All the technicians I have visited have done excellent work! They don't mind if I curl up in the massage chair with my book while they expertly do my pedicure! The place is scrupulously clean, doesn't smell like a nail salon, has music at a reasonable volume, and is pretty timely, especially if you have an appointment (which is pretty easy to get-just call)! If I could give 10 stars, I would. I have been going to Jae Nail Bar since I moved to Nashville almost 5 years ago. Holly is my nail tech and she is THE BEST. The nail salon is in a convenient spot with plenty of parking. The inside is clean and welcoming. The pedicure chairs are brand new and I love to just sit in them and get a full body (including hands/arms) massage. I sip on a beverage and just relax. I always get a dip manicure and I have never been disappointed. Holly is efficient, detailed and always does a perfect job. I have recommended her to my friends and now they get their nails done with dip and designs which Holly is trained to do. Since I have been seeing Holly for years, she knows what I like and what I would not like. When it comes to polish colors, she knows right away if a color that I choose will be one that I will regret or love. She is friendly, polite and always provides the best service. I read some of the other reviews and I have to disagree with the negative reviews. Everyone at Jae Nail Bar has always been very friendly and polite. I have witnessed some of the rude behavior and treatment customers have dished out on some of the nail techs and was appalled at how badly behaved people can treat those who work in the service industry. And they did it again! I got the super deluxe pedicure this time and a dip manicure. Dip manicure was done by Angie. She did my nails last. She's always so polite and nice and fast but the quality is excellent. I think the paraffin didn't dry or wasn't wiped off... so my polish came off my toes. Nonetheless my feet are always in shoes so I can live with ruined toe polish.... I was being up-saled at every corner though, picked out my color, she asked if I wanted French. Asked me about an eyebrow wax. Asked if I wanted gel. Said I have a lot of hair on my mustache . I wax myself at home so I didn't want to do any of that, I let her do my eyebrows tho. Giving 4 stars and not 5 because they tried to over charge me for my nails. Online pricing says one price but then tried to charge me $11 over that. When I asked why there was conflicting pricing, didn't really get an answer. To add, I did not get anything added or special to my nails to warrant the additional cost. I've been getting my nails done here since I moved to Nashville 8 months ago. They consistently do a great job. I get the gel builder, which is much lower maintenance than acrylic and lasts way longer than regular gel or dip (I have oily nail beds and a job that is very tough on my hands). They give really great, long massages during pedicures. I cannot recommend this place enough! read more

VERY forgettable pedicure. I chose the Jae pedicure and it was such a waste of money (62)! My tech didn't even ask if I wanted something to drink. She rushed me into the chair and didn't allow me to finish looking at the gel colors, completely skimped on the foot scrubbing, cut my big toe too short and now it hurts, the massage literally felt like she was jerking my foot off, there was ZERO pressure which was extremely frustrating when I look over to see what the other techs were doing. They do the best job polishing and being incredibly meticulous with shaping my natural nails. The gentleman owner does a good job with nails. The female owner does pretty descent tho my daughters and my nails did some bad lifting when she did our nails. The others that do pedicures are ok. Some better than others as is probably anywhere. My husband has very smooth feet and a grater was used which the lady got carried away with and cut my husband's feet. The gentleman that did mine used a pumice hard sponge on mine which was useless. You would think they would be more observant on which tool to use.Only once did I get a young girl, that did my pedicure good and helped me with my ingrown toenails. If you go here and make an appointment don't be late or no show or the next time you get an uncomfortable appointment. That is after you realize you overslept and totally forgot your appointment and call and apologize or call and tell them your running late. My daughter went in and the nail tech was clearly angry and hateful and shoved her to the back to get the pedicure. She didn't run the water or anything and took a walk in and did her nails. My daughter is 7 months pregnant and has a hard enough time getting around. My appointment was at 2:00. We canceled and went somewhere else. I realize time is money and this was not intentional on our part. I won't go there again. It is too expensive and We are not wasting out time to get a crappy set of nails. HOLY COW THIS PLACE IS GREAT. I was in Nashville for work (I live in LA) and was desperate to get my nails done. A barista with great nails told me about Jae. I'm really bummed out, because I did genuinely like this spot. Less than a week ago, I went to get gel polish on my fingers like I had done several times before. I got a light pink color and in less than a week the polish turned whiteish yellow and was chipping. The woman I spoke to on the phone told me to come in and show her - which I did. Absolute worst manicure + pedicure I have ever gotten. The polish is uneven, chunky, full of bubbles and didn't even last 4 days. They were terribly rude when we pointed out defects. Didn't want to redo nails that had HAIR stuck in them. Acted like it was a huge inconvenience when we requested a new nail tech for mom when the first one kept cutting her cuticles and nails back so short and then she tried to leave her old gel polish on and just paint over it. I have always gone to this place and had many great things, but today was awful. The owner brought his kids in and as I was getting up to wash my hands the girl said "YOU ARE FAT." Went in last week to get dip powder done. Technician was nice and friendly and my nails looked good. Three days later they were already starting to crack and peel off. I went back to the salon and showed them my nails and the technician said it should have lasted three weeks and that they would fix them for me. Great, right? Then when I was finished the manager rang me up for full price. Even though the technician said they'd fix them and admitted that they were too thin the first time around. When I mentioned that he said they make no guarantees that the powder will last (even though the tech did and so does the powder company). He did offer me a $5 off coupon, but I was under the impression that they were making good and fixing them, not that I was just getting a new manicure. read more
