Fried rice with extra beef. Delicious!

Great food, great staff and a clean small dining area that you'll love while making new friends.

    Dry chicken - definitely reheated

I ordered a whole rotisserie chicken. I haven't been to this place since I moved to AZ but i came to visit the family and yesterday was disappointing. The chicken was really dry like it was reheated from the day before. The edible thing was the salad and toston

Great food, big portions at reasonable prices! And the waitresses are very courteous and professionals. It is a family restaurant, with a very relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it.

I love the food consistency so every time I come to my Peruvian to go chicken spot. There is no failure on the flavor neither the juicy and tenderness. Greatly recommended and affordable!

Chicken and rice chaufa , duck soup, and homemade chocolates

Alas! I get to try a popular recommended Peruvian restaurant & boy was I not surprised that there was no parking, the inside dining was full and was in line for take-out! It's on a main street which I find can be quite frustrating when desiring parking, especially when hungry. I decided to try their small size shrimp & chicken chaufa, a small duck soup, an alfajore & their special homemade Peruvian chocolates. The generous portion of a small sized chaufa awed me. I was able to take 2 lunches out of that! I was hoping to have large sized devined shrimp and pieces of tender chicken, but instead got small shrimp & mini cubes of what appeared to be on the dry side perhaps because it was from the breast. Besides that & being a bit oily, I still enjoyed the flavor of their chaufa! The duck soup called Pato Especial is surprisingly better than it looks. Unfortunately because of how small a small chinese container is, I got only a small duck portion, veggies and soup. If I were to dine in, this would likely be a main of mine to try. The duck is seasoned in what reminds me of the Chinese style, it's like roasted with that particular flavor & has a toast crunch on the skin. Wow. Along with the soup & veggies, it's just so0o warm & comforting. I really could eat this often. This was definitely my highlight. Alfajore is a never ending love. Their alfajore is an enjoyable portion which I greatly appreciate with a caramel that was soft & creamy! I haven't seen that! Maybe because it was still warm & loved it that way. Lastly was the chocolates, I was explained that they are 2 kinds, one fruits and another with a nut (if I'm not mistaken). It wasn't my favorite because both the milk chocolate & the white chocolate tasted like those easily melted chocolate wafers. I think the concept would be much improved with quality chocolate... Anyhow, overall Jaimito's is a place to dine!

We ordered food for pick up. The service was quick and friendly. All of the orders were correct. Each order comes with rice. The chicken comes with fries and salad. The inside is small but it is a cute restaurant for a quick bite. Parking is a little tough. The shrimp was flavorful. The chicken was also really good especially with their popular green sauce. The steak was well cooked in the lomo salteado.

I always get the pork chaufa with the purple corn juice which is amazing! The rotisserie chicken at this place is great too.

We waited 10 minutes before we were able to get a menu, then another 10 for someone to take our order. The food took over 30 minutes to be served and they don't provide any snacks (Peruvian restaurants usually give you canchita to snack on while you wait); our server was very rude to us, she was the one to "greet us" when we entered and just looked me up and down and walked away, then we were seated and had ordered drinks, she didn't bring my water at all - I had to ask a different server to please bring me water after 15 minutes. We spent around an hour and a half at the restaurant solely because of how long it took to serve us, bring out the food, and get the check. The jalea and ceviche were both okay - not the best but also not the worst I have tried. I asked the ceviche to be spicy and it wasn't, nor was I given rocoto on the side when I asked for it. The jalea only had calamari and fish, when it's supposed to also have octopus, shrimp, etc. I will not be coming back.

FYI: its BYOB.

The restaurant is colorful, lively, and has a great atmosphere without feeling too formal. We started with the Tuna Wantacos. Our server warned us that they were spicy, and he was right -- definitely a little kick, but very flavorful. The white fish ceviche was bright and refreshing, with that tangy, salty leche de tigre that really wakes up your appetite. The Lomo Saltado was hearty and satisfying, but my favorite dish of the night was the Seafood Arroz Chaufa. It came topped with an omelet and had squid, fried shrimp, and plenty of seafood throughout. Really comforting, savory, and filling -- I would absolutely order this again. We also had chicha morada and a passion fruit drink. I've always liked purple corn drinks, so the chicha morada was an easy favorite. We finished with a chocolate dessert, which was a nice ending after such a big meal. Overall, a very enjoyable Peruvian dinner with fun décor, good flavors, and plenty of variety. I'd definitely come back, especially for the seafood fried rice.

We came to Jarana with high expectations. As fans of Peruvian cuisine, we were excited to try a…read morerestaurant associated with such a well-known Peruvian chef. We left with the impression that this is probably the kind of restaurant someone should visit for their very first introduction to Peruvian food--not because it represents the best of Peru, but because it offers a simplified version of its flavors. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It's clear that a significant investment was made in the design, atmosphere, and overall experience. The service was friendly, and we noticed that many of the servers were Colombian, which isn't surprising since Colombians are well known for providing excellent hospitality. However, there were moments when it seemed that some of the traditional Peruvian flavors and drinks weren't fully understood. For example, the Pisco Sour we ordered was much sweeter than it should have been. We decided to start with the jalea, hoping it would set the tone for the meal. Unfortunately, it did the opposite. The dish was overly salty and lacked the balance and excitement that a great Peruvian jalea should have. Instead of reminding us of the vibrant seafood flavors found in Peru, it tasted more like generic fried seafood than an authentic Peruvian recipe. After that dish, we chose not to continue with the rest of the menu. To make matters worse, both of us experienced stomach pain afterward, which confirmed our decision to leave. One thing that also caught my attention is the restaurant's description of its food as "approachable Peruvian cuisine." Making Peruvian food approachable should never mean lowering the quality or authenticity of its flavors. Simplicity and accessibility can absolutely coexist with exceptional taste. The beautiful atmosphere should be matched by food that delivers the same level of excellence. Considering the premium prices, the culinary experience simply didn't justify the cost. If someone has never tried Peruvian food before, Jarana may serve... again: may serve as an introduction. However, for anyone looking to experience what Peruvian cuisine is truly capable of, there are several outstanding Peruvian restaurants within just a few miles that offer more authentic flavors, a better overall dining experience, and often at a lower price. I genuinely wanted to love this restaurant because the concept and ambiance are impressive. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting or the reputation behind the name.
