I went to this place on a recommendation. The lady that seated me spoke broken English but the server spoke perfectly so communication was no issue. I had the chimichanga especiales. These were small, but the menu said they were. They were not really crisp. The beans and rice were just OK. I don't think I would go there again for the food. The bathrooms were filthy. If I had gone in there first I would not have eaten there. The condition of the bathrooms are usually the condition of the kitchen. read more

Easily a 4.0. Amazing food and service. The waiter was very attentive to our group. We never had to ask for refills. All the staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend for a good meal and any type margarita. read more

A group of friends went here for dinner. Seated on a corner table which worked out really well. We had a little trouble communicating with the waitress. But she did get our orders nearly correct. The fried cactus was very interesting. I recommend trying it. The food was adequate. Nothing special. It's a bit out of our way so I doubt we will frequent it regularly. One friend got terribly sick from her dinner. But it could have been anything that made her sick...not necessarily the restaurant. Like many restaurants I wish the service area that can be seen by the public would be cleaner, less clutter and trash. read more

I have had the most horrible day!! My flight to DFW was cancelled. So I have been stranded in Nashville. The hotel I'm staying at has a shuttle service. I asked to go to a Mexican restaurant. Where to start? The chips were bland. I got the lunch special #2 it was a chili rellenos and a taco. The taco had a puddle of grease on my plate when I was eating it. The salsa tasted like ketchup and I think they used the same salsa on my chili rellenos witch tasted like it's been sitting in sauce all day. The server checked on me once while all 4 of them sat at a table in the same lobby eating. Wish I had something good to say but.. oh wait the prepackaged mint they gave me with my check was good. Will Jalisco Mexican Restaurant be the same or have changed from when my wife and I were here ages ago When we entered, Spanish soccer was on the television- a la Liga match between Barcelona and Real Sociedad. We watched the game and munched on our chips and dip while we ordered lunch. The pork carnitas platter was my choice and my wife picked the enchilada suprema platter. I got an ample portion of port tips. Now carnitas are cooked too long in most places, but these couldn't have been prepared any better. The portions of mexican rice and refried beans were ample and the price was right. I wanted a Tres Leches cake for dessert and my wife wanted a flan. Those weren't on the menu, but we could have gotten a churro or a sopapilla instead. Maybe next time. Now to rate Jalisco's. An exciting fútbol game was plating on the TV during lunch. Our were was served promptly and my pork carnitas were delicious, The prices were super reasonable. What's not to like about Jalisco's? Four stars for them. read more

After reading the reviews I felt that others are being a little too harsh. As a Texas Boy. I have notice in Tennessee there is not very many good Hispanic food places. I found this place to be closer to authentic. Reasons fajita chicken and vegetables served looks fresh and clean. Rice looks like what it is suppose to be. Beans taste and look correct. Serving size looks accurate and The salsa actual has a great texture, it's thick and taste delightful. Tea is not to sweat or under sweat. Place is clean. I would normally want to go to Chuy's. The owner and employee asked for my bill and added 50 cents for fajita wraps and 1dollar and 50 cents for a cup of cilantro. I spent 26.00. Cheapskates , We won't go back there. Place should be shut down . Not very clean! Look in the kitchen.! read more

This by far is one of my family's favorite Mexican restaurants. Good portions, good staff. It's always busy on the weekends especially for dinner do try to get in for lunch. The chips and salsa that comes with every meal is fresh and wonderful. They have chimichanga especiales that comes with a shrimp (awesome), beef and chicken one. We get tacos also. meh... the service was good. we were seated quickly, our drinks were always full and the food came out quickly... but the food was bland and boring. we ordered chicken nachos... what we got... a mound of chips, white cheese sauce and shredded chicken... a good amount of food, but it lacked any flavor or spice. i don't need anything fancy... but i do need some flavor!! also, didn't come with sour cream or guacamole...bummer. I got chicken fajitas...my husband... steak fajitas... nothing too crazy. a mound of green peppers and onions with a laughably small amount of steak proportionate to the veggies... the same went for the chicken. it also had none of that awesome charred sizzling fajita flavor, and more of a Mexican stir fry quality... the beans and rice were not bad, just not great. it did come with sour cream and guacamole. all this said, The place was packed. it seems to be popular, so maybe we ordered the wrong things. read more

I ate there earlier this evening and had a platter with chicken, steak, shrimp, and chorizo. Most of the meat seemed to lack seasoning but weren't bad, the portion was fairly large but the shrimp were terrible. I gave a shrimp to one of my fellow diners to taste in case I was off and he described it as being marinated in mop water. Since we were not sure if the shrimp was actually bad or just tasted bad we call for the manager. I decided I was not willing to eat the rest of my dinner three fourths of which were left on the platter. Upon leaving the manager decided to discount my beverage and remove my Coke off of my ticket price and charge me full price for my entrée. When I mentioned to the manager that I had left most of my meal because I was worried about eating it he told me that I was welcome to take it home. Considering there were eight people in my party all of whom were put off by the manager's actions and probably will never return I think they should reconsider their customer service policies in the future. To be fair mine was the only dish anyone had a problem with but when you mention that the sea food doesn't taste right it should get a little more attention than the manager was willing to give. At no time did he offer to replace the meal or the shrimp. read more
