I've referred many people to this restaurant in the past, but after today, I will no longer be recommending it or returning as often as I used to. A few weeks ago, I placed a full order for my family, and part of it was incorrect. Unfortunately, the restaurant had already closed, so they couldn't fix it at the time. My son ended up only getting a quesadilla instead of the full meal he ordered with beans and rice. I was told when I came back, they would make it right by providing the missing items and possibly adding the quesadilla. Today (3/22 around 8:15 PM), I returned, placed a new order, and asked about receiving the beans and rice along with the quesadilla due to the previous mistake. The employee acknowledged the beans and rice but dismissed the quesadilla, saying they didn't make a mistake on that part. I calmly explained that my son didn't receive his full meal at the time due to their error, but she continued to be dismissive. What was most disappointing wasn't just the refusal--it was the attitude. The employee was rude, showed no interest in resolving the situation, and even made comments to a coworker about me right in front of me, which felt very unprofessional. This could have been a simple opportunity to provide good customer service and retain a loyal customer. Instead, it left a very negative impression. It's unfortunate because I used to enjoy coming here with my family and even ordered from here for larger gatherings. Pleasantly surprised. This is located in the shopping center where Auto Zone and Dollar Tree is. This has been here for decades it seems. I used to live nearby and thought I had come once before but didn't feel compelled to return. This was before Yelp existed. It is not what I thought it was. I thought it was a tex mex or some Mexican fusion. It is a taqueria with basic Mexican food. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you. I was very surprised at the prices were much less than what I have seen at other similar places. There was also a self serve chips n salsa bar that had Pico de Gallo. Came for a late lunch on a Saturday. Our food came out within ten minutes of ordering, maybe less because as soon as hubs got our drinks, the food was already on our table. I got my standby steak fajitas $21 and hubs ordered super nachos $14. It was plentiful. I got 5 flour tortillas that might be homemade? they were soft and different sizes so that tells me they are not pre-made by machine. I thought I would not have enough filling for them but no, it was plenty. They were good, but not real flavorful. The other negative is that they use green goo and call it guacamole. Its not. I want chunks of avocado even if I have to pay for it. So this is really a 4.5 but rounding up because of the friendly service and great value for what I got. El Azteca down the street is MUCH more expensive. I would return as my appetite was satisfied and didn't feel the need to go elsewhere but it was not memorable either. read more

Really good. Totally hits the burrito spot when a craving hits. Been here multiple times and it's always really good. I always get the chicken super burrito and my husband changes up his order, but most recently got the carne asada super burrito and we both really liked them. Lots of flavor. The chip and salsa bar is great too. Variety of salsas for everyone's needs. Service was super quick. Lots of tables to sit at. This most recent time we visited on a Saturday night around 5:30 and it was pretty busy. We will continue to be back. read more

Roseville is like an hour and 45 minutes from my house and I would come back in a heartbeat and I plan to and I know I'm using too many and's for one sentence and does it look like I care haha. I walked in and I was immediately happy seeing the free refills on the drinks and the salsa and chips station. But what blew me away was that wet burrito. How you going to make a burrito that makes me do my happy dance while I'm eating. I was so so satisfied. Everything from the chips and salsa and all those options and the melon drink was so so good. The place has two sides to it with plenty of space and it was nice and clean. In my humble opinion, this is a destination location, I was that happy and satisfied. Grabbed to-go dinner here after a long day, and I hadn't been in a really long time. I ordered the super burrito bowl with grilled chicken, and it was really good with lots of flavor. I especially loved how the salsa, guacamole, chicken, rice, and beans all came together. They also have a great salsa bar, which was a nice bonus. The food however wasn't fresh though, it seemed it was microwaved & one of our friends co-signed on that assumption because her and her husband has been here & they had an issue with the same thing. The server was nice, the cashier was very helpful & the overall vibe was casual and was like any ordinary Mexican restaurant. This was our go to taqueria for years. It has gone completely downhill since around Covid. We rarely go here anymore. I called it an order for 2 super burritos. They said 10 minutes. I got there in 7 and they were ready. Got home and they completely screwed up both orders putting the wrong meats with the wrong fillings we asked for on both. Both burritos were completely cold- it only took 3 minutes to get home to eat. The burritos were flooded with sour cream (despite asking for no sour cream on one of them). I remembered this happening last time but it was so long ago I had forgot. It's almost like they do this on purpose to cover the meat quality, which tasted old and disgusting. Two bites from my wife and I and we had to throw both burritos out. Complete waste of $30. Not even worth calling and asking them to remake them and drive all the way back because the quality was so off putting. Never going back. Definitely worth the drive to Nueva Vallarta instead. read more

We have only visited once and got the vibe that it is a regular stop for a lot of people! They have chips and salsa that are fresh and flavorful and an extensive menu it will take us a while to really sample. Our book club came to go to another restaurant but with a 45 min wait we decided to split up and get what you wanted and meet back. Jalisco grill had outdoor seating and even though they were busy no line and friendly service. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos and I got the super nachos with chicken. Portions aren't very big but what you get is good. I wouldn't recommend ordering guac when you can just get basically the same thing in their salsa bar for free. I've never had such lousy Mexican food. Ordered 2 taco combo dinner. Dinner was at the table before I could even get my drink. When delivered the beans, rice and taco beef were not even lukewarm. The chips under the heat lamp were warmer. The guacamole and sour cream were watery and flooded the lettuce so you couldn't get it on the tacos. Where was the slice of tomato you used to get with the meal? The two salsas I tried were tasteless. I used to enjoy this establishment, it was never great but okay. I have Celiac disease and I called to ask if the cheese enchilada plate with refried beans & rice was gluten free. I asked the lady that answered the phone to please double check with the chef as I didn't want to get sick. She said she checked and they use corn tortillas for the enchilada and the sauce, rice and refried beans were all guten free. Well it wasn't and I ended up sick last night. When I say sick I mean profusely vomiting. I'm allergic to gluten and my body violently rejects it. I'm highly disappointed and feel all staff needs to be trained on all food allergies. I've been going to Jalisco Grill for years and have always been okay with it as we have limited mexican food options in Roseville. The food has become sloppy in appearance. In total it was $33.00 for a plate and quesadilla, when I got home and opened the box it was a mess. A crispy taco in the same spot as the tamale covered with sour cream and guacamole. I was in the mood for Mexican and we had an evening without our child so we went here. It is a standard strip mall Mexican restaurant. The inside is clean and unassuming. It didn't scream "Mexican food" like some places. They have a large outdoor seating area too. The service was quick and employees were professional. You order at the counter and seat yourself. Our food came out almost too quickly so they probably have most items close to ready. I did not feel like the quality suffered from the speed. I ordered the torta with chicken. The flavor was good and the sandwich held together well. The bread was soft, but not chewy. I enjoyed all of the salsas and the chips are good quality. I appreciate unlimited chips and salsa too. Since moving into Roseville, CA, about two to three minutes driving time from Jalisco Grill on Foothills Blvd two years ago, this specific taqueria is the one I have patronized the most within the area. However, the texture and taste of what I ordered on 10/4/24 late afternoon, the super nachos, was an ireversible disappointment. Other previous dishes I had were far better in taste, freshness and texture. I hope management reads this review to re-assess any changes made in recent months. I was a dining and food newspaper and magazine columnist when in the publishing business years back in San Francisco, and spent many vacations dining where fast food eating and budget pinching tourists do not go. Maybe this place has a different cook forced to settle on shortcuts, but even a nachos dish should taste better by a Mexican owned taqueria than Taco Bell rendition. The avocado sauce/spread was tasteless, watery and looked like the color green had benefit from a drop of color food dye instead of visibly real avocado pulp. Even a supermarket refrigerated tub of avocado spread has more bits of real avocado. The bits of meat were dry, tough and tasteless. The frijole spread was absolutely tasteless, using too much water and minimal or no other seasoning. I hope I just came on an off day which happens to even hi end restaurants. What abounds in Northern and Central California and in most other states is tantamount to Mexican fast food style menus and ingredients. As many Mexican born residents told me, most taquerias, at least in this county, cater to nonLatinos whose foreign culinary experiences lean more to fast food standards. Luckily, I have spent many vacations in Mexico, dining in both hi end, pueblo authentic and generations owned Mexican restaurants, all who either own their own farms or have direct sources for their daily delivered food ingredients. Nothing is saved to sell the next day. Even the cheeses are fresh and made in Mexico. Most taquerias seem to use American near tasteless pre-shredded cheeses. Most taquerias use pre-made tortillas, Fewer and fewer make their own. But again, gringos rarely know the differences seems to be the prevailing opinion. read more

All of the salsas in the salsa bar are good. I especially enjoyed the super spicy one and the creamy verde. Unlimited chips and salsa is always a plus!
