Well this was an unremarkable $40 lunch. I chose a taco salad and husband had the Greek salad with gyro meat. Although plentiful, the warm ground beef was in very large chunks and piled high on my quickly wilting salad. Prefab colored tortilla strips and black olives rounded out the lettuce and bagged shredded cheese. It came with a spicy orange dressing and a requested ranch, which I much preferred. The Greek salad had tiny cubes of prefab gyro meat on top of a pretty traditional Greek salad with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and pepper pieces. The Greek dressing was pretty good though. I was fascinated by their lettuce dispensing machine, which holds the pre-chopped greens in a vertical dispenser keeping them fresh. Although I won't be writing home about this meal, I will share this review to clear my camera roll. Sorry Jalapenos and Salads, you do not get a repeat visit. read more

My favorite thing about this margate hole in the wall is how fresh the food is! They get busy and turn over is high so you can count on the freshest of produce. Another plus is how quickly they serve you. Even when busy they keep the line moving quickly as they work assembly line style. And the staff members are really nice. A few have them have been there for awhile and they are super pleasant. My usual order is the tuna Niçoise salad. Love it! The Greek salad is another one of my favorites. If salad isn't your thing though they have solid Mexican fare. The burrito bowls and tacos are really yummy. Just beware the summer parking situation. So glad I found this salad place through yelp! My boyfriend and I spent the weekend in AC and figured we would find a salad place nearby. We decided to take the 15 minute drive from the AC Boardwalk to come to this gem. Jalapenos & Salads Co. is located on a busy main road of a cute small beach town down the road from AC. We found street parking easily. Upon entering, it was obvious many of the customers were locals or frequent visitors. The menu had a lot to offer from tacos, burritos, and salads -- Mexican styled salads as well as your basic options (or if you're feeling adventurous you can build your own). My boyfriend and I tried the On the Boarder Salad and Nacho Grande Salad. I enjoyed both. They had really great flavors that were expected from the listed ingredients. The ingredients tasted so fresh and delicious. Not your typical salad works, but I enjoyed this place so much more. It had a family-owned vibe to it that made it nice to sit back and enjoy. In this expensive town the place is a relative value. However, the other side of that value is that it just really wasn't that tasty. Nachos were just generic round chips with food service melted cheese in a cup or they could pour on it for you. Not cheese melted over nice chips. Not sure they even have a broiler or anything like that anyway. Tasted like something that you would get at a stadium. We had ground beef on it which again had little flavor. Great staff too, they actually double charged me for my food and when I came back a few days later after realizing it they apologized and gave me a free meal cause I didnt have my receipt. I love this place! I'd enjoyed the salads here from the day it opened. But when I started losing weight a little over a year ago, I took my salad eating to a whole new level. Over the past year, I've lost 92 pounds. Part of my success has been getting salads from here about three to five times every week. The salad ingredients are incredibly fresh. Of the literally hundreds of salads I've had here, I've NEVER had anything less than the freshest food possible. NEVER a brown or wilted piece of lettuce or spinach, and so on. The staff are very friendly. I know them by name, they know me by name and they know my usual order, and I'm far from the only customer who can say this. Having access to fresh and yummy salads has helped me lose so much weight without sacrificing flavor and enjoyment. If you enjoy spicy foods but want to cut out some of the calories, here's my prescription: South of the Border, leave off the cheese and black olives and add lots of jalapeño slices. There's no fancy creative type of salad here it's just your typical salad bar but the salad is always fresh and so are the toppings I always enjoy them .. They are very filling as well they have a lot of different dressing options which I like.. If you ask my fiancé she would say it's the best salad place in the world hahha but I'm not so sure about that maybe I just ate too many and it's Played out lol .. I love Jalapenos. My parents have a place in Margate, so whenever I am down the shore, I HAVE to get my Jalapenos! My absolute go to is either a salad or a wrap. Usually a salad and they have a lot of options as well as a build your own. I pretty much always do the "build your own" just because I like certain flavor combinations and can add or remove things as I wish. The salad and veggies and other toppings are always super fresh and full of flavor! I have never once had a bad piece of lettuce in my salad, and I LOVE their avocado ranch dressing! Plus, the salad also comes with warm Pita...delicious! You can get wraps with a jalapeno, whole wheat, spinach, or plain wrap, and they have tons of options for what you can order. Again, I like to build my own because I basically have my flavor combos here down to a science, but I can always go for their chicken Caesar option; its a classic! You always get a lot of food for your money here. The salads are pretty big and I can usually either share it with someone or have it as 2 light meals. A few times I have gotten a quesadilla or nachos, and they are good. Not greasy at all and really flavorful. Their smoothies are also fantastic. On a hot day, a smoothie or parfait is a nice treat. You definitely get plenty of salad for good prices. They have tons of toppings to choose from for the make your own salads. I got a burrito bowl and is always shocked when they say they don't have black beans (I love black beans). All in all it's priced right and the food is FRESHER than the one in EHT. I ordered a build your own salad and it was pretty good, and you could definitely tell that the ingredients were very fresh. It is pretty much a salad works but has tons of smoothies and smoothie bowls as well. The people who waited on me were very nice and informative. I was even told that all of their rice is made with chicken and there were not many vegan or vegetarian options like I thought there would be, other than getting a salad. Everything in the place is pretty cheap for the portion sizes and the meals other than the salads which are about $10 (so a little pricey). I would definitely go back because the ingredients in my salad were very fresh. read more

I live and work nearby, so I'm in here pretty frequently for lunch and dinner. It's a salad place with some mexican food- nothing very heavy. The staff is awesome- I've never had anything made wrong and nobody's ever been rude to me. All of the ingredients are fresh and the food is delicious (not to mention inexpensive!) My favorites are the oriental salad and the south of the border salad, as well as the chicken burrito- I recommend chicken over beef, if only because the beef makes it sort of mushy. read more
