Didn't actually have a good time here like last year. I give it 2 stars because the way the associate handled my experience was phenomenal. Upon entering, it was crazy packed and I mean you have little kids running around everywhere taking over all of the games and rides. You would be walking around for 30 minutes in circles just for nothing to come up. The buffet they had was completely hideous, I'm not understanding how it is and all you can eat buffet, but there was no food there at all. And I'm not sure what birthday party was happening or how many family members there were all together in one, but it was so unsanitary to have all of the kids slapping their hands all over the food all over the fountains all over the tables and chairs, spitting and coughing all over the toys. I was so embarrassed because when I was here last year, it was awesome and I took a friend so that way we can both have a good time and we left within 10 minutes of being there. I give it two stars because the manager we spoke to there was very understanding as well as we were. It was a simple two minutes of getting our money refunded back And walking out of the door, but I will 100% not be back here again. What can I say about Jake's Unlimited other than that I will never come here again. This place is straight ass. My son had been here before for a birthday party, and based on his recollections, our perception was that Jake's was very similar to John's Incredible Pizza Company in CA. Buffet, arcade, pool, and small carnival-type rides on the menu, so nothing we hadn't seen before. However, this location in Mesa needs a change in management STAT. Our visit today was just awful, and yes, I will tell you why in the next paragraph or two (or three). So I would have to say that the biggest draw for a place like Jake's is the arcade. Bright neon lights, loud attract modes, and the draw of prizes and tickets like any other related entertainment venue, and that should be enough to keep the kids and adults going for a few hours. However, when around 40% (we did some fuzzy math) of the machines are broken, the allure wears off very quickly as it did for us today. We decided that perhaps we should stick to the ticket redemption games, but after checking out the prize shop we decided that was a mistake. The prizes were nothing but overpriced cheap crap that weren't worth wasting 300 credits to earn. Combine that with unplayable machines and we're stuck with game cards that are essentially useless. Moving on to the food, you'd think that there would be something edible in the all-you-can-eat buffet, but I assure you there is not. The pasta was gag-worthy, the salad bar full of wilty lettuce, and the pizza was a no-show. During the entirety of our time spent, there was a line queued waiting for more pizza to arrive, and when it did it was like vultures on a carcass. The two pieces I managed to snag were simultaneously hot and cold, and somehow had raw onion on a cooked pizza. I'd compare it to school lunch at an elementary school, but with more giant bubbles in the crust. Then there's the sweet treat tickets that are given as part of your entry. These would be great if there weren't just a single person working the counter. Every time we scaled back to check the line, the ten people waiting equaled about 30 minutes of your life wasted. We opted to forgo the coupons and just get the hell out of there. And the cherry on top of all this is that the entire place is flat out disgusting. I swear I didn't touch a single surface that wasn't wet or sticky. I don't blame this solely on the staff as the clientele seems to be questionable at best. The situation could be rectified if there were a ready supply of hand sanitizer but alas, of the many dispensers stationed around the warehouse, most were out or even lacked the container. So you say to yourself, "I'll just wash my hands in the restroom!" and I will say to you, "Good luck", as the restrooms I entered had zero hand soap and nothing but germ blasters to dry your hands. Try not to touch your face as you power-walk out the exit. Honestly, I don't know how to best sum up my feelings for Jake's. It's gross, a rip-off, understaffed, and everything's broken. If I feel the need to wander an arcade hopelessly trying to earn tickets for a bluetooth speaker, I'll be at Mavrix instead. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews!! We had a birthday party for a large group of 14-year-olds. I told the parents that the teens would likely get bored, so we would probably be there for just a few hours. Well, SIX hours later, we had to gather them up and drag them away! Contrary to other complaints, ALL of the machines were operational! They offer so much for such a minimal price!! The teens ate when we got there. They ate the pizza that was served in the party room plus had pitchers of soda. They ate again from the buffet a couple of hours later. They ate again from the buffet right before we left!! The buffet offers various pizzas, various desserts, pastas, salad bar, soups, potatoes and toppings and MORE!! The teens absolutely enjoyed getting everything they could possibly eat AND drink!! This place is HUGE!! There are so many options to entertain!! There are bumper cars, an octopus type ride, laser tag, virtual reality, bowling, PLUS, PLUS!! They charge you $18 to just come in and warrant you getting the buffet which is worse than children's cafeteria food because no one is staffed to monitor access. Half the games were broken and they were completely understaffed with high school kids. This cost me $120 for the three of us. This place is on its deathbed, trying to keep pace with Dave and Busters, Main Event, and Fat Cats but failing miserably. The pizza tastes like cardboard. The Mac and cheese is awful. The salad bar appeared to have fresh lettuce, but everything else looked pretty suspicious. The potato bar was just potatoes, no toppings at all. The bowls for the soft serve ice cream are literally plastic ramekins. I'd set the over/under for amount of time it's been since they've mopped at 6 months. My 7 year old daughter absolutely loves this place. They have video games, bowling, laser tag, kids movies playing in the theater room, rides (including bumping cars), ect. Everyone pays to go in, even adults. $18 is the cheapest price to get in which just gets you the unlimited buffet all day from open to close which alone is worth it, I just pig out on the Mac and cheese, baked sweet potatoes, pizza, corn, ice cream and soda. We had my daughters birthday party here recently and it was worth it. They gave us a room for a couple of hours and it included wristbands for 10 kids. The servers brought us a couple of fresh pizza pies just for our party and sodas. Everyone loved it, the party ended up being about $500 but we did get extra stuff like desserts. Honestly if you come here you have to get your kid the pro pass which gives them access to basically everything (with the exception of just a couple of things which are extra) which is usually anywhere from $40 to $50 but if you are patient and sign up for they email mailing list about once a month or so the pass goes on sale for $25 or $30 thats when you need to jump on it. Sometimes they even have gift cards on sale for half the price. I bought a couple of $25 gift cards for only $25, so I basically got one free. This is the best place and most affordable fun you can have in Arizona with a kid for the price. All day fun and the kids never get tired of it. I took my daughter 3 days in a row here one week and she still wasn't tired of it. This place used to be called Amazing Jake's. Jake's Unlimited is loads of fun for the whole family. If my 5year old could coherently communicate their dreams, I'm sure it would sound a lot like the inside of Jakes; all the pizza, games and rides they can stand. It might seem like a big price for entry, but considering they feed you AND entertain you for an entire day, if you stay long enough, you're basically paying ~$5 (per person) an hour for a day food and entertainment, I'd say that's a good value. While there are some add on experiences that will cost additional to their door price, like VR (Virtual Reality) and arcade games that give out tickets, your wrist band will activate any of the carousels, drop ride, bumper cars, video games, skee ball, basketball, throwing skill and air hockey machines - but will not distribute tickets without the upgrade. There are package options that get you into laser tag, bowling and the other experiences they have. On our most recent visit, we came on a weekday during the summer month/s and took advantage of their $25 full day summer special for weekdays. We arrived about 11am and I think we left somewhere around 6pm. We rode the drop ride about 10 times in a row, played 10+ games of air hockey, lots of motorcycle and driving games, skee ball, I basically set the 5year old free and followed them around letting them lead the way and do whatever it was they wanted to do next. I think it took about 3/4ths of a mile on the car ride home for them to fall asleep, head fallen over to the side with drool coming down their chin, they were worn out! They had such a fun day and haven't stopped talking about going back to the place where the "video games and pizza" is. I'm sure we'll be back at some point; although, I think I still need more time to recover from eating more pizza in one day than I have in the previous 6 months combined. :-D read more

Ah. I wanted to like this place so much. We came on a Tuesday and spent a whopping six and a half hours here. During those seven hours, I experienced quite a lot. And I only have one child. So that's where a majority of the stars come from. At the discounted price (ask me for details), it's worth it if you're going to spend a LONG time there. If it's regularly priced? No way in hell would I come here. There are tons of things to do. Games are truly unlimited and so are rides and bowling and VR. BUT, to do all of that, you need to get the most expensive tier for entry and again, it's not worth jt if you aren't staying here for several hours. The VR arena was really fun (even for the adults), however. But the food is so gross. It's a buffet and that's fine with me. But all the pizza is like frozen, overcooked pizza so it hurts to chew. It has no flavor. There's also some sort of Mexican-style, tiny sauce area that is SO nasty as nobody is cleaning it. So all the sauces and toppings have dropped and dripped into each other. Same with the salad bar area. There is food all over the whole eating and food service vicinities. The floors are sticky. The plates (paper styrofoam) are nowhere to be found half the time because in a 6-hour span we were there, they kept forgetting to restock them. Everyone in my party only picked at their food. Even the desserts at the bar consist of 3 different types of mini grocery-store mass muffins and Brookies. Oh, sorry, and two, super messy soft serve machines. All those photos you see of crazy, colorful desserts? Those are NOT included. If you purchase the most expensive tier of entry, those are still not included. You get a scoop of ice cream with toppings or a root beer float. You pay for the colorful desserts. And of course, we had to try one. Preeeeetty disgusting. 'Gram worthy but that's it. After your photo, don't actually scoop that stuff into your mouth. Don't put any of the food in your mouth, actually. Drink the sodas, but that's it. So... I suppose that's why the three stars? Really, I'd say 2.5 but there aren't half stars here and I won't cheat them out of half. read more

This place in theory is excellent, in execution... not so much. This place is just so filthy. First off, no one can go in without the minimum purchase of a buffet. The problem is that the buffet is the worst food I have ever eaten, not to mention how dirty everything is. No lie, it all tasted like cardboard. The only good thing to eat was the soft serve, but again, it was dirty! The games: we got the unlimited bracelets, but even then, so many of the games were out of order. Most of the games are for kids 10 plus, not ideal for smaller kids. Although it says you win points when playing a game, in reality, your points aren't saved. This place has fallen hard. Most of the arcade machines have some major issues. Some were just turned off, others took your money and didn't work. The basketball machines, and skee ball machines just didn't have balls. The air hockey tables just didn't give you a puck. The laser tag vests are falling apart, and the guns themselves have problems shooting correctly. The bumper cars had cars die midway through with the employee not caring at all when informed. The floor was sticky all throughout the facility, and I avoided the food just because of how low quality everything else was. This was definitely a disappointing experience to take my nephew too, and I'd advise people to avoid this place until they clean up. read more

Hmmm used to be Amazing Jakes.. not so amazing anymore so they changed the name and added "Unlimited" while trying to rebrand. Fun lights around. Came back after a few years to major disappointment. The place is dirty, overpriced, and poorly managed. We came on a Monday night at 5:30 and the place was a mess. Food was cold and unappealing. Counters were dirty and items needed to be refilled and refreshed. I can only imagine what it looks like during the busy days/weekends with 3x the kids and adults. The ladies bathroom was disgusting. I had hoped it would be clean and sanitized considering we are still in a pandemic and it's the main bathroom. Managers were not in sight and employees appear to be between 18-20 and desperately needing structure and proper leadership. Staff stood around laughing in large groups instead of cleaning areas that need cleaning like busy walk ways, soda areas, tables, Floors in common sitting areas and bathrooms. We paid 25$ each for 3 pro passes and 15 for two adults. Kids had fun playing games and riding the rides. If this place was clean and also cared about what the adults want to see and experience, it would be a much better investment. Save your money and good somewhere else worth the high cost. Went here tonight for my birthday because I wanted to go bowling with my family. All the better places lanes were booked. Paid $25 for an unlimited arcade pass with access to the food Buffett. I wish I could say it was worth it but it wasn't. For one, all of the food was picked over. The pizza was decent. But the macaroni and cheese was cold. Like they straight up got banquet Mac n cheese from the freezer section at Walmart and left it out to thaw. None of the ice machines worked for most of the soda machines. Then, going to the "unlimited" arcade was a disaster. 90% of the games were broken and wouldn't work and the other half wouldn't even let you pay because you had to have a card which you had to pay more for which we weren't told. We thought unlimited arcade meant actually unlimited. Then we head over to the bowling area, and the shoes smelled like unwashed ass. I'm not even kidding. You could smell it from a distance. I'm going to have to burn the socks I wore. And then they didn't even let us finish and they shut down our lane before they even closed they were still open for a good twenty more minutes at least. And we left before they actually closed. When we're literally almost done. Overall it was a waste of money and I wouldn't recommend coming here. The plushy machines at the Walmart exit provided entertainment. At least I had my family as company which was the real treat. But couldn't hung out for free in the living room and ordered better pizza. read more

A couple years ago they changed the name, darkened it, added a ton of neon lights, and got rid of the go-carts (which were our favorite part). They did add another spinning ride, but still don't have enough people to run them all at once. Which is my only complaint really. We love coming here. The staff are always so accommodating and nice. We love that we can play and eat and play and eat some more... all day! It's really a great deal. I would recommend spending the day there for the most bang for your buck, and getting the pro pass. It includes all day food, most arcade games, laser tag, and all the rides. It no longer includes bowling, which is not a big deal for us since we usually glaze over that anyway. Check their page for deals, as well as Groupon. I really appreciate that they do those. They also offer a 10% off military discount. As far as my food review, it's your basic pizza and salad buffet. A good selection and the pizza is actually pretty good! I love that they also have soup and a potato bar. Sometimes they have pasta and other times they have nachos. Oh man, my family and I would come here often but I am extremely disappointed with how it is now. It was incredibly expensive for crummy food with a very small selection, half of the arcade games they got rid of AND on top of that, there isn't a package that just includes arcade games and buffet ($20 is what they charged for this package a couple of years ago). Now I'm out $84 for 2 people just to play some arcade games that don't even work properly!!!! What was once a family favorite is now an experience I will not come back for. I haven't been here in ages. I remember when it was formerly Amazing Jakes and it looked a whole heck of a lot different than it does now. Wow! Brought my daughter and her friend here and they had such a great time. We ordered our tickets through Groupon. All you can eat/drink passes and all attractions and rides for $32. We paid extra for the fun card so she could play games and earn tickets. Their buffet was great. Hot soups, pastas, salads and pizza. I'm Gluten Free so I was very happy when the guy behind the counter made me a customized pizza that he cooked separately. My daughter and her friend loved the laser tag, spinning tea cups and the ride that shoots you up and slowly drops you (forgot what that was called). We paid extra for a bowling game, and I was excited they had the bowling ramp for little kids. The game cards can also be used again on your next visit. Can't recall the time limit on those. Last night was my first time since high school visiting Jake's Unlimited. I thought I would take my niece and see how things have changed since it was once named Amazing Jakes. I will say I showed up under two hours before close. Most of the rides/games were broken/closed for whatever reason. There was a mess throughout the establishment. Everything looks poorly done with no thought behind the process. I did the package where you could only play games/ride that lit up green and not earn tickets. We were there for the games not so much the prizes. I don't think the prize I paid was even worth what we got. There was a mess on the floor. Drinks piling up on the bar. Eating tables full or dirty dishes. I'm not sure if they were short staffed. I know it was not busy inside. I find it much more enjoyable to go to Main Event or Mavrix. Mavrix is much cleaner and all around a better experience. I will not be going to Jake's again unfortunately. read more

Biggest scam I've ever been tricked into. The website listed a deal in which you buy $25 worth of gaming credits and receive $25 worth for free. Great deal, seemingly. After spending $100 on gaming points for the family and waiting behind 3 birthday parties at the entrance, we were told the gaming points get you absolutely nowhere unless you spend an additional $100 or more on "admission". Never once on the website or in the confirmation email was this listed, and considering we already spent $100 we were not willing to spend more for access to amenities we had no interest in using. When we asked for a refund, the manager refused to do so. She told us the only thing she could do was replace our current gaming points with the lowest level of admission. At the end of the day, a day we thought we would spend playing fun games together turned into a day of hunting around for the 3 functioning games that were included with the admission and hoping they would put at least one fresh pizza out on the buffet. With exception of one employee, the staff spoke shortly and rudely to us throughout our visit as well, making us feel even less welcome. Save your money and try Fat Cats, Dave and Busters, or honestly any other arcade in the valley. read more

Proceed with caution if you are planning a birthday party here. I wanted to have a very special birthday for my soon to be 10 year old. I have a very busy family and it took months to get everyone's schedule aligned but I finally managed to find a day everyone could get together. I called Jakes Unlimited, signed a contract and paid a deposit trusting that a room and time would be reserved for the party. Three weeks later I get a call saying the party has been canceled and I have to reschedule. Turns that contract only makes sure you're liable for not showing up and does nothing to prevent them from renting the place out to someone else. The offered to schedule me another day and throw in some cheap add ons but that didn't help my situation at all. There wasn't another time it could be done. They agreed to refund my deposit which again was nice but left me without a place to have the party. I understand my party was small potatoes and that big money came in and rented the place out, but it's just bad business to step on the little guy and cancel when you already have a contract. I can't trust them now knowing they could again cancel and reschedule me whenever they choose. Dropping in to enjoy a fun day is fine but really think hard about it before you plan your kids party here cause you have a good shot that you will end up disappointed and scrambling to make new plans if they decide to cancel on you. read more

Highly do not recommend going here Recently we visited jake's for a family outing. We first went there last weekend on a groupon and we drove an hour to get there and we got there to find out they were closed to the public for the rest of the night due to someone buying out the place. They do list this on their website however when your going through groupon it doesn't even mention the possibilities of that so that you know to call them to check in advance. We went back there this past weekend and my partner and I and even both kids were super disappointed Half of the games were broken and could not be played. It seems like every other machine in there was inoperable which is crazy because that is what you pay for and we had to walk around just finding whatever games did work which was not very many. On top of that the food was not many options to choose from but it was very dirty by where the food is and nobody wipes anything down the floors and counters by the food were disgusting extremely dirty. So so terrible. 2) The hand sanitizer smells SO SO SO BAD. Like I refused to use it because it smelled so bad. Others around me also commented on it, so you know that people aren't going to go back and get more/sanitize regularly if it is vomit inducing... I will be back once the COVID craziness is over. I wanted to give this place a try since I heard about all the cool remodeling that had been done. I had looked online prior to arriving and saw the I could purchase the "noob" packet for about $22. This packet includes a two hour play time, buffet (not available after 8pm) a game card, bowling (shoe rental not included) and unlimited rides. We arrived at 10:50pm on Friday night and it was very empty. We stood at the front counter and no one was there. We waited about ten minutes until someone finally decided to come out from the office. The employee told us that the only package they had to offer at that time was the $25 package. There was no difference from the "noob" one but I was going to have to pay a few dollars more. Great. We paid and went about to explore. The buffet was closed but the bar was open for drinks and food. The unlimited game card can be used on the games with the green light. Literally every game was either a shooting game or a racing game, lame. The rides are boring. The bumper car area is literally the size of my bedroom. They have a merry go round, the little dropper, the spinning teacups, and a ride that spins you around in mid air. The green roller coaster that they had (which was so much fun) is long gone, boo. The laser tag did get a really cool makeover though and it was pretty fun. No one was manning the rides at this time of night so we constantly had to ask employees for assistance. We rode the spinning ride once and when we went to ask for a second ride the employee never came out to let us on. The music was loud and employees just stood around talking to each other. There is a new carnival area and I didn't see the point of it. Not worth the $25. Two stars because the bartender was nice. read more

I visited Jake's Unlimited a week ago, during my kids fall break, and it left allot to be desired. I had previously been here before COVID and it was a great overall experience. The food bar has allot of vacant spots so only about half of the options from before. My son served himself macaroni but it was super dry like it sat there for a couple hours. Tired the churros and those were stale. I tried to have some ice cream at about 6:45pm but I was told that they ran out. We paid for unlimited wrist bands for all of us. We played a lot of games and won a lot of tickets. We went to redeem them and was told that the wrist bands don't save the ticket information. The disappointment on our Grandsons face was very upsetting. No one said anything about the wrist bands not collecting that information at all. Came here for my significant other's formal event for her grad school and found this place kind of interesting. It was kind of strange to be dressed very formally in a place where there are tons of kids just running around, but we had a good time. Being able to play laser tag and unlimited arcade games was great, though it's super unfortunate that this place closes really early (10 pm). My daughter weighs 40 lbs and she's 5 years old. She waited through FIVE Frog Hopper cycles while 12 year olds, adults, overweight 10 year olds, and on and on went on 2-3 at a time. Just put a weight limit on the damn thing so parents can move on with their lives. By the way... COVID-19 doesn't live on surfaces. Especially butts. Unfortunately as of early 2023, I have seen a heavy decline in the place. With being a location that focuses on unlimited attractions, the maintenance can be an absolute nightmare, and that seems to be happening with jakes Unlimited. Late Covid when policies and crowds were enforced it seemed like this place was getting the proper care. Now after visiting this place over 5 different times within years of it being open, I found my recent visit early this year to be the worst. They still have similar quality food, I would definitely prefer it over other buffets, but the arcade section and even the bowling was horribly maintained. The arcade is so poor that I couldn't think of any game that was 100% working. They all had issues. I am almost positive it has to due with the unlimited Arcade passes, which almost everyone has, that gets plays on basically every game besides the cranes. Mix that with the insane crowds on weekends and it becomes a maintenance nightmare. I still love this place, but it needs proper tlc or just some change, or even better techs/ maintenance. I had no fun playing the games, but saw so much potential. It was insane how many games were broken! read more

Jake's Unlimited took me back to my childhood and I cannot wait to go back! I bought their cyber monday deal which was pay $50 and get $100 in giftcards. Talk about a great deal and I decided to cash it in! We went in and we were surprised at how large the whole place was. It goes around in a large circle where you first come in you are greeted by the buffet. It's all you can eat during the week and it was alright. The pizza was meh, the mac and cheese was better and you can't beat a baked potato bar. We tried a couple of the rides from the bumper cars, to the laser game, laser tag and the mini bowling. Our fav had to be the mini bowling, it was easier to play than the regular game since they were light compared to typical bowling balls and it was quick. Best part was all the games were unlimited play, so we had a blast and played pretty much everything in the place. Most of the stuff was in good and clean condition so I was super impressed. Will be returning real soon so I can enjoy another carefree afternoon some friends. read more

This was our first time here and the kids had fun. We got the $35 pro pass which included unlimited food and drinks, all rides and arcade games (no tickets given). They do give a military discount or check Groupon also, they have a deal on there for $35 which includes 1 all day pro pass with $10 card for ticket games. Adults pay $15 for admission which includes unlimited food and drinks. The placed was packed and lines for rides were about a 15 minute wait. The floors were super wet and dirty in a lot of different areas. I ended up buying my kids a $20 card to play the arcades that gave them tickets. They had a deal where you got $40 for $20 in credits. There were 160 credits on card and the games go from 3 or 4 credits up to 10 from what I saw. The food was ok for what it is. The pizza was good. The nacho cheese for nachos was watery. They had a salad bar and baked potatoes. They weren't serving any pasta at all, not sure why. The ice cream machine wasn't working, They only had the pineapple soft serve which my kids liked. They had small cookies and muffins for desert. No ice in any of the ice machines. A few games were out of order but most were working. They have a midway section where if you win they give you a yellow ticket to take to the prize counter and you can pick a small stuffed animal. The more yellow tickets, the bigger the stuffed animal. They also have a bar area for adults with tvs and a desert bar that sells sundaes and unicorn cotton candy tacos. I think those were around $20. I would bring my kids again, they were entertained for hours! read more

I'm not sure what happened to jakes unlimited but, my experience there today was dreadful. They changed the buffet system to where you have to stand in line and it's like the hunger games. People cutting and trying to steal what ever pizza came up fresh because nothing stayed and was a ridiculous experience for the price paid for entry games and food. No excuse to have service especially when the building looks to be over capacity snd lines for rides can take up 15-2 minutes of your time. It's insane how jakes went from amazing jakes, some ugly looking place with decent food snd few games to this incredible experience and back down to a place that is short on delivery and is overpacked because it looks like they had a price drop. Even with the price drop, this service and experience should of cost way less then what jakes unlimited delivered on. 10/10 will no longer recommend and has been taken off of my kiddos next birthday party location. read more

We called looking for my 10 yrs old grandson to see if he was there and it was too much trouble for them to take two minutes to look for him he's been missing for six hours and they told us they were not going to look for him they did not have the staff we had to drive there to find for him Horrible customer service I will never go there again and make sure everyone I know is aware of how horrible this place is and how they don't care about children when it's supposedly a kids place We called back to talk to the manager about this and our number was blocked !! read more
