Boulder is already known for good food, but Jaipur is certainly another win-win when it comes to Indian cuisine. Beautiful umbrellas, coloring the inside of the dining room, with comfortable seating and very clean washroom. The Authentic Indian dishes are unfortunately served in moderate portions and it honestly makes you want more. This is one of the only restaurants where I was comfortable on taking the food home and didn't feel that I'll get sick from it. They have an outside seating patio, which is fine on a nice summer day! You get the view of the Boulder parks nearby and service is fantastic. Since Boulder is a college town, you get a student (And Senior) Discount here which is convenient. I ordered twice the Vegetable Samosas!! The soft shell of the crisp pastry with potatoes and peas was just all I needed. It is deep fried but not the bad kind. It was easy to eat, and I didn't feel bloated afterwards. The Chicken Tikka bowl was such a small portion, which we wanted to over eat it, sooo good. The dish mostly consists of Boneless chicken cubes, inside the bowl they added on onions and sizzled when served. The shrimp curry was drizzled and definitely was another one of my favorite! Unfortunately I had a bad experience. I came here twice, once for take out and the second time my family and I dined in. I got food poisoning from their food. I am not sure which dish it was. We got paneer masala and an eggplant dish with a side of rice. It was a really tough night for me. I also felt severe stomach and body pain that would not go away until the next day. Jaipur lunch buffet is back and only $12.95. Being a vegetarian, I like a buffet when dining at an Indian restaurant for having a variety of food options . I don't care to order from a menu and only get a 1 item entree like a bowl of Chana Masala, or Dal or a single Veg dish. I'm very pleased to be able to enjoy a buffet again. There are only two restaurants in town offering a buffet, and Jaipur is better priced. Plus, they make their Naan to order, so it's Fresh n Crispy. Their samosas are the best around and are my favorite. They were offered on the buffet. What a great deal for $12.95 when everyone else is price gouging everything after the pandemic. We just got done with a nice mountain hike and we were starving. We found this place was close to us. It didn't open until 5pm and it was 4:40pm. We stayed in our car for a little then walked over. They let us in 2 mins early. That was just the beginning of the awesome service! The decor is beautiful. They have umbrellas hanging from the ceiling that are adorable. It's large and has a fun chill vibe. We ordered appetizers right away. We ordered meat samosas and veggie pakoras. They were all amazing. I loved the way the meat was flavored in the samosas. The pakoras were so good and not oily at all. I loved all of the table sauces (mint chutney, chili sauce, picked onions). Those sauces were so good on both the samosas and the pakoras. For the main course my boyfriend and I ordered the lamb coconut curry and the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. My friends got some vegetarian meals that they said were wonderful. It all came with rice. The lamb coconut curry was so delicious there was such a strong coconut flavor you could taste and with an awesome kick. We ordered with medium heat and it was perfect. The chicken tikka was delicious with more of a potent taste and the spice really shined with the taste. Both the meats were cooked very well and the naan was perfect. Crispy and soft in the best ways. The servers checked in on us regularly. Our water cups were always full to the top. We kept adding small little things to our order like more naan. That the server made sure we got to eat with the rest of our food before it got cold. My friend also ordered a desert. At the end the server came over and gave us all complementary rice pudding that was refreshing and delicious. My boyfriend and I went with another couple that had just moved to boulder and have been here for 4 months. Extremely nice people, great service, and the owner or manager (?) almost always checks in to ask how we are and if we need anything. In my opinion, the food is consistently great in quality, and there's enough for leftovers. This place is just so much better than other Indian restaurants I've been to in the Boulder area. I live down the street and work a block away from Jaipur, so I come here often. The beautiful decor is what initially lured me in, but the flavors are rich and their lunch buffet is always hot and fresh. The service is consistently friendly and they are usually pretty attentive to your needs. Dinner is always a treat as well, as the vibe of the place completely changes once the lights dim. Prices are average for what you get and for being so close to Pearl Street. In all honesty, Jaipur is in my top 2 favorite Indian spots in town and has been for the past 2 years. CONS: The veg samosas were bland and unremarkable - couldn't eat any more than the first bite. The veg pakora was very heavy and greasy - again, rather bland and unremarkable. The curry sauce tasted a bit odd - not like curries I've had at other Indian restaurants, and not a good surprise. I didn't care for the bhuna much at all. Most importantly, which is why I'm rating this place 2 stars instead of 3, is that the person I went with and I both got sick from eating there. Can you ever go wrong with Indian? If you like Indian cuisine, you won't be disappointed here! The nan was delicious (went with cheese stuffed), and I definitely recommend the mango lassi (it's an Indian specialty that I always get). Went with lamb and it was cooked very well, tender and not chewy. Flavors were great, well balanced. Atmosphere was relaxed. Cultural difference with the waiter as far as not the typical attention you get most other restaurants. Did not bother me at all as my order was taken and completed and he was present at all the right moments, I only add this so that if you are really picky about how waiters act you can have this in mind and factor it into your choice before coming, so don't bother knocking a star down if it rubs you wrong. My waiter was top, I like a bit of space, but it wasn't too much. I definitely recommend this place, I feel like a few restaurants in this area up charge and under deliver because they are selling, well, who knows what. This place, however, delivers! After spending a few days tucked away in the mountains, we decided to explore Boulder before flying back to Indy. Indian cuisine is my top choice when it comes to comfort food and I definitely needed some comfort knowing I was within hours of leaving paradise. Because this decision, a quick lunch turned into quite a wait ... they seemed understaffed and it probably works assuming every patron eats the buffet lunch. We waited about 15 minutes just to order or maybe longer. We both ordered chicken korma with lots of garlic naan. The korma was perfectly seasoned and not spicy at all which is exactly what we ordered since we're pretty weak when it comes to intense spicy-ness. The garlic naan was hot and fresh and had just the right amount of garlic-y-goodness! The manager/owner of the restaurant did acknowledge that we had to wait longer than normal because he was kind enough to give us some rice pudding on the house. After a tasty meal, the rice pudding was light and very refreshing. Despite the wait, I would definitely eat here again! read more

As we stood outside at 2:23 debating whether to go in and risk being a-holes, an employee came out and warmly invited us in. Dilemma solved. I'm glad that he did, because the food was plentiful and delicious. We were not given regular menus, just the five choices for the lunch special. That was curious, but not a problem; we both wanted the lunch special. The low price tag belies the quantity and quality of the meal. My plate contained small piles of chicken tikka masala, sag paneer, green salad, and basmati rice, plus the day's appetizer, some kind of deep-fried onion thing. The package also comes with naan (which we accepted) and dessert (which we did not). It's a hell of a deal. The food was mostly very good, particularly the chicken tikka masala. It felt odd dining in an empty restaurant while they were cleaning and reorganizing between meal shifts, but they let in another couple about fifteen minutes after us, so that helped. By far the worst Indian food I have had. I ordered from their late night menu. The butter chicken (chicken makhani) sauce tasted mostly like cream and not much more. The chicken in it was clearly old tandoori chicken leftover from the day and mixed in the sauce. The rice was undercooked. The nan was undercook and still like raw dough. I appreciated how they took the time to wrap the soups and the mango lassi with plastic to prevent spilling! I really appreciate that. The food tasted fresh and well made. The mango lassi tasted good. The cheese naan had cheddar in it but it wasn't STUFFED with cheese but it was still good. The lamb meat samosa was flavorful and crispy. The tomato soup was spicy but good. The dal soup was very plain and I don't think I would get it again. The onion bajj had good flavor but I'm sure it would have tasted better at the restaurant. I recently was in Jaipur, India so when I saw the name of this restaurant, I had to try it. I thought it was okay; nothing special. The server staff was made of three people, one wearing some random sweatshirt, one wearing some random baseball hat, and one wearing some non-descript t-shirt. So not very professional. I was seated in a beat-up booth, but that's okay. I ordered soup as starter. For my entree, I ordered chicken tikka and channa masala on the side. The soup came out quickly and was very good. But, the chicken and the channa came out 2 seconds later, when I hardly even started my soup. The fact that the entrees came out within 5 minutes of my entering the restaurant suggested that neither was made to order. The chicken was super dry and tasteless. The channa masala was fine, but nothing special. It was also luke warm (maybe from sitting on the table while I finished my soup). So, this restaurant is average for Indian food in my opinion. read more
