IN SUMMARY: "Take out" fixed my order by REBAGGING another person's partially eaten order and gave it to me, to fix the order they initially got switched up between me and another customer, instead of remaking my order! This went from a simple mix-up that could have been corrected to a horrible experience. Also, I don't like leaving negative reviews. This is probably the first negative review that I've left on Yelp, but this is something that I'm upset about. I used to order from Jakes Burgers in Grapevine every week with the guys at the office and the food was always great, so I was excited to hear that there was Jakes in Frisco. This time, (about a week ago), I ordered my food for takeout at the Frisco location. When I got the food, I realized they gave me another person's order. I came back in, and I told them the issue. They pointed to the person at the other end of the counter and said yes, my order got mixed up with "that person". They told me to wait as they fix this. I waited 15 minutes Then, when they finally got around to fixing my order. The way they corrected my order, was to give me bag that was already sitting on the counter. Well, that bag was there, since I walked in 15 minutes earlier. They charged my card again, this time for the correct order.. but as far as refunding me for the wrong amount, I was told, that they don't time to fix it right away and that they will fix the charge later when they have time. At this point, I was thinking to myself that my food is going to be cold and they charging me twice.. I don't even know if they are going to refund me for the first order. On the positive side, the charge eventually did get corrected. The first thing I noticed was that the food was cold, but what happened next should not have happened. The EPIC SCREW UP - When I got to the car and realized that their FIX for giving me the wrong order was GIVING me the PARTIALLY EATEN BAG from the OTHER PERSON, INSTEAD of the correctly remaking my food. The other customer, that was sitting at the end of the counter must have returned their food (because our orders got switched). The restaurant REBAGGED the other person's food without even checking the contents and they gave it to me. I got partially eaten food in my bag and HALF OF ITEMS were MISSING. I was so angry, that threw it in the trash and went to another restaurant. Restaurants should never REBAG food that another customer returned, even if some of the contents are there, and even if it still looks good. In this case, the restaurant didn't even check that. If you're going to remake an order, please take the time to do it properly, because like in this case, you might just lose a customer that wanted to make this regular stop. We avoid eating inside of restaurants because of covid and my family of 6 was all waiting in the car for their food. They said never again. read more

So after standing at the hostess stand waiting for someone to seat us and watching waitstaff walk by 3-4 times without even acknowledging that I'm standing there, We decided to seat ourselves on the patio. We came to sit on the patio specifically because we looked up on the website that they have "the best pet friendly patios in DFW". Nobody ever came to serve us so I went in to ask for service & was told they're not serving on the patio (no reason given). I inform the hostess we brought our pup to sit on the patio since it's a beautiful evening. I referred to the what website says & that I checked before coming but was told it doesn't apply to the Frisco location. So website is a lie & still don't know why they weren't serving the patio and not attentive to guests upon arrival. read more

Decided to try the kickin chicken fried steak. Saw quite a few being served around me and looked darn good. Mine came out and looked a little greasy to be honest. It was steaming hot so I guess they took out of fryer and right on plate. The taste was pretty good, nice little kick to the breading. The gravy was a little bland for my taste but was fine. However today, Ms. Gina took care of us and all I can say is wow! She is so attentive, so personable and makes you feel like a welcomed guest in her home. She was extremely kind to all of the table - attentive even to my son. Do yourself a favor and ask for her when you visit - she will make your experience top notch. Really good basic burger. Although it's not something to make you want to make this your primary burger "HOME" its up there with what's available these days. By no means are they the only ones pricing their burgers in the 8-9 dollar range but Jakes is getting close to the top of the acceptable price point for a basic hamburger. I had the chili burger with cheese which was delicious. It has a smear of hickory bbq sauce on it also which I usually shy away from but tried it this time. Its ok but I think takes away from the burger flavor. I didn't get any fires or rings. My dinning companion got the cobb but substituted the grilled chicken for fried. It was a great salad and priced right for what you get. The space is built out to look older than it is in a faux historic building which is cool Overall if I where in this ara again I would not hesitate to visit these guys. read more

I've only been here to eat before the FC Dallas games. Expect a wait here because of that if you do go on game days. The bar is open seating (I always list my name and watch the bar like a hawk, and then remove my name when I get seating at the bar) and each time I've gone, about 1.5 hours before the game, the wait is 45 mins - 1 hour. I just started showing up earlier and that works. Definitely worth the wait, great food, great service and I'd rather pre game and have some beers there than to pay $14 across the street for one beer! Early on a Saturday evening, Service was on point. Apps and sauces all spiced nicely and very fresh tasting, have to especially mention the cheese curds: breading was not overdone nice and light and crispy. Chicken fried bacon burger was great. Flew in from Los Angeles to Frisco TX for an one night only trip. Traveled to see my beloved Los Angeles Galaxy, the best MLS team of all times, lose to a mid Dallas Burn soccer team. It's okay, it happens! Only two things made me feel better about that horrible loss. 1. Buying a new pair of python skin boots, and coming to Jakes Burgers and Beer! Service was awesome! Although the hot cowboy was excellent, and I will have it again, I don't believe it to be the best burger I've ever tasted. My husband had a "jakes special" and he said that it was really good. Tater tots were a little too crunchy for me. My son liked the fries. Good beer on top. Very reasonably priced. I think each burger was like $5-8 or something which you don't see much of on the square. I liked the setting a lot. It has these garage door style Windows that open up when it's warm, patio seating with twinkle lights and a tv, inside there is music going and plenty of space in either booths or tables. Just left Jakes and I could not have asked for better service from the hostess Riley to our server. We initially asked for an outside table but then asked if it was possible to move when the baby started dropping sweat. They did accommodate us quick. One of the orders was wrong but our sever had a fresh corrected plate out in less than 8 minutes. Overall a clean location and great service. I have been a patron of Jakes Bar and Grill for well over 1.5 years. On3/3/2023, I entered the establishment a 9:35pm. I opted to sit a the bar and eat. I took a seat at the bar and waited for a server or the bar tender to notice me. After 20 minutes and nothing, I left unnoticed and hungry. There was a larger blond girl with blond hair working behind the bar. She was busy with something but was not paying attention to any of the guest seated there. The bar was littered with dirty glasses, silverware and just sticky and dirty. She did not seem to care the state of cleanliness at all. I will never understand how an employee can care so little. To say the least, I am upset and unsure of returning again. I saw servers passing me by multiple times, nobody ask "if I had been served yet".
