My car was shaking down the expressway and I was told to take my car to get an alignment or potentially new tires. So I took my car here as my mom recommended it to me and it was far and away the best experience I have had at an auto shop. Very professional, knowledgeable staff. Told me I needed a tire balance and showed me why. Also told them that I was leaving for school soon and they managed to fit me into their clearly busy schedule. If you need your car repaired, skip the headache and frustration of going to Belle Tire or one of the other big guys- take your car here- you will not be disappointed. The driver in flatbed truck 27 rode up on me because the driver in the truck in front of me was driving 20mph under the speed limit. He tailgated me then flashed his brights repeatedly. I literally had no control over the situation. As a partner of someone in the tow industry it pains me to say that drivers like the one in truck 27 give the industry a bad name and are a poor representation of the Jake's Towing "brand". You want respect...give it! Update: because of my partner's industry connections the driver messaged my partner. He claims I blew a red light which is inaccurate and also claims I pulled out in front of him which is also inaccurate. Anyone living off M-24 knows you can't do that when people are doing 55-60 mph. The issue was the truck in front of my going far under the speed limit which if absolutely out of my control. The driver could have slowed without flying up on my tail and without turning his brights on and constantly flashing them. He also didn't have to scream at me out the window 6 miles later...but he did! read more

Unfortunately, I had another automotive issue so of course I went back to Jake's Automotive due to the superb service I had initially received. I was a bit anxious but I knew I was in good hands. So to make a long story short I set an appointment for today at 10 am. I got there at 9:50 am. They pulled my car in at 10 am. Right! Then they proceeded to diagnostically test my car with a fine tooth comb. Throughout the process, Aaron keep me informed. After about an hour I was given the final assessment which turned out to be good news. Not only did I receive prompt professional service but was given a discount coupon on an already reasonable bill. I just can't say enough. It's worth the drive if you don't live in the area. we have been in here numerous times in the past and spent thousands of dollars on 4 different vehicles here. feel free to go here if your work is simple... shocks, oil changes, maybe an alternator or tire.... but don't take them anything that requires in-depth knowledge of vehicles. we found out how limited their skills really were when after spending thousands with them to fix our mustang (which they could not) and having to listen to one excuse after another... we found another shop that diagnosed the problem and fixed it in under an hour. Seriously disappointed in Jakes... they just want the quick cash, more interested in that, than in actually fixing our vehicle. will not go back. read more

Nice and professional customer service guys but they are good at padding the bill with extra charges. Great facility, explained everything in detail. Silly me should have listened to the bad reviews and not have gone there. I took my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS to get the engine replaced under warranty. The engine was provided by the warranty company and the labor was paid by the warranty company. My deductible was to be $100. When I came to pick the vehicle up they charged me $384. They listed on the receipt that I needed some bolts and they added up to $284. Looks like they charged me labor to put the bolts on. The warranty company paid $3000 for labor and the company did not believe they could throw a few bolts in. After I received the vehicle and drove it I then noticed that it had started to leak around the 500 mile break-in period. I had to take it back at 500 miles for the warranty so I told them it had a small oil leak. At the same time we had already discussed fixing an existing exhaust issue. I got the exhaust issue fixed but they attempted to charge me for fixing the oil leak. Wow, they did not inspect the engine and said it was not there fault and tried to charge me but I said that I would not pay for that. After leaving my truck there for a few hours to fix the exhaust leak and check the oil leak I noticed the next day that my lower valance on my bumper was not on the vehicle. I called the shop and then stopped by, I was told that they did not have the part of my bumper. I stopped by the car wash to make sure it did not come off inside but they said no it did not. Now Jake's has informed me that it is not there problem and they will not pay for my $400 piece that is lost after they last touched my vehicle. Needless to say that I will not by the $1,000 set of tires that they quoted me. read more

I came in here after I hit a curb. They're were nice to talk to at first and as the other review says good about contacting you before they did work on the vehicle. But then when I came in and looked at what they replaced they changed both wheels and tires on my passenger side and when I asked why they were struggling to tell me why. I asked for a visual inspection and one wheel and tire looked perfectly fine and they said that moving the tire from a bent rim to a straight rim "might" cause a bubble in the side wall. And that the one rim was "kinda wobbling" on the tire balance. So they doubled the price of the work for a "kinda" and a "might". BE CAREFUL, THEY WILL TRY TO DO MORE WORK THAN NECESSARY IN ORDER TO MAKE MORE MONEY. Next bad part was that when I got in my rearview mirror had been messed with and when I went to move it i noticed it was broken. I went inside to talk to them about it and the manager said "sorry but if a part breaks while we have your vehicle we're not responsible because the part would have broken eventually by someone else". So they would not replace my mirror no matter what and eventually the manager just threw $20 on the counter and said here that should cover it. BE AWARE THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY IF SOMETHING BREAKS WHILE THEY HAVE YOUR VEHICLE. read more

On 12/27/17 my car wouldn't start. After failed attempts to jump the battery the towing service suggested I have my car towed to Jakes. I told Will from the towing company I had phoned Firestone on Rochester Road and they could put a battery in for $135.00. He then said he couldn't tow to Firestone I would have to call Auto-owner's for another company to have my car towed to Firestone. He however said he would tow to Jakes and they would work with me on the price of battery. He also said he would not charge me for a jump only a tow. My car was then towed to Jakes when I arrived Scott the advisor said it would be $47.33 to look at my car. After waiting a couple of hours in the waiting room. I was told my battery needed to be replaced. They ordered one and then I was given my bill. $224.19. Being a female I know how one can be taken advantaged of. And I feel I surely have been $47.33 to look at my car!! Really?? And not adjust that off?? When the battery was the problem. When I left Jakes I phoned Will the tow person and he denied what he said to me. Shame on him and SHAME on JAKES. read more

I took my car to Jake's for what I self-diagnosed as a wheel bearing replacement. Jake's staff was very friendly in helping me determine where the sound coming from my wheel was origninating from. Only $40 to diagnose and they called me before they replaced it. I was very pleased with their customer service and knowledge of auto issues. My car is running very smoothly now. read more

If you have a "driver" vehicle you don't care much about, go ahead and go to Jake's. Maybe you'll save a little. If you have a valuable vehicle, or one you really care about, I would not recommend Jake's. They use cheap parts. I had my Benz oil filter replaced at the dealership because Jake's used a cheap Chinese one. A friend of mine had wires burned in his car because Jake's used an improper fuse with a higher amp rating to "fix" his BMW electrical problem. They get a zero from me, I won't go back. Good service from people who earn your trust. We had several repairs done at this site over several years because of their fairness and honesty. One time they checked our car for noise, and they found nothing wrong and did not even charge us an inspection fee. They repaired/replaced the clutch on our truck, and did great work at a reasonable price. I would go back, but wish they had Saturday opening hours. read more
