It took me awhile to write this post because I truly like Dr. Jamie Curtis as person, but as a dentist not so much. She has honestly been the worst dentist of my life! I feel so guilty for giving her 1 star, but I don't think she deserves more. Throughout the two years I was with her, she only worked on two molars!!! Two crowns back to back on each, making it a total of FOUR crowns!!! Not to mention that I also needed a root canal on each! To better explain myself, I had crown on tooth 30 followed by a root canal, followed by a crown ....and on tooth 31 I had a crown followed by a root canal, followed by a crown. *Disclaimer* the second set of crowns were done at no cost thanks to Dr. Jamie Curtis VOLUNTARILY offering to help fix what SHE did wrong the first time! Moreover, the dental experience was painful! Every single appointment was a bit traumatizing, from getting my heart beat too fast by putting the anesthesia close to a vessel, to almost cutting the sides of my lips by forcing the floss down between my teeth, to cutting the roof of my mouth and edges by inserting a plastic thing to keep your mouth open, to making my gums bleed and making them super sore for days, to fracturing tooth 31! Yes! Now I have a fractured molar that needs to be extracted. Seriously the worst dentist of my life! I ended up worse than how she first saw me. If you're looking for a great dental experience and work, don't go here! If you're looking for great human beings that are genuinely nice, go here! As for me, I prefer good dental work. read more

The only reason for the one star is I was not informed my insurance is out of network. The front desk had my information well in advance as I could not be seen for a few weeks after booking my appointment. Not one time before my appointment did anyone mention my insurance is out of network until I was presented with a $1000 out-of-pocket quote. I proceeded to have my upper right side gums taken care of due to inflammation and only paid for the upper right side $276. I called my insurance company, and they mentioned that's not how much the procedure costs and my out-of-pocket is $190. I called the office for a refund of the remaining they charged me and I was told they charged me $80 for the laser they used, which was not covered by the insurance. I was never asked if they should use this laser on me and that it would not be covered by insurance. I would have said no. I would have said no to the whole appointment if I knew my insurance is out of network. I was already there for over an hour before I was presented with the quote and a total of over two hours for the whole appointment. As wonderful as the doctor and the staff are, I think this place lacks transparency and integrity. It looks like the same thing happened to another person below who shared their experience. I reached out to another dentist with hundreds of 5 stars in Lincoln and they immediately told me my insurance is in network. So I schedule additional procedures with them. read more

We recently moved to Lincoln and we needed to find a new dentist. A trusted neighbor highly recommended Dr Curtis. My first appointment with Dr. Curtis confirmed his high praise and more. The staff and Dr. Curtis were personable, professional, and caring. The condition of my teeth were thoroughly explained to me with the use of high tech equipment that allowed me to see the areas of concern so I could fully participate in setting the priorities of future dental work. I've never been so well informed of the condition of my teeth. It was an educational experience all by itself. read more

I hate writing this review but I need to let people know what happened. I took my three kids to the office for annual check ups, I loved everything about the visits. They confirmed coverage with our insurance prior to our visit. The staff was amazing, Dr Curtis explained everything so well. At certain points, we were offered services and I stated I didn't want to do anything not covered by insurance as I am not working due to COVID. Numerous times they explained everything they were doing was covered by insurance. I again expressed I didn't want to pay out of pocket. We made further appointments for sealants for each child, again we were assured there would be no out of pocket cost. The day of the sealant appointment, we were contacted and told they didn't actually accept our insurance and we owed them $1000 for services at the previous visit. I wouldn't have agreed to all the extra fancy stuff they did if I knew I'd pay extra. I'm so disappointed. read more

My initial visit was fine. The staff was friendly. I to was told that I needed a deep cleaning that was not covered by my insurance. I came to them in pain and they refused to move forward with treatment until I had the cleaning. I went to Smile Island in Roseville where I take my kids for a second opinion. The said "first things first let's get you out of pain". I was never pressured to do anything extra. I would not recommend going to a dentist that puts profits above patients. read more

I love Dr Curtis' office. Her staff is very flexible and accommodating. She works well coordinating my care with the periodontist office. Her staff is very friendly, kind and are always pleasant. Stays up to date with technology -- I love the text reminders of my appt, the custom Pandora station when I am in the chair, the scented masks for nitrous, and her equipment is very patient friendly. I am an existing patient of Dr. Curtis. I'm writing this review for any other existing patients who are scared to return during the COVID crisis or new patients who scared to go to a new dentist. I went yesterday 7/2 for the first teeth cleaning in 3 months. Dr. Curtis' office has always been super clean but I could see the extra steps and precautions they have taken due to COVID. I was the only one in the waiting room, I was temperature checked and screened, hand sanitizer was available, and the exam room was spotless. My hygenist (who I LOVE), explained all of the procedures they have taken right down to explaining her double masking. I felt totally safe. Check out was fast and there is plexyglass installed so that you don't come into direct contact with the reception area. I'm a dental phobic and in the danger group of over 65. I was nervous but I'm not now. My hygenist reminded me that oral health is critical to avoid other illnesses - I don't know if there is a link between oral health and covid but there certainly is with heart disease - so I'm not taking any chances! I'm back on my regular 4 mo check-up and teeth cleaning and I'm sure Dr. Curtis and her staff will keep me safe no matter how long this dreaded pandemic stretches on. read more

My initial appt was fine when it came to the X-rays and check up. My problem was with the billing portion. I have never been treated so horrible in my life. I was being pressured into having the laser treatment and my out of pocket cost was going to be more than I wanted to pay. I did not want the laser treatment and the gal in billing started to belittle me as to what type of dental hygiene regime I have at home. I've never been so offended. She doesn't know me from Adam. Nor does she know what kind of medical condition I have to cause the problems I have. I've never had a dentist office or a dentist talk to me that way. The irony is I don't have a lot of problems other than needing a deep cleaning and that is due to having an autoimmune condition that causes a dry mouth. Needless to say, I'm going back to my old dentist office that was a little out of my way, but they were wonderful. I'd highly question their billing tactics and review all your claims. I do not trust this office one bit! And always get a second opinion if you feel like you don't need the amount of work they are recommending. read more

I moved to Lincoln a few months ago and needed to find a new dentist. A friend had recommended Dr. Curtis so I made my first appointment for a consultation. My experience with having x-rays and meeting Dr. Curtis were very positive. The problems started when I had to talk with the staff up front about having a procedure done involving cleaning. The portion of my cleaning involved laser treatments and were not covered by my insurance. Erinn showed me clearly what my up front costs would be stating that I could opt to not have the laser treatments, but they were afraid that I would be extra sore and might not floss the area that needed the most care. I made an appointment for the cleaning with the intention of talking with my husband about the costs involved. We decided to just have the cleaning done and wait the 6 months to see how my gum area was responding. This is where the 2 star rating come in. After talking with Paige about just having the cleaning done, she told me clearly that I "had" to have the laser treatments. I clearly communicated to her that it was not presented to me as a procedure that "had" to be done, but an option. She continued to repeat herself that "my charts" read that I had to have the procedure done and there were no other options. I let her know that I understood what the charts read, but I had been told something else and I was the patient. Let's just say that my problem was how I was being talked to, not so much about the why's. I have NEVER been treated like that in the 15 years of seeing my previous dentist before I moved to Lincoln. read more

Dr. Curtis and her staff are very courteous, professional and always make you feel welcome and comfortable....I was TERRIFIED to visit the dentist and had put it off for so long that I was dreading to hear how many cavities I had. She took so much time to explain everything to me and was very reassuring. It only took 2 visits to get all my treatment done and now I look forward to going in for my 6 month check ups. read more

Dr. Curtis is the absolute best. If you are looking for a local dentist I can guarantee you that you will be 100% satisfied by her work, her office and her staff. I have known Jaime for years but don't live in the area so haven't been to her office, however I recently sent my mom who does. My mom has an aversion to dentists and has had a number of bad experiences in the past so she was definitely hesitant. My mom is now a lifelong patient. She was so happy with her experience, called me raving about how painless it was and how pleasant Dr. Curtis and her staff was. It was a complete turnaround for my mom regarding dental visits. In addition, Dr. Curtis went above and beyond to keep me in the loop since my mom was nervous about her procedures. I know that she is a very busy woman and felt like it showed her character and care for her patients to take the time to email and call me to review some things.
