I've been going to Jake's for years. The service has always been good, at times even great. Tonight, however, my family and I encountered a rare, highly sought after, but rarely found, much less experienced, and almost magical *wonderful* service night. Let me introduce you to Gina. At the risk of not being able to monopolize such a wonderful experience, she's not a 13 bakers dozen of greatness, she's a full 31-flavors of awesomeness! Professional, polite, personable, engaging and really understands the value in connecting with customers and giving them the experience that everyone so very much wants when they choose to dine out. Whether you've been a long time Jake's fan, or have never been and want to give it a try - ask for Gina. You will thank me, and more importantly yourself for doing so. Okay, so I go into Jake's to have a drink with a friend who convinces me to order some food with her. I don't eat here as my last few visits with the food left much to be desired (kids corn dog cold in the middle, burger undercooked, etc). I order and then the bartender hits his vape device. Ugh no! And get this! The second time this week I've visited an establishment that the bartender was vaping on the job, inside of the establishment. I cancelled my food order right then. Gross. I am officially done with Jake's. It's dirty, sticky and no one cares. No wonder it's always dead in there unless there is a soccer game or event happening. read more

Gina was a great server. She was pleasant, prompt, and informative. The Patty melt was amazing. Cheesy along with perfectly grilled onions on toasted rye. The corn nuggets and onion rings were very good as well. Must stop if you are in the neighborhood. read more

Y'all, we have been coming to Jake's for over 20+ years all over the metroplex. Nothing beats their burgers and ice cold beers. But let's be honest, Jake's was not known for service--until today! We had the best, kindest server at the Frisco location today. Gina is the best! Go there and ask for Gina. I do not know her personally until today. This place has a lot of nostalgia for me. My wife and I used to eat at the Jake's in uptown when we first moved to Dallas over 20 years ago. This particular Jake's is, unfortunately, very average. I tried the burger and fries during my visit. There isn't anything remarkable to say about the dish. It was just ok. Service was also average. The price was above average. So I came to this place as it was a staple in my childhood. I came in and sat at the bar and customer service was prompt. I ordered a drink and stuffed kale is while I waited. It's a rip off for what they charge. They were crunchy but the cheese inside the red jalapeño pepper was quite runny. I def prefer JIB Stuffed peppers. You do get five with the order. If you're going to drop the massive calories on a burger, do it here. By far, best burgers in town. I've been here a number of times so not just one visit. Jalapeño bottle cap burger is awesomeness. Service is always good at the bar. Beers are very reasonably priced for the area. The only reason not 5 stars is you have to buy any fries or anything separately. Came with some of my family and the service was fine and the food was great! We had the fried green beans as a starter then we ordered the cheeseburger deluxe and a flaming dawg!! Also on the monthly special flyer they had was sorta misleading. It had said their monthly burger which was a pesto burger and a draft beer in a fishbowl was $5, we thought both items were either included or $10 altogether. Absolutely fantastic burgers and appetizers. Also it's a big place so plenty of room for fans of all teams.

IN SUMMARY: "Take out" fixed my order by REBAGGING another person's partially eaten order and gave it to me, to fix the order they initially got switched up between me and another customer, instead of remaking my order! This went from a simple mix-up that could have been corrected to a horrible experience. Also, I don't like leaving negative reviews. This is probably the first negative review that I've left on Yelp, but this is something that I'm upset about. I used to order from Jakes Burgers in Grapevine every week with the guys at the office and the food was always great, so I was excited to hear that there was Jakes in Frisco. This time, (about a week ago), I ordered my food for takeout at the Frisco location. When I got the food, I realized they gave me another person's order. I came back in, and I told them the issue. They pointed to the person at the other end of the counter and said yes, my order got mixed up with "that person". They told me to wait as they fix this. I waited 15 minutes Then, when they finally got around to fixing my order. The way they corrected my order, was to give me bag that was already sitting on the counter. Well, that bag was there, since I walked in 15 minutes earlier. They charged my card again, this time for the correct order.. but as far as refunding me for the wrong amount, I was told, that they don't time to fix it right away and that they will fix the charge later when they have time. At this point, I was thinking to myself that my food is going to be cold and they charging me twice.. I don't even know if they are going to refund me for the first order. On the positive side, the charge eventually did get corrected. The first thing I noticed was that the food was cold, but what happened next should not have happened. The EPIC SCREW UP - When I got to the car and realized that their FIX for giving me the wrong order was GIVING me the PARTIALLY EATEN BAG from the OTHER PERSON, INSTEAD of the correctly remaking my food. The other customer, that was sitting at the end of the counter must have returned their food (because our orders got switched). The restaurant REBAGGED the other person's food without even checking the contents and they gave it to me. I got partially eaten food in my bag and HALF OF ITEMS were MISSING. I was so angry, that threw it in the trash and went to another restaurant. Restaurants should never REBAG food that another customer returned, even if some of the contents are there, and even if it still looks good. In this case, the restaurant didn't even check that. If you're going to remake an order, please take the time to do it properly, because like in this case, you might just lose a customer that wanted to make this regular stop. We avoid eating inside of restaurants because of covid and my family of 6 was all waiting in the car for their food. They said never again. read more

So after standing at the hostess stand waiting for someone to seat us and watching waitstaff walk by 3-4 times without even acknowledging that I'm standing there, We decided to seat ourselves on the patio. We came to sit on the patio specifically because we looked up on the website that they have "the best pet friendly patios in DFW". Nobody ever came to serve us so I went in to ask for service & was told they're not serving on the patio (no reason given). I inform the hostess we brought our pup to sit on the patio since it's a beautiful evening. I referred to the what website says & that I checked before coming but was told it doesn't apply to the Frisco location. So website is a lie & still don't know why they weren't serving the patio and not attentive to guests upon arrival. read more
