No wait on this cool March night. Seated near a window which offered spectacular views of the bay. Lynsey was a great server! Ordered New England clam chowder. Taste was excellent but no potato to thicken it a tad. Teaspoonful was too small as a rounded soup spoon would have been more appropriate. The calamari salad was excellent but sadly served at the same time the soup arrived. Timing adjustment needed. Crab cake dinner (spouse's) was excellent!! Large enough to take one home. The mascarpone chocolate cheesecake with coffee was the perfect ending. We'll return for sure!! read more

We really enjoyed this new restaurant! From the friendly hostess, our server Leah, and the food, it was all pretty good! We had the perfect table by the water, and the weather was just right to dine outside. Of note, which Leah advised, they have a free flowing kitchen, so whatever is ready, will come out. We did wait to put our entrees in knowing this, as we wanted to actually get to nosh on the appetizers. They were really busy, so food did take awhile, but Leah preemptively came over to apologize and let us know there would be a wait. The drinks came out 1st, appetizers came shortly after, but the entrees were a bit staggered, one came out and about 5-10 mins later, the other. But we were fine with it. We really enjoyed the drinks and mussels, but the chips were ok. For the mains, the salmon dish with couscous was enjoyed, and so was the special-swordfish dish with coconut rice on the side. Even though the swordfish was a smidge overcooked, everything was really flavorful and tasty. I will most definitely return and highly recommend! 9/10 read more

Since opening last year, Tideline has become our favorite restaurant! Aside from the spectacular bay views, the food and drinks are delicious, and the service has always been very good, never had a bad experience thus far. Last night, we had the server Lindsay who went above and beyond in her hospitality. We have a 3 year old son and as soon as we sat down she came over and offered him a cool and unique kids toy (wikki sticks) and then brought over some of the little toy monkeys (that they use for decoration on the drinks) on his kids cup-- this made his night and kept him occupied the whole time! We've also had a server named Mark in the past who was great too, especially with our son. Definitely need to try Tideline if you haven't yet! read more

An absolute must for 'tini tuesday! Atmosphere is upscale coastal with a fabulous waterfront view from any section of this enormous mostly outdoor establishment. The staff was accommodating and our sweet young server had the utmost patience for our rowdy group beeming with questions. The small plates were vibrant and fresh, including local oysters, cheesesteak empanadas, and a chilled farro salad that was out of this world. VERY VERY VERY VERY LOUD! Both floors have a bar and a scenic view. That's the good news. The menu looked good, too. However we couldn't stay. IT WAS DEAFENINGLY LOUD FOR US, Our40 year old kids and our 12 year old grand kids couldn't even take it. Before you think we're just old... we like to party with the best of them. BUT WHEN YOUR OUT TO DINNER... it's nice to be able to talk to the person next to you. Suggestion to the owners. Put acoustic tiles up all over the place to kind of make it a fun place but also able to talk to somebody. Also, does the music really need to be so loud at dinner time? Maybe we'll come back during the day or when we can sit outside and it's not so irritatingly deafening to taste the food. read more

Amazing views from every seat but it's so loud you can't hear what anyone is saying. Went with 3 couples & we could only hear the person next to you if you spoke directly into their ear. At our dinner table. The actual music is fun, just uncomfortably loud. You can hear it from a block away which makes it really unpleasant for the outside diners of the neighboring restaurants as we learned the next night. Food - the pretzel was fantastic as was the sesame tuna & whipped ricotta apps. Salmon was really tasty but the pasta it was served over is cold. Fish & chips were a little bland. Definitely need more vegetable options in their sides. Overall, I enjoyed the food but I don't think we can go back. read more

The one star is for the ONE good thing about this restaurant, which was our waitress. It's a walk-in only restaurant. So we were put on a waitlist and told 45 mins. After TWO hours of waiting we come to find out the teenage untrained hostesses clearly didn't even know how to tell time. When we talked the manager it was clear he had NO idea how to run a restaurant and flip tables. The bisque was the only meal the whole table liked. Although the restaurant sits on the water it was quite loud. Needless to say, I won't be going to dinner there again. read more

Had lunch with 5 family members. Food was good and service by Rebecca G was excellent. One negative was that when I asked for a coke refill Rebecca advised there would be charge. I appreciated the heads up and accepted it. $3.00 was added to my $200.00+ bill. The practice of charging for a soft drink refill is abusive, shortsighted and poor business. We are not all tourist. This is the newest addition to Margate. Views are stunning and atmosphere was excellent. Steve the bartender was very attentive and so was our server. We went on a Saturday night where the wait was 2 hours. We were fine with that bc we just hung and had some cocktails. The second time I went was with a group of girls on a Tuesday night. Wait was less than an hour. (At prime dinner seating- before 5:30 was little wait). It's really nice when they're able to open up all the windows and doors as it really pulls the outside in. That happened on Saturday night but by Tuesday we were in the middle of the heat wave and the doors remain closed. Food is very casual. Between both nights we tested a lot of food; crab cakes, blue cheese truffle chips, whipped ricotta, ceviche, soft shell crabs, fish and chips, hots abd tots, crab cake dinner and crab cake sandwich, farro salad and halibut (catch of the day). Most dishes were good and full of flavor but the ceviche both nights needed seasoning. Halibut was just ok and side of coleslaw needs help. The whipped ricotta was excellent and everyone enjoyed that both nights. Crab cakes were good but blue cheese truffle chips were a crowd pleaser and I personally really liked the farro salad. I think this restaurant will do well but keep in mind they are new and still working out kinks. Drinks are excellent and there is a great lower deck for anyone waiting for a table or coming off of boat that can be enjoyed on the ground level. On Saturday night there was quite a bit of age difference between the lower deck and the main restaurant. I think this place is an excellent restaurant to pull up a boat or a jet ski grab a drink and some appetizers. If you're looking for fine dining, this is not the restaurant. The views from this restaurant are spectacular. We went on a Tuesday night and there was a 30 minute wait. We grabbed a drink and sat on the deck below, waiting for our table to be ready. The staff is young and not seasoned, but over the top with exceptional service. The menu is not fine dining, more like Shuckers. We definitely will be back. read more

When perusing the menu for lunchtime dining, I was intrigued by one item in particular. It was the Soft Shell Crab Tacos. I had never seen that menu item anywhere. So we went to Tideline this past Sunday afternoon. While all the seats at the bar were taken. there was an open booth. The tacos definitely met my expectations. My dining companion had the Manhattan Clam Chowder, and we shared the Blue Cheese Truffle Potato Chips. Not only was the food very good, but the service was excellent without being intrusive and the staff were all very friendly. Went to dinner on a Saturday night with three friends (all 22) around 8:00. Was looking for an upscale dinner on the water with fun cocktails. Wait was predicted 45 minutes to an hour so we spent some time downstairs getting drinks and taking pictures by the bay. Beautiful views here, really enjoyed being able to use this spot as a "waiting area." Got sat after only 30 minutes but at a booth across from the bar. Immediately noticed how noisy it was. There was a DJ not far away and between that and the bar, felt like I was screaming at people in my booth to be heard. Started off with calamari, Parmesan truffle fries, and their pretzel. Our waitress was amazing!! So friendly and had all the gluten free options ready to go. A food runner brought us the wrong food but after five minutes, we were able to get ahold of someone and get this righted. The Calamari has this amazing sauce on it but could've used a bit more or a thing of it on the side. Pretzel and fries were great. They were out of oysters which was super disappointing. For dinner, I went with the lobster BLT. The rest of my table did the salmon and their steak kabobs. They highly enjoyed theirs but I struggled with the dryness of my lobster BLT. The lobster seemed to lack the buttery richness of a traditional lobster, and I didn't love it, especially for the price. Took us a really long time to get our check but overall, a decent experience. Went for late lunch Sunday, then dinner on Monday. Both very nice experiences, except for long 1:45 wait Monday evening. Apparently people didn't want to leave their tables before the beautiful sunset. Regardless staff was very friendly and provided great service. I have been a resident of Margate for 20+ years. Quite frankly, I think that Tideline is the best thing that has happened to Margate since I have lived here. For starters, I absolutely love the ambiance. Is there anything better than having a nice, refreshing drink looking out into the water while waiting for your table. As far as the food goes, it is exactly what I was looking for. The baked clams are to die for and I absolutely love the Lobster BLT. It really is a must try. Service was great, as expected. Server was super attentive and made sure that we felt comfortable. One of the owners Cameron even came over to the table and was incredible. A must try if you are visiting Margate. read more

This spot is beautiful! And I know they are still getting off the ground, but I have a few constructive criticisms. The Caesar salad cutlet was undressed and the dressing existed at the bottom of the cutlet for some reason? They need to dress the actual salad. Crab cakes were awesome! And I heard very good things about the seared tuna from my friend who got it! The drinks were a flop in my opinion, mine and my friends was way over poured, the other two were under poured, and only one of the five was perfect. I'm excited to see how it is once they have been open for awhile. read more

If I could give this zero stars, I would. After being told we had an hour and 45 min wait for 4 on a Saturday, we settled in. Ordered a cosmo - bartended clearly didn't clean shaker as it mostly tasted like jalepeno. Then After 2 hrs and 15 min we were finally seated - waited another 20 min for a server who came over annoyed that we asked for a server - gave us napkins - and said "I'll bring over silverware when I find some that are clean". As we placed our order a friend with a dairy and gluten allergy simply asked for Salmon (on the menu) with two sides also on their menu, yet not paired with the Salmon. We were told no they would not accommodate us. The manager came over and further clarified - they would not accommodate any allergy, that the kitchen was too backed up (at 9:15 PM) and there was nothing they would do to work with us as they were not giving the kitchen anything that was not strictly on the menu. No apology, no trying to make it right, nothing. So if you have ANY concerns about allergies, Tideline is NOT for you. read more
