BEWARE!! If you are in an accident in the Newark, OH area, DO NOT call Jae's Towing. They charged my daughter $575 to tow her car approximately 10 miles. Literally highway robbery. I looked it up and the national average of roughly $109 to $125 for local, short-distance tows. Prices often include a $75-$150 hook-up fee plus $2-$7 per mile, with higher rates for, night/weekend service. read more

The work was fast and professional, and when our tire couldn't be changed, they towed us to a nearby shop. The driver made room for two of us to ride along in the cab, which we really appreciated. My brakes went while I was out of state. I called AAA. JAES Towing & Recovery came and towed my car back to their place. A mechanic named Derrick was able to look at it and repair it the same day. He called around to several places trying to see if he could get the needed parts that day. He finally found one place that had them and had one of their wreckers drop them off. He was able to get us back on the road in 4 hours. He showed us everything that was wrong and what was needed and I fix it. Everyone we encountered was friendly and super helpful. Derrick really went out of his way to get us back on the road that same day. I can't say enough good things about the service we received. read more

We had an accident and it was called in by the driver to Jae's towing and told car on its side. The police call them as well "car on its side" they showed up in the biggest flatbed and we were told 155 and so was the police. The goes to hand us house keys and we were like no we are paying in cash. So he gets in his truck and 15 mins later he said 400 what? Then he says noone told us it was on its side. Not true. He also said. They towed it 3 blocks and it was only one. This completely overcharging and I would never recommend them to anyone. Rip off read more

Do not use this place they're unethical and don't know what they're doing. I called up to get my semi truck jumpstarted I'm a mile away from their place. He tells me 50 bucks I tell him it's a Peterbilt, he called me back two minutes later oh I didn't know that was a semi truck it's 150+ surcharge plus plus, OK I'm sure of stock so what do I do I'll be there in 15 minutes, not a minute later he calls me back your whole yeah this is weekend rates plus after hours so now it's 250+ surcharge plus surcharge plus surcharge. I said that's fine you didn't know where the fucking Peterbilt was I don't want you touching my truck anyways . They don't know the difference between a truck and a semi truck by the manufacturer name Peterbilt do you want them touching your vehicle? read more

They are very good at what they do. The reason for 3 stars is because I kept their daughter out of legal trouble. Both owners told me if I didn't pursue legal action towards their daughter, they would do ANYTHING for me. If I "EVER needed ANYTHING to let them know and they'd help me out." Well, I had to be towed a few months ago, I paid for it then asked the wife if she wanted to "help me as she promised" - To no avail. I am SURE the money I saved them in legal fees and trouble surpasses the cost of a tow. It's all about integrity, never forgetting when others help you and keeping one's word. read more

When you get AAA assistance and a tow truck that looks like a PIXAR truck, any young child or young at heart would love to have a replica of to admire! Like the holy grail of tow trucks I ever seen! Last Sunday I found myself stranded in a parking lot with a dead battery. I called AAA to get assistance and was referred to Jae's Towing for the help I needed. The estimated wait was accurate and when Rick arrived he was very understanding and helpful. He tested the battery and offered a new one that he could install on the spot. On our way home from Thanksgiving at the cousins', my daughter's car broke down on I-70 outside of Hebron and the people from Jae's were beyond helpful. The tow truck came quickly and they did a safe, careful job of getting us and the car to their shop. They fixed our car quite well (no further problems on the 350-mile trip home) and charged us a very reasonable price. This company is very professional and quick on the trigger to get out to you and get the job done, no matter how crazy the job may be or how impossible it may seem to get you unstuck or out of a tricky spot. Driver was friendly, prompt and courteous, however the price was a little shocking. $1300 for getting a large truck out of a ditch on residential property. Seems a bit steep for a job that took the better part of 2 hours from start to finish. Even after factoring in the time it took, the miles the driver traveled to reach us, and the tricky spot the truck was stuck in, I don't really know if I agree with the $1300 bill we were presented with. Pleasant experience, helpful service, not so pleasant hit to your wallet if you're not dealing with a simple tow. read more
