Okay, I couldn't stay away. I miss Eight 11 and even though they removed their few dairy free menu items and their pizzas are RIDICULOUSLY priced, we found ourselves coming back for the live music. For this reunion visit, we had a double date with great friends who were newbies to Eight 11. My Chardonnay and her Rose were tasty and the men enjoyed their Old Fashioned drinks. I tried something new, the BLT Panini and it was delicious! Although it could have used more inside - it was was thin. The chips were fine, but nothing special. The amazing couple split a Caesar Salad and a Pizza. Both seemed to enjoy their food. Really what made the night was our server. He was so patient and let us chat, catch up and just kept our drinks full through the night. I really want to not like Eight 11, but I just can't. Always a great time to come here where they have great Pizza served with unique wines and great bourbons. We normally get The Godfather pizza which comes with sliced meats and pepperoncinis, rosemary and truffle oil. Unfortunately yesterday we didn't taste any truffle oil (fortunately we have a bottle at home to put on our leftovers). This was our first time for their happy hour which they served smaller portions for a smaller price tag. I love this because you can try more items. We ordered the bruschetta which is always a favorite and I tried the brie and apple crostini. I would definitely have this again. The only thing about the portion size is we only received two of each of these. They have a festive atmosphere in the restaurant with Christmas trees and decorations everywhere. I would not recommend this place for a large group just because the dining area inside is very narrow, but we were a group of 5 and it worked for us. We arrived at Eight 11 at 5 even though we had a reservation at 6:15. We let the waiter know we got there early and asked for a patio table. They sit us on the side of the patio, and we were there for 3 hours enjoying the food and drinks and music. Then one of the employees came up and said we had to move because the people who reserved the table were there. She did not provide a solution as to where we were supposed to go to finish our drinks, so we asked her. She said we would have to move inside. No one ever told us the table was reserved later that night, or we would have gone somewhere else. The food is great and the live music as well, but they need to get it together about the seating. read more

I visited here recently with my friend and we had a wonderful time! I had read that this place was expected to close but was bought out by new ownership, so we wanted to check it out again. The ambience was perfect out on the patio for a fun girl's night and thankfully the heat was not too bad with the fans they have outside. Additionally, the hostess and waitress were both very attentive and made a point to ensure we were comfortable. Our waitress even brought over a mini fan and food cover to keep away flies! We began with the truffle chips and happy hour cheese board as our appetizers. My friend also ordered a glass of white wine which she enjoyed. The truffle chips were delicious, although the parmesan cheese was not completely melted atop the chips completely. The cheese board was one of my favorite parts of the night. It was the happy hour cheese board so it was smaller than the other one they offer at full price. It included two variations of cheese, grapes, pepperoni & prosciutto, cranberries, crostini, crackers, apple slices and honey. All of the elements were delicious and paired well with each other. It was the perfect amount for two people! For our entrees, I ordered the prosciutto and goat cheese panini, and she chose the happy hour pizza with added pepperonis. The panini was absolutely wonderful. The bread was toasted to perfection and the combination of goat cheese, arugula, fig jam & balsamic glaze was excellent. Additionally, I received a side of regular, kettle cooked chips which were great as well. My friend enjoyed her pizza, which was the perfect personal size coming from the happy hour offer. Service is very friendly and quick. The only warning about sitting outside is beware the flies. The staff try to provide aid with net covers and fly fans but there is little to really do when they are determined. They have good food and great appetizers. While the service is good, I am appalled by the new menu. Over the past year or so the gluten free options have all but ceased to exist. I'm bummed to share an updated review that's not great. I had been here a couple years before and had the best experience but more recently wasn't the same. When we got there there was a small wait because they had a long reservation list but when we got seated there were at least 5 open tables that stayed open all night and I think only one customer came in after us so when others left it's not like those tables got filled either. Not a huge deal, just odd. The table we got sat at had 10-15 dead flys in the window seal we were sitting at. Instead of moving us to another table they had reserved (that again, no one ever came to), the serve reached over us and picked them up. All night the flies kept coming back and hanging out with us and our food. Which was a bit unappetizing. We both got a wine flight. I really enjoyed mine. There was maybe 1 that wasn't my favorite but all good. My friend didn't like hers at all unfortunately. When we were leaving the manager brought us some champagne since we were there to celebrate which was very kind of her. We got the charcuterie board which was very tasty! We enjoyed that a lot! We also enjoyed the pizza we got. We weren't very sure about it because the ingredients were odd but it really was delicious! Overall, it's a cute little place. The food is delicious. If you're in Frisco, you really have to come to this adorable little place. Lunch was served by a charming young man who was just adorable and knew it. They have plenty of wine and beer, and great lunch options. It's affordable and it's just tasty and fresh. The chef works hard at her food and the results are wonderful. I used to LOVE this place so much - it was the "hidden gem" I would introduce my friends to. It was such a delight and has so much potential - cozy ambiance, personal firepits, live music, good food. But it's gone down *exponentially* over the past year. Service has gone from amazing to trash. It used to be a place that truly cared about serving the best experience and its entirely lost its magic. It's been some time since I went back and was so excited to take my boyfriend. I called in advance, made reservations for a Friday night and confirmed the live music (it's typically Thursday - Sunday but I asked anyway because I definitely wanted live music during his first time there!). The music is supposed to start at 6:30pm which was when we got there... half an hour later, still nothing. We ask the waiter and she says they decided to cancel the band because they weren't expecting many people.... What?? I understand having to make business decisions but your customers also have choices to make - and I absolutely would have rescheduled. Common courtesy to call your customers and let them know. But sure, just let me just find out for myself and be disappointed after I'm 2 drinks in and already ordered my food... They also started charging $10 just to turn on your firepit. That is literally the charm of the place and now customers have to pay for it. They also stopped offering blankets and overall it lacked the warmth and attentiveness I felt from servers every other time. But you know what - maybe it was an off night! I proceeded to STILL post on my food blog Instagram that this place is worth a visit. It encourages one of my friends to go for her anniversary night and wow, all I can say is that I am embarrassed and will NO longer be recommending this place. A few of her encounters - 1) The firepit does not turn on for an hour, they're freezing, they request a heater and the servers say they can't move one. AN HOUR in 30 degree weather with no accommodation before the firepit turns on. And then what? They're still charged the $10 firepit fee 2) They're offered a blanket for PURCHASE (which eight11 would previously offer for free use) and when it's the restaurant's own shortcoming that the firepit wouldn't turn on. Perhaps the penny-pinching, terrible service, and allowing guests to freeze is what's impacting the turnout 3) They order wine. My friend is drinking the wine and doesn't realize until almost done with her glass that there are CLOVES at the bottom of her glass. First, that's disgusting - was the glass not washed? Second, the server was not apologetic let alone offer another glass or take this one off the bill I am appalled by this experience at eight11. Yes, the food is good (minus perhaps dirty dishes?) and yes, the ambiance is cute and the place has potential to be what it used to be. But frankly, it's not anymore. Went here for a late Saturday brunch and sat the outdoor patio area with a perfect breeze coming thru on a sunny texas day. The relaxing ambiance outdoors was paired with chill music. The charcuterie board featured 3 different meats and cheeses along with various accompaniments of crostini, honey, strawberry preserves, olives, ground mustard and nuts. The pizza was cheesy amd flavorful. The mocktail as well as the loaded texas tea were nice and refreshing. The service staff was attentive and provided great recommendations. We decided to check out downtown Frisco and came across this cute wine bar. It wasn't too packed for a Saturday night - it was almost fully sat outside so we opted to sit indoors. Volume was loud outside with live music, but it was a comfortable volume indoors where we would talk to each other without yelling. We ordered beer, a small charcuterie board, and a mocktail (Frisco's finest without vodka). It was overall a good experience - some of the items were pricier than I think they should have been, but I think that's typical of gastro bars. I wasn't blown away by the food or drink, but it was pleasant and I could see myself bringing friends over to snack, sip, and chat. The one comment I do have is that the staff could have better customer service. I'm not able to eat a lot/have drinks because of health issues and I got alcohol pushed on me as well as a large portion of food under the pretense that the smaller portion was "flushing money down the toilet". As a server, you should try to leave a good first impression and let the customer decide what they want to order. I say that as someone who was a server for a few years. I'm interested in other items on the menu, so we'll come back. But I don't know that I would come back very often if I expect to be hounded about what I order. Just something to consider! read more
