Husky, I was told he had "severe matting," which was confusing since he's been consistently groomed for years and has never had that issue. His coat also didn't appear heavily impacted afterward, so I was hoping for clarification on where and how severe the matting was. Additionally, a sanitary shave was done without checking with me first, which I would have preferred to approve beforehand. What's most frustrating is that the owner specifically told me to reach out if anything seemed off and that they would follow up. I sent a detailed message the day after the appointment and a polite follow-up a few days later, and I have yet to receive any response. I value communication and transparency, especially when it comes to decisions about my pets' care. Unfortunately, the lack of response has left me feeling unheard and hesitant to return. I would have preferred to resolve this directly, which is why I messaged twice before posting. I'd still appreciate that clarification.

We take our Boxer Booker to Always Unleashed for daycare and for boarding. He loves it there! He…read moregets so excited when we pull in and can't wait to run out to the yard and play. We can hardly get his leash off, he's so eager to see friends. We love the live cameras in the yard and inside the hound lounge. It's so nice to be able to check on our fur baby and see what he is up to! One of the main reasons we love Always Unleashed is not only the live cameras, but they are "always unleashed!" They don't kennel the dogs. They all hang out together outside and inside. All the dogs seem calm because they don't have the pent up anxiety of being in a kennel outside of their home. They aren't barking all the time and agitated. They are hanging together as a group. The outside has a ton of misters and a large pool for the pups. They have lots of room to play. Our dog Booker has made friends with other dogs and it's so fun to see him playing and happy. He was boarded over his birthday this past year and they gave him special treats and extra attention. They sent us pictures and videos. They are currently under renovation, redoing the front office check-in space. It will be nice when it's all completed, but it's been nice they have stayed open during the renovation. This summer our flight was delayed flying home from Chicago and Shea was great letting us pick up Booker a little later. We didn't want to wait another day to see our baby! Another time we were stuck on the 17 in traffic because of an accident coming home from Flagstaff. They understand how important our fur baby is to us! Another time Booker got a hot spot on his paw and they were on the phone with me about it and how I wanted it treated. Then after he was home Shea followed up with me to see how he was doing. Booker always comes home happy and tired. Always Unleashed is a great place for day care or boarding, highly recommend.
